My boyfriend and I went to Aruba in October 2009. Granted, we hadn't been to many other vacations together...but after the 7 nights/ 8 days we spent at the Marriott - anywhere else will be hard to beat.
When we arrived, we were greeted nicely - our luggage guy brought us refreshing drinks - concierge upgraded our room to Ocean/Island view. Having booked our stay on Marriott points, we also chose all-inclusive. This is the only way to go, as Aruba is quite expensive if you don't have a timeshare to cook a few meals on your own. Just for fun, we saved all of our receipts from our all inclusive package to bring home and tally up the damage - and if we hadn't taken the all-inclusive - Food and Beverage alone would have cost us $2,500. Trust me, it's the only way to go.
Food, in general was very good. Everything was very fresh - we ate a lot of the local fish - and you could tell that all your food was made to order. Since we were on all-inclusive, we were not looking at prices, so we were able to enjoy some amazing dishes. La Vista had a good breakfast buffet, but an even better lunch menu. The Beach bar has awesome fish tacos and the beach restaurant it turns into at night has amazing food as well as a great atmosphere. We went into town 2 nights as well - Cuba's Cooking and - The Screaming Eagle. Both very good.
The beach was amazing - perfect sand, water, green for miles. It was breathtaking. So relaxing. The sun sets on Marriotts beach - so my boyfriend and I would take a walk along the beach and jump in the ocean wherever we were to enjoy the sunset together. The pool is great too. But we found ourselves at the beach 100% if the time.
Overall, we had a great time in Aruba. I definitely think we will be going back on future vacations.

We stayed here for our honeymoon in October. The hotel was clean and beautifully decorated and the staff was friendly and helpful. There is not one bad thing I can say about our stay. We had booked an ocean/pool view room but we were given an upgrade upon arrival to the top floor. The view was gorgeous and the balcony was nice and big. The consierge desk was great; very accomodating. The pool was wonderful as was the beach. We never had a problem finding lounge chairs. There's a hut on the beach that rents out amazing rafts for only $5 a day which are perfect for the ocean. As far as food goes, La Vista restaurant had a great breakfast/brunch buffet but we never tried it for dinner. Waves was good for a casual lunch by the pool in the afternoon. Ruth's Chris was also good however the filet wasn't anything to write home about. Other than that we went to restaurants in town. We did order room service twice and it arrived hot and fast. My husband and I took a walk down the shore one day to take a look at the other hotels and the Marriott looked the nicest and cleanest by far. We would stay here again in a second. We can't wait to go back!

We recently stayed at the Marriott Aruba Resort & Stellaris Casino for our destination wedding. The hotel was gorgeous. Just undergoing a huge renovation, it was evident. The rooms were updated with flat screen tvs and each having a balcony. The lobby offers a sitting area with flat screen tvs, a bar & a small cafe. We traveled with a group of 25 people, all staying in various categories of rooms. Each room was bright and cheery and had a great view. I would recommend the Aruba Marriott to anyone looking for great value for their money. It may be a little more expensive than some of the other high rise hotels but you get what you pay for :)

The Marriott Aruba Resort was recently renovated. The rooms are excellent ... modern, large and comfortable with flat screen televisions and outdoor patios. The rooms also come with a mini-fridge, large desk, and sofa. The bathrooms are also large and come with a walk-in closet.

The pool area is nice but can feel crowded when the hotel is busy. The negative is that the swim-up bar tends to play loud music during the daytime.

The hotel also has a well-equipped gym that is complimentary to guests. The lobby is also large, modern and well-designed. The food at the restaurants is perfectly good if un-exciting. There is also a casino which allows smoking ... sometimes the smoke wafts into the lobby area.

The staff at the reception desk were wonderful ... friendly, helpful and efficient. I found the staff at the concierge desk to be less friendly and helpful.

Hello,

It was my husband and my first time going to Aruba and first time staying at Marriott. We had read a lot of the reviews on Trip Advisor so we have our hopes and doubts. I must say that from the moment we landed and arrived to Marriott hotel our 7 days stay was too short. The front desk staff greeted us with genuine smiles and made our honeymoon exceed our dreams.
From just sitting in the lobby snacking to sitting by the poolside tanning, we were always greeted by a staff asking how our day was going and just simply saying hello.
Our room was exceptional with fantastic dreamy balcony views and the most comfortable bed. The walk in closet was truly a WALK IN closet with spacious space!!!! I was shocked at how clean the housekeeping was and how trusting they were. We had money lying around our room and not even a dime was touched.

Only negative thing i would have to say is, don't eat at La Vista, the buffet was horrible *puke* I would recommend going to Chris Ruth's or venturing out into town. Pinchos Grill and Bar was amazing and simply stunning!!! If you are downtown, swing by Iguana Joe's as they have amazing staff, great prices and HUGE portions and delicious food!!

If you are like us.... looking for a quieter/romantic hotel i would stick with the Marriott. Because it's located at the end of the island, it is away from all the noise and people (from Holiday Inn, Riu and other resorts) and has the most cleanest beach on the island!!! The staff cleaned the pool and beaches every morning!! My husband and i were able to wait bare feet in the sand, but as soon as we reached the Holiday Inn area we had to put our shoes back on as the sand was filled with cigarette butts and garbage.

I can't wait until next Oct, when we go back to Marriott in Aruba to celebrate our anniversary. Thank you Aruba and Marriott for fulfilling my dreams/hopes for an amazing honeymoon!!!

Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Marriott Aruba Resort & Stellaris Casino. Attentive staff-we received a drink as soon as we checked in and it only got better from there! There are great restaurants ranging in price on-site, including the Waves Bar and Simply Fish. Make sure to reserve your palapa early as they tend to fill up quickly. Lots of water sports (jet skiing, parasailing, etc.) available for purchase right on the beach. The Mandara Spa is located in the hotel if you are up for a relaxing massage. Many tour companies also pick up directly from the hotel. We reserved the ABC jeep safari tour and it was fantastic-highly recommend! The only disadvantage at this hotel was that it was removed from the main Palm Beach shops and restaurants, so it required a bit of walking or taking the bus (stops right outside the hotel).

We used awards point for our room, and were very pleased with the room. although it was a "garden view room" we had a great view of the ocean. it was spacious and bed was comfortable. The pool was closed for remodeling , but we are ocean people anyway, so we did not miss it. The only fault we could find was a real lack of night time entertainment at the hotel. If it is going to call itself a resort, there should be some entertainment besidea a lounge singer one night, and the casino. We had to go elsewhere every night . Free is good though, and we would return again once we have enough point for 5 or 6 nights.
