We were there the last week of January with our 11 year old daughter. Weather was perfect all week. I can't say enough about how glad we are that we chose this hotel over the others. Our beach by far was soooo much better than any other, and we took a good look at all. I finally got to know what it felt like not to feel all the pressure over the early morning battle for a seat at the beach, just to have someone come and take it from you or sit on you. You can rent Palapas for $35.00 a day up to 3 days, don't have to be consecutively, or you can go to beach hut at 4pm and reserve a free one for the next day orrrrr you can go to hut at 7am and reserve one for that day. They rent 50% of them and then 25% at 4 and 25% 7am. For the most part you wont be choosing your own. If you like to hang out after 5 don't choose the ones to the left in the front row, they move everyone out to put up the beach dinner restaurant. They also have plenty of palm tree shade. The sand is soft and the breeze is nice, so some times you want the shade and sometimes you don't, it's totally up to you minute by minute what you feel like. Its like the perfect world. The food and drinks are great and the staff runs around all day bringing you what ever you want to drink and eat. I love the fish tacos. They are always keeping up with out being intrusive and always with a great smile. You can run a tab till the end of the day. There is also plenty of water sports just off our beach, motorized and non. They are not included, but are reasonable for the most part. The water is salty but not dirty feeling at all.
Hotel (wow!) is very nice, Rooms and balconies are very roomy and all have a great view.
Staff and grounds are very well taken care of. Casino gets a bit smoky on Friday night but that's normal. You won't smell it anywhere in the hotel.
Restaurants: You must eat at Papamientos, It's not on site, so take a taxi. The food is amazing and there is a large selection. The atmosphere is like out of a movie. It's behind a home that's been there for over 100 years. You can go inside to look. The seating is outside around a pool. NOOO not for swimming! Your table is under low trees with soft lighting. The live music is a man playing a harp. Loved that I could hear my family talking. We found that the hotel buffet was good, but not great. Worth one trip but after that it is pretty much the same. Ruth's Chris was of course very good. We did not care for the food at the restaurant on the sand. The atmosphere was really cool but I would have preferred enjoying my last dinner there. Water everywhere on the island is safe to drink.
DON'T do things : Don't waste your money on DE PALM Island it's a big waste and the hotel will tell you if you do a half day you will be back about 2:00 2:30 nope back at almost 4:30, but that's not my problem. The zip line was very tiny and had no one working it, so you couldn't use it. The water park slides were very small and, honestly, are 3 smaaaall water slides worth several hundred dollars? Don't bother snorkeling, you won't see enough to warrant the effort and the water is so rough. They show these little lagoon areas, noooo that's not were you will snorkel. We went to Catalina just down from our hotel. That was not worth it. Also, they said we could walk. Noooo, don't! The taxi will take you, but then your stranded, even though the taxi man and hotel said they would have taxis there. We got lucky after a tiny start of a panic. Oh there is no kids club, but honestly she never wanted or needed it. The beach had everything to take up her time. It is still very quite and relaxing.
So all in all this is a great hotel choice. We will come back. We had such a great time.

We stayed in an oceanfront corner room, which gave us great Sunset Views. The room was nice, but for the price I expected better amenities. The Casino was smokey and definitely needs to be updated. At night it become a teen night around the lounge area, which we were not into for our Honeymoon. The restaurants were not the best, just walking up the beach proves gives you a great breakfast at half the price. I know that's normal for hotels, but maybe it's time for hotel chains to wake up! Having great food at a fair price will keep your guest on property more.
I was drinking champagne, at the beach it was $12, restaurant $10.....same champagne!

We spent 5 days at the Aruba Marriott and are planning on returning next year. The staff from check in, the maids, the servers and the bartenders were all great. All had a smile and made our trip special. Two bartenders at the quite pool went beyond what anyone would expect. Both Giovanni and Franklin deserve special recognition. This is a wonderful hotel on a special beach. We at a very special dinner at Simple Fish on the beach on feet from the waves.

Girl trips are always fun but adding the sun☀️☀️☀️☀️ is a plus! Aruba was everything I was told it was. The weather is beautiful; windy and sunny.....my friends and I were very happy with our service. The hotel was very clean and we had plenty of space in our room. Breakfast & Lunch was delicious!! Along with the cute little happy hour drinks.
We watched the sunset a few nights which was Amazing!!!!!!!
Mrs. Beverly at the front desk was so sweet. She offered a great bit of history about the island and hotel.
Aruba is very Very safe! You can walk or take a cab to the grocery store...

I plan to return very soon.

P.S....Aruba is great for a girlfriends trip or Couple trip!! ! ✈️

We were debating between staying here and the Ritz next door, but I am very glad we chose to stay here. We got a great deal through Costco travel which I highly encourage anyone who doesn't know about to look into since this saved us at least $1000. We were upgraded to a partial ocean view which was a real treat and unexpected. The room was nice, nothing fancy. You MUST get a hut for the beach. It's really worth the money. The sun is very powerful and you will get burned even with 70 spf if you do not shade yourself throughout the day. The hotel is primarily couples who are getting engaged there or on their honeymoon. The nightlife is pretty decent. Much better than the other hotels we walked into. The Ritz was literally dead. Only 1 couple at the bar at 9pm. I would encourage people to choose this hotel and not an all inclusive as there are many excellent restaurants on the island that are a must try. Lunch by the pool was very good. Certain aspects could use some updating, but overall, I would choose to stay here over any other resort and am very happy with our experience. PS Wifi is only free if you have Marriott rewards. It's free to sign up.

Room tip: As for a room with a pool view. It's beautiful to sit on the balcony and watch the pool change colors at night.
