“Great Stay!”
Reviewed 27 September 2013

A friend of mine was getting married in Aruba and she suggested this place to stay. It was an excellent choice! The room we stayed in (11 I think) was very large. You walk into the living/dinning/kitchen area, which has plenty of room to spread out (couch, love seat, and one seater, plus table with chairs, and full kitchen). Then when you go around the bend to the back, there is a large sink/closet area before the bathroom/shower. The bathroom and shower where huge, plenty of room to move around in. And then the bedroom was huge too, king bed, dresser for cloths, and lots of room around the bed to keep luggage.
Outside the pool was really nice (we spent a lot of time swimming there!). Half the pool is covered by trees and the other half is in the sun. So you can easily move from a sunny area to the shade while in the pool.
Also each room has a front area, with a patio table, chairs, hammock, and weber grill. It's a great place to hang out in the shade.
And the staff was great. They helped us book activities, answer our questions, and make our trip very enjoyable!
We would recommend this place to others traveling to Aruba. If you're looking for a full all inclusive hotel, with restaurants, lots of activity, tons of people, huge buildings, etc then maybe this isn't the place for you. But if you're looking for a relaxing vacation, where you can hang out in peace, have all the amenities, and have a spacious room, then this is the place for you!

Dear Care R,

Thank you for your nice wonderful review. We are honored the bride and groom recommended Boardwalk to their wedding guests and are glad to read you had a fantastic stay with us. Thank you for emphasizing the spaciousness of the casitas here on TripAdvisor. It is one of the things which set us apart from alternative accommodation choices on the island. It’s also nice to read that you loved to relax in our pool. The shade and rustling Palm trees make it a lovely spot to hang out and relax! It was a pleasure to have you stay with us and we hope to be able to welcome you back soon!

Sunny greeting,

Very welcoming, friendly, outgoing staff.
We had a bedroom, living room/kitchen apartment which was very comfortable and well equipped. It had a private porch with grill.
Small, nice pool with lots of places to hang out and read.
About a 400 yard walk to the beach and the beaches are terrific.
Plenty of restaurants in easy walking distance.
A delightful place.
We thoroughly enjoyed it and would happily go back.

The Boardwalk Hotel is by far our favorite hotel in Aruba. We visit Aruba often, as we have family there. It is hard to find a hotel like the Boardwalk in Aruba. Most hotels are very large scale chain hotels, with lots of rooms, lots of people, elevators, busy lobbies, pools and you can hear your neighbors in the room next door - No privacy. The Boardwalk is heaven away from the madness of bustling large hotels. It is a hidden gem. The Boardwalk is an intimate experience, and a taste of the real Aruba. You get to know the owners and staff, who are so wonderful and will do anything for you. The rooms are just newly renovated over the past year. They are spacious, clean, colorful and modern. Each casita with its own kitchen, veranda, hammock and even a BBQ. Nowhere else do you get your own BBQ on a veranda at your hotel! :) The room prices are way below the average in Aruba, and its amazing because the hotel is the best! AC in every room. Everything is just so private and cozy. If you are looking for a relaxing vacation away from the hustle and bustle in a peaceful, clean and uplifting hotel for an amazing price. It's the Boardwalk! I really cannot recommend it more. We will never stay anywhere else. There is a reason they have such a high rating on Trip Advisor. Believe it! They are right across from the beach. And you can walk 15 mintues to shops and restaurants. You can even walk north to the more secluded beaches with less tourists :)

We had our wedding in Aruba 2 weeks ago. And all of our guests stayed at the Boardwalk. It was perfect and they were all so happy with the hotel choice. Everyone had their own kitchen so they could save some $$ and do their own cooking for breakfast and lunch. And with all the private verandas and the pool - 1/2 of them never even left the Boardwalk except for our wedding!!! And because the place is so quaint, it was perfect because we had booked so much of the hotel it felt like it was ours. PERFECT for destination weddings. Support the smaller hotels in Aruba and trust me... its SOOO much more enjoyable then staying at the Marriott or the Hyatt. If you stay there you end up in the lazy river pool with all the people who left their homes for the same reason you did, and you end up talking about your stressful job for several hours as you float around. Haha. We stayed at the Marriott one time and completely regretted the overwhelming experience of too many people moving in masses. The Boardwalk is incredible, and our wedding was outstanding. :) Go Boardwalk! We'll never stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: Casita #1 is the largest with a King Size bed and is the biggest and most private veranda with a dou...

I've stayed at numerous 5 star hotels across the world and must say I have rarely had an experience which compared to this one.If you are looking for a legit Caribbean getaway, the way it should be rather, than being stuck
In a big square, all inclusive resort surrounded by only tourists, this is the place
To go, with its Caribbean decor and tropical garden surrounding it this really
Is a beautiful romantic oasis.
I must add that the most positive feedback I have for this hotel is definitely the staff.
Alice, Kimberly and Stephanie are so friendly and familiar and SINCERE with all their guests, they have become like family when we left!!! They made our vacation unforgettable... they put so much time into helping us plan every aspect of it, telling us the best local spots to visit, our vacation wouldn't have been the same without them. Three thumbs up for the Boardwalk hotel!!!

Dear AnKarova,

Thank you so much for your kind, positive words about Boardwalk Hotel & it’s staff! It was a true pleasure to help you plan your vacation and cannot be happier reading you loved your stay with us. We are also very flattered for your comparison of Boardwalk with five star properties in the Caribbean, even though we are not a five star property. We hope future guests will not have reserve with us expecting five star hotel services. We do, however, offer a truly authentic Aruban experience at an intimate hotel, with hosts who care greatly about their guests and their vacation experiences. Thank you for your lovely review and we truly hope to be able to welcome you back with us very soon!

This was our 3rd visit to Aruba (stayed @ Casa Del Mar and Manchebo before) which both were nice but I have to say Boardwalk Hotel takes the cake. My wife and I checked in on Monday 9/16 around 2pm and were greeted by Alice and an intern. The checkin was smooth and they already knew who we were pretty much which was nice. We LUCKILY got casita #23 on the 2nd floor which in our opinion is the best one considering you are amongst the huge trees, have a nice breeze and can see the pool. Once inside the Casita my wife took tons of pics (which are posted here) and Alice showed us around the Casita explaining how everything works, which is very helpful because there are a lot of advanced features throughout the Casita to conserve energy. I opened up the fridge and there was craft of "sweet tea" I thought (with us being from North Carlolina USA) I was suprised to see they made us tea, ha-ha. We bought some vodka on the airplane so my wife made us a few mixed drinks and I go to drink the "sweet tea" and it's actually dark colored lemonade, which was GREAT !!!! We pretty much finised off the craft of lemonade and then unpacked, using the HUGE closets and spacious dresser (plenty of room so you don't have suit cases lying around). After setteling in a bit we walked out of the hotel and a 5 min walk to the bus stop in front of the Marriot so we could go to Super Foods and stock up for the week. The bus ride one way per person is $2.30 which isn't bad considering a taxi will be $9 per ride (they don't charge per person). We did however take a taxi back because we had a lot of bags and getting on the bus like that would probably not work to well. The taxi service in Aruba works pretty well and the taxi's are pretty nice/clean (some of the cleanest taxi's I've ever been in). Renting a car was on my mind but we never did it because the streets look a little tricky but I think now by observing while riding around in a bus/taxi I could drive next time with no issue (and yes there is a next time we are already planning :) We cooked breakfast each morning, packed sandwhiches for lunch on the beach along with CHILL Balashi beer (which is the lighter beer) and used the cooler given to us by Boardwalk. The walk to the beach was about 5-10 mins through the construction zone (VERY nice Ritz Carlton going up) but HONESTLY it was not bad and the workers are very respectable. According to Kimberly the Ritz should be finished early November and I truly think this will help the Boardwalk and the walk will be much nicer, sounds like Boardwalk is trying to work a deal where they will have their own palapas. After you get through the construction zone you will see a kiteboarding shop and to the right of that are about 6 palapas, that's where we sat each day at the beach for free (I heard it cost $23 to rent one in front of the high rise hotels even if you can rent one). I felt very safe with my bag there while we were in the water mostly (which is where we spent most of the time because it was pretty hot). Just a short walk down the beach is where you find all the High rise hotels/bars/restuarants and more water activites. We did rent a few SUP's from the kiteboard shop ($20 pp for hour) and that was fun but interesting for sure with the wind. On our last full day at the beach we did the tubing and that was $20 pp for 20 minutes but VERY worth it and a FUN ride, we took off right in front of our palapa. One day we took the bus as far as it would go to Boca Catalina beach for snorkeling and it was AWESOME, the palapas are free but you have to rent a chair for $5 from Patrick (Jamaican guy working there very nice). We took the 2 chairs, cooler and snorkel gear offered by Boardwalk and that day was truly awesome, my wife found a starfish and the beach there is really beautiful (kinda private) and snorkeling is awesome (put it this way it's where the boats take everyone on the snorkel trips you pay big money for :) In the middle of the week we took the bus downtown and did some shopping but it was really hot that day so took the bus back to our Casita where we relaxed in the pool (which is small but just the right size and it NEVER felt crowded even with 8 ppl in at once). The pool is real shady so it's very relaxing and there are few chairs around the pool to relax if you like. While hanging out in the pool we met some really nice people from Cuba, Italy, New York. The common area is pretty relaxing as well and you can lay in the hammock swing some take a nap just relax ( I think that is what the owners want in every aspect of the Boardwalk). The bed slept very well and was really comfortable with nice sheets/duvet and the shower was pretty awesome as well (no shower door so you just walk in and have a rain shower head and another one you can pull off the wall). I used the charcoal grill one night to cook steaks and hanging out on the veranda in the hammock chair was very nice at night (wind blowing just watching the sky relaxing). I saw 2 cats during the week but only one "Dushi" would come up on the veranda with us and sleep, it was pretty cool considering we have a dog at home and Dushi was just feeling in (same color also ha'ha). Throughout the week we saw Kimberly and Stephanie (2 sisters that own the hotel) and each time they were AWESOME and VERY helpful with information. These 2 young sisters really know how to run a hotel and are doing a great job in my opinion, they make you feel at home and it's almost like they are your friends even though you just met them. They are definately working that's for sure which is rare these days for owners of a company, but you can tell they take pride in their hotel and each day want to make it better. The other staff at the hotel were great as well always friendly, waving and our house keeper Veronica was excellent (which we showed our appreciation at the end of the week).

Sorry for the long review and I hope it's not too much about our trip and not enough about the Boardwalk but I think it's very helpful to hear about the island as well (how much things cost, where to go etc.) when you are staying in a place like this.

We can't wait to go back (maybe next September because the weather was absolutely perfect, a little hot but not that bad). Thanks again Kimberly and Stephanie and we hope to see you soon !!

Room Tip: 2nd floor away from everything but you can look out over the grounds. Casita #23 is tucked away amo...

With its cleanliness, friendly staff, beauty and ideal location, the Boardwalk Hotel is by and large one of the coolest places to stay in Aruba. Wait, did I say that? A voice is saying, Shut up! Keep this oasis a secret! But how can I? For travelers who believe in luxury in small things, look no further. Behind this renovated, boutique hotel is a staff that truly cares. And it shows. When you need a beach towel, you get it. Rum punch? You get it. When you want to know the exciting dining, nightlife and beach options, you get it: 5 star service. Aesthetically, the combination of modern and bohemian touches make this hotel a chic destination. We stayed in casita no. 6. The interior was a spacious suite with everything we needed: a safe, a comfortable bed, a modern bathroom, a not-too-shabby kitchen and more. The lush, tropical exterior not only provided a stunning backdrop for lounging, but enhanced our privacy. Yes, we walked around naked. Warning: you may forget time here. We did and almost missed our return flight to New York! Even when we were rushing out of the hotel, the staff expressed their graciousness and helped. We are better people having stayed at la casita. A little more relaxed.

We spent 15 days at The Boardwalk in August, 2013. I am beginning to feel like it my 2nd home. Once again, everything was GREAT. Clean, private, quiet, yet close to everything. Best of all, the Owners and Staff. Stephany and Kimberly and Staff all make us feel like Family. This was our 4 th visit to Aruba and The Boardwalk in 2 years and all I can say is each visit just gets better. Stephany and Kimberly take such pride and joy in updating and expanding their Boutique Hotel. Breakfast will be served soon, which will be wonderful on a morning you just don't feel like cooking. We did have several meals that we cooked and it was so pleasant, having dinner, just listening to the breeze through the Palms. Can't wait to get back to Aruba and I will be staying at my Home Away Home!!! I miss Little Lola too......
