“Beautiful beaches, great room, lovely people”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

We stayed at this resort over Thanksgiving 2013 for 4 nights. It was an amazing and relaxing stay at Manchebo Beach resort. We did the all-inclusive which was fantastic and easy - we didn't have to worry about money at all. Our goal for this vacation was relaxation, nothing more. We laid out on their beautiful beach every day. We went with the garden view room which was just lovely, and not far at all from the beach. While it would have been very nice to have oceanfront, we did just fine with garden view, which is still a lovely view. The food at the restaurants (Ike's Bistro and French Steakhouse) was delicious and brunch had a good variety of foods to choose from. Jason (I hope I got the name right!) was our favorite Ike's Bistro waiter - he was friendly and informative and funny. We even requested we sit in his section, we liked him so well. We often sat at the outdoor circular bar and enjoyed the company of Ignacio, who was hilarious and kind. And he made some yummy drinks for us! We hated having to leave and we really hope we make it back there in the next few years. We would not want to stay anywhere else.

I took my daughter to this resort for a yoga retreat with Rachel Brathen. This was a beautiful, quaint and low rise resort. The beach is very nice. The water had some waves and you could always just walk right in as it was very refreshing. The beach boys were always there to set up chairs under the palapas for you. There were always plenty available. After getting settled on the beach you are given an orange flag so in the event you want to order food or a drink you just stand up the flag and a waiter comes over. Now that is great service! The restaurants are all good and they have great healthy smoothies. There is a spa and a lot of people had services there and they all loved them. It is a bit pricey but you are on vacation to splurge. This resort is located in the low rise section of the island and minutes away from the downtown shopping. I would recommend the yoga retreat as well as the resort for a vacation.

Room Tip: We had a garden view which was very nice. The ocean front is beautiful but we weren't in the ro...

We were there for a family wedding on the beach at an adjacent resort that does not allow children. We were very pleased with everything - especially the breakfast buffet !!! The access to the beach and the pool was very convenient and handicap accessible. We were even fortunate enough to witness the hatching of a nest of sea turtles on our beach during our stay !!

Room Tip: Beach side rooms are great, but cost a little more.

My husband and I had the best experience EVER staying at the Manchebo Resort! Everyone was extremely friendly (esp. Tamara at the Front Desk!) and helpful. We were greeted with a (virgin) Mojito and cool towel while we were checking in. The Front Desk was extremely helpful with helping plan our entire stay and offered as many services as you can ask for. They had all of the information and made sure we were taken care of. Tamara addressed us on a Mr. and Mrs. last name basis and every time we saw her, she asked how our activities were going and remembered every single one! I am a sucker for great customer service and they exceeded my expectations.

Dinner at Ike's Bistro in front of the pool was AMAZING! Very flavorful and beautifully presented. I was a litle disappointed with breakfast selection one morning but I think it was because we came right before they were closing. They were extremely accommodating and gave us everything we wanted and needed, even though the kitchen was close to closing. We appreciated them going out of their way to continue to serve us.

Massages in the cabana at Spa del Sol was unforgettable! Between the views, the friendly staff and the relaxation afterwards, it was well worth the wait and money.

Our room was on the second floor facing the beach and also the bar/pool area, which was fine. The music during happy hour was a little loud but no complaints from us because it was already forewarned. We hardly spent our time in the room during those hours anyways. The room was very clean, very spacious. Loved the closet, microwave and fridge. The rain shower was interesting! Never used one and decided that I'm not a fan. Personal preference though.

Manchebo is in a great location. Close to a casino, shopping, eateries, different hotels, etc. Very few children around, which we thoroughly enjoyed because this was a "babymoon" for us and wanted to relax. If/When we ever return the Aruba, we will definitely be staying here again!

Room Tip: If staying on the second floor beach view, ask for one farthest from the pool/bar. You will probably...

I booked the trip for my 18 year old daughter and myself. She wanted to do yoga, I wanted to relax on the beach. It was a perfect spot to relax. We ended up eating on the property every night - the staff were so welcoming and friendly. The rooms were clean- it was a bummer that they were doing construction. You could not sit by the pool because it was noisy construction. I would go back to the spa because the people were so incredibly friendly and low key. Perfect beach!

Room Tip: we had 2nd floor ocean view- fabulous!

My fiancé and I visited Aruba for a friend’s wedding at Manchebo Beach Resort. From the moment we arrived we were pleased with the patient and friendly staff. We were greeted with mojitos and a quick tour of the resort from our bellhop. The resorts furnishings were elegant and functional, and the rooms were clean and good sized. We found the resort to be quiet and intimate, as advertised. The breakfasts were adequate and never crowded, and we found it was always easy to get service at the bar.

The drink prices were extremely reasonable, especially at happy hour, and the bartenders were attentive. The beach was excellent and never crowded. Manchebo is about halfway between the high rise area and downtown, so many destinations were within a $9-13 cab ride. The spa is also excellent, with some interesting treatments that we haven’t seen anywhere else (check out the fish treatment for feet – a unique and worthwhile experience).

We much prefer a quieter, smaller resort to the massive name brand high rise hotel experience, and felt that we got more personalized service and had more opportunity to relax at Manchebo. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and able to assist with most reservations and excursions. My friend’s wedding was simple and beautiful, with the staff adding a few small but key details that the bride appreciated and her guests noticed. Her colors were incorporated into the décor and flowers very nicely, and the wedding coordinator, officiate, videographer and photographer were all very professional. We were very impressed and would stay at Manchebo again.
