“A great return trip”
Reviewed 21 April 2014

We returned to Manchebo Resort this year. This time we decided we'd explore Aruba (at least at dinnertime) rather than just chilling out, so we didn't get the all-inclusive package as we did last year. The staff welcomed us back as if we'd been gone only a couple of weeks. The front desk helped us make all our dinner and touring arrangements. While we very much enjoyed travelling around -- Aruba is a wonderful island and we felt welcome wherever we went -- we felt that we couldn't have made a better choice about where we stayed. We'll be back next year, fo sure!

Room Tip: We recommend ocean view rooms.

My wife and I just got back from our Honeymoon at the Manchebo Beach Resort in Aruba. From the moment we got off the bus to our resort, we were greeted with two T-Shirts that said Bride and Groom, 2 Mojitos, and two cold towels to wash up from the flight. Tamara, Sandra, and Junior were the staff at the front desk and were extremely friendly and made us feel like we were the only one's at the resort. As we went through the week, they always asked how our day was or how our excursions were. They listed to everything we conversed about and genuinely cared about us.
The view of the beach and the plant life there, along with the pool and restaurants was a dream! Everything about Manchebo screamed service. No matter the time or circumstance. On a morning that were leaving for an excursion, my wife got in a panic because she dropped her wedding ring down the sink drain. After we called the front desk, I'd guess 45 seconds went by before Signald was there with the tools and recovered her ring!
The restaurants are incredible! The Pega Pega bar was right on the beach and served food and drinks, Ike's Bistro has a great breakfast spread and amazing dinners along with beautiful presentations. the French Steakhouse had numerous varieties of Filet Mignon along with Seafood and Chicken. On a side note, the French Onion Soup was the best I've ever had!
Diana was our beach server and as soon as you put of the signal she was there. You never have to fight for a chair or a Palapas (shade tree). Angel would be there to get your chairs set up. he worked so hard.... the entire staff works so hard to please their guests.
The spa was so beautiful and had a great staff! LaVina was so friendly and the therapists were extraordinary! They have a ton of options and all of them are be worth it!
The beach is the largest in Aruba. Manchebo is a quiet resort with 72 rooms which was exactly what we wanted, along with a completely unobstructed view of the ridiculously awesome sunsets!
We couldn't say enough about Manchebo, and we have decided that Manchebo will be our vacation spot when we travel to an island.
When you go, look for, Tamara, Sandra, Junior, Edgar, Gerald, Vivian, Debbie, Diana, Angel, and the rest of the crew. Can't wait to go back and see all of our friends we made there and enjoy the 87 degree weather with not one ounce of rain! We LOVE Manchebo!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Delux Garden Suite. The view was beautiful. they have relaxing water fountains se...

The most wonderful vacation my wife and I have ever had. The staff at Manchebo Beach Resort and Spa are wonderful they threat you as if you were at home with Family members instead of at a resort. The meticulous care and attention they give their customers is without question beyond First Class Service in all the areas the Pega Pega Beach Bar & Grill, Ike's Bistro and the French Restauraunt. My wife and I are already planning to visit again next year. Manchebo has the following staff members to thank for our return next year. Nady, Anna Maria, Aracelys, Cynthia, Sandra, Junior, Mr. Jones, Ever the Chef at Ike's Bistro, Phoebus, Fanny, Diana, Lincoln and his Lincoln Mosquitos Drinks, Angel, Harold at the French Restaurant, Mayron Chef at the Pega Pega Beach Bar & Grill. My apologies for anyone whom we may have forgotten to mention in our review. We had a glorious massage at the Spa de Sol recommended for some relaxation. The Beach, Oh the Beach words can't express the Beauty and serenity we experience on the Beach. We recommend Manchebo Beach Resort to all who would like to experience Heaven on Earth.

Our experience at Manchebo was fantastic. Hotel was impressive, all property is updated and incredibly clean. Manchebo is smaller resort and this is what we loved. Three restaurants on location, plenty of lounge chairs and shade huts. We loved that lounging area wasn't right on top of the water; when we walked the beach several other resorts were closer to water and we were walking on top of sunbathers. Manchebo offered more privacy while still right on the beach! Our view from our room was amazing. The staff was like family and our dinners at Ike's Bistro and the French Steakhouse were amazing. Ike's offered outdoor dining while steakhouse was indoors. Breakfast was great, lunches at Pega Pega was ok. Drink service on the beach and morning yoga on the beach made this trip one of our most relaxing. We will return next year for sure.

Room Tip: Second floor ocean view are best.

Spent 5 incredible days at this wonderful little Hotel. Loved everything about it. The staff was very friendly & helpful. Nice, romantic, cozy hotel. The location can't be beat. Best beach ANYWHERE. Enjoyed 2 delicious meals at Ike's (recommend the chef's choice).
If you like to party and a more upbeat atmosphere, the high rise area may be more your scene. - If you simply want to get away and relax, Manchebo Beach Resort simply can't be beat. Looking forward to going back.

Went to manchebo with my husband for 5- day get away without kids for first time.
Took a taxi from the airport, arranged to have Bully taxi driver pick us up. Excellent to and from- waiting for us each time.
Greeted at Manchebo by excellent staff. Hot face cloth and a drink upon arrival. My request for an upstairs room was met.
Clean room, great view, nice bed, refrig for our beers and water, excellent excellent cleaning throughout our stay!

Ate at the Pega Pega for lunch and the food was fantastic- excellent service.

Did not do the all inclusive because so many great restaurants on the island. Ate at Ike's the first night- it was ok.
Went to El gauchos steakhouse and to La trattoria for dinner. La Tratoria is up by the lighthouse and the view and sunset are fantastic- good food.
Behind the Manchebo is a small market, shops, casino and dunkin doughnuts. Also- pizza bobs if u don't want a heavy dinner every night- nice people there.
We stopped at ling and sons and bought beer before arriving, but refreshed at the market.
Walked down to Michaels for breakfast one morning- better than Manchebo- it is down on your left when walking the beach.

The beach, people, spa, and bartender(nacio), were the gems of this resort!!!! We never had to rush out to find a place to lay in the sun- plenty of room on this beach. The ONLY annoying experience we had was the wind this time of year. Aruba is a windy island, but EXTRA windy in April- but have to say the warm gusty winds are better than the Boston weather we left behind.

This place is so relaxing that I actually told my husband I was bored one day!!! A good bored!!! Had a spa treatment and it was fantastic atmosphere!!!
Last day we were there, families with kids started showing up( spring break)- I went to get in the pool and some teenage boys were in there wiping a football at each other!!!! Cracked me up- I have three boys at home- but glad I was there a week before the family rush!!!
This place is great!!!!

Room Tip: Any room seems good- we chose the top floor- more privacy

Just got back from Aruba and our 12th stay at Machebo Beach Resort. The renovations at the new Ike's Bistro are very nice - comfy padded chairs at the tables and a couch/lounge area where, after breakfast, we took our pot of coffee and newspapers.

The rooms were so "just right." I couldn't think of anything that was missing - they had the fridge, the microwave, a safe for valuables, iron, ironing board, a full size, powerful hair dryer that could plug into the two-way, lit-up makeup mirror to make a roomy vanity area so not to take up room in the bathroom for the next person. Bathrobes! How do they get the towels so fluffy? And maybe it's my imagination but I thought they smelled of lavender. Bed was luxuriously comfortable with plenty of plush pillows.

We went for the Garden View room this year and were not disappointed. We enjoyed our quaint little fenced in "back yard" with mature plantings, fountains and statues. We saw many many birds and iguanas enjoying the habitat. The patio area with table and chairs opened onto this little yard - very cozy.

Fortunately for me, our room was adjacent to the spa where I had a fantastic shiatsu massage in the beach side huts listening to the surf only a few yards away. I even tried the foot spa with the garra rufa fish. Creepy in a very good way and very reasonable at $25 for a 30 minute session.

The Pega Pega beach bar and cafe has a snappy new menu - we took advantage of the row of lounge areas in the pavillion adjacent to the beach and had lunch right there.

OK the food - new for us were the smoothies - great combinations with coconut water, fruits, avocado, yogurt, honey, etc. and even a Creole one with tomato juice that tasted like fresh gazpacho. A new breakfast buffet featured all the usual eggs and meats with the UNusual addition of roasted veggies and cold cuts. The eggs were organic free range and there were steel cut oats, so having a bowl of healthy oatmeal was not a sacrifice.

The menu at both Ike's and the French Steakhouse were gourmet all the way - from presentation to execution to taste. We didn't even use our dine-around voucher. There is a coconut ice cream that I am still dreaming about.

Manchebo is nothing if not for it's staff - people you want to write to when you get home, people you want to take home with you. The warm welcome and friendships developed though the years are ones that we consider so special. We met so many other guests that keep coming back to Manchebo and, like us, ONLY to Manchebo.

Room Tip: Took the less expensive Garden View and were not disappointed. We liked being on the first floor for...
