This was our first time in Aruba but several of our friends had been to the island and gave it high recommendations. We chose Bucuti & Tara based largely upon the reviews we read on Trip Advisor and we weren't disappointed.

We chose one of the Tara penthouse suites because this was our 25th wedding anniversary and we wanted to do something special. The suite was large and well appointed although we probably would have voted for less dining and living room space in favor of a larger bathroom area. If you think you would like to book one of these suites then you should plan ahead. We booked ours 8 months in advance.

The room was very quiet and we never heard any noise from either our neighbors or from out in the hallway. As we are both light sleepers this was a very welcome feature. The view out to sea was spectacular as you can imagine and we took advantage of it at every opportunity. The Bucuti staff kept the place spotless and the evening turn down service was a nice touch.

Each of the four penthouse suites has exclusive access to one of the four large palapas which sit on the beach just in front of the restaurant and beach bar. This feature alone was worth the price of the room. We spent many hours just soaking in the view and enjoying a few cool drinks. Orville kept us supplied with ice, cool towels and fruit as well as answering all of our questions about Aruba and the sea turtles.

We had breakfast every morning in the Tara breakfast area although we could have dined at Elements if we so desired. The breakfast was very good and there are many things to sample. Even after 10 days, there were still some things we hadn't gotten around to trying.

We ate at Elements on three occasions. Dinner the first night we were there, lunch on the day we were taking the sunset sail and the romantic dinner on the beach in our palapa on the night of our anniversary. All three meals were delicious and served by an attentive staff. We did venture out to other restaurants or we would have eaten at Elements more often.

The staff was very helpful in planning and booking activities for us. They helped us sort through many of the restaurants on the island and we were not disappointed with any of their suggestions. We did not have a rental car but decided to use taxis for our excursions out to dinner in the evening. The islands taxis are plentiful and reasonable in cost. We never had to wait more than a few minutes for a ride.

Don't know if it was normal or not but it was very windy for the entire length of our stay. Very hard to keep a hat on or keep your hair style in place but at least the breeze kept the temperature feeling moderate instead of hot.

If you go, say hello to Frank at the front door, Mary-Ann & Toine at the concierge desk and Deborah the resort manager. They are great people and are always willing to do whatever it takes to make your stay enjoyable. Also try a pizza at Pizza Bob's which is right across the street from the resort.

The Bucuti and Tara Resort was a great place to vacation. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms were very nice. The food at Elements restaurant was one of the best meals we had. The beach was gorgeous! What more can you ask for.

We traveled to Aruba for the first time with four other couples. We chose the Bucuti based on other reviews and because it is adult only. The resort is located on a pure white sand beach that seems to stretch the length of a football field. By far, one of the prettiest beaches I have ever seen. The resort is very quiet in the low rise area of the island, but not too far from the high rise section if you want some nightlife. As some other reviews have said, they do have a de-humidifier and air cleaner in each room. I personally cut the de-humidifier off in my room because the type that are used blow warm air back into the room. Free breakfast buffet everyday was great with an omelet station if you want one. Resort is very clean and you must meet Paco the parrot. Again, if you want a lot of activities at your resort, this is not the place. If you want quiet and a big beautiful beach, this is your place.

Thank you so much for your comments and the recommendation to future visitors to look somewhere else if they wish more activities or action. WE pride ourselves for our peaceful ambiance , for our romantic environs - both these do not combine with action and activities. This is by design and specific wishes of mostly honeymooners and our many repeaters.

My husband and I stayed at Bucuti during our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. It was peaceful, relaxing, and beautiful. The staff were professional and accommodating.

It was a bit secluded, so travelers looking for more action and entertainment might want to consider other options (though taking a bus or taxi was easy enough). However, Bucuti was really the perfect place for a romantic getaway.

A "forever honeymoon" to you, and many thank you's for your wonderful comments on our resort and staff.
.
We also appreciate your reference, " It was a bit secluded, so travelers looking for more action and entertainment might want to consider other options", as we often find that some guest choose us for our ratings, especially our 5 star reviews on TripAdvisor. On arrival they find that there is not enough action - the resort is too quiet, too peaceful and soon we are pressed to find them accommodations at other resorts with more activities.

Our peace and tranquility and "adults only" policy is by design - based on the demand from past visitors, many of them many time repeaters to our place.

Masha Danki!

We stayed at Bucuti from July 27- Aug 3- it was not long enough! This hotel surpassed all of our expectations!

Checkin: We were first greeted by Frank (the doorman) he has to be the friendliest doorman in Aruba. He was the first face we saw and gave the hotel a great first impression right from the start. We were then brought into the front desk area to checkin and were given cold towels and a glass of champagne- nice touch! The staff was friendly and very welcoming. Because we did advanced checkin from home we were brought straight to our room.

Room: We stayed in the Tara Suite/ocean view- what a beautiful view, it really takes your breath away. The person who brought us to our room also gave us a tour of the property and explained all the ins and outs of the resort and room (I wish I could remember his name)

The Beach: Beautiful beach and not crowded. We were always able to get a chair without a problem. The beach was very relaxing and quiet- having been to other beaches in Aruba this is plain and simple, the best beach on the island. As a bonus, we got to see turtles hatch on the beach and assist them into the ocean, what an amazing experience!

Beach Service: Hungry or thirsty? No problem! Just put up your flag and someone will come running to you within 1 minute to take your order. We loved this service! Angelo was one of the beach attendants who we absolutely loved, what an amazing person! Always so friendly and even remembered our names after us telling him 1 time. We stayed at Manchebo (next door to Bucuti) last year and they also provide the beach service but would never show up to take your order- complete opposite at Bucuti- this hotel understands what great service is all about

Breakfast- We always ate breakfast at Elements because of the view. You're right on the beach with the ocean in front of you. The breakfast is included and offers lots of options. Nancy, who works the omelet station was very nice.

The Sand Bar: We would go to the sand bar every day for lunch. The food is a little on the pricey side but everything we ordered was delicious. My husband loved their grilled snapper sandwich, he ordered it almost every day. Karen and Jessica were always there to assist, they were quick and efficient- always checked in on us to make sure we had every thing we needed. Both of these ladies were friendly and we enjoyed speaking to them everyday.

Paco and Jessie: Residents of the Bucuti (Paco- a very talkative and funny parrot and Jessie- I think she is a parakeet) we loved seeing them everyday and we thought was a nice touch.

Management: The hotel manager, Deborah, really impressed us. She is seen on the property every day talking to guests to make sure that their vacation is going well and if there is anything else that can be done. Deborah welcomes any and all feedback whether it be good or bad- she wants to know! The hotel is a reflection of the standards that Deborah maintains- you're doing a great job! She is an excellent GM who really does care about the guests.

Overall: This is a wonderful hotel and you will not regret the decision to go there. If you are looking for rest, relaxtion, and wonderful service then this is the place for you. Last year we stayed at Manchebo (only because Bucuti was already fully booked) and we were not wowed or impressed. The service there was subpar and the employees were not trained properly. Coming to the Bucuti we were amazed from the minute we stepped out of the taxi. We have already booked for next year and we can not wait to go back! Thank you for a wonderful vacation.

Eager to return,
Natalie and Carlos Jimenez

Frank our official greeter, Angelo, Nancy, Karen and Jessica, all directed by tireless Deborah the Manager, all thank you for your wonderful comments.

Paco our Yellowhead Amazon Parrot says "goodbye" and "hello" and Jessie fell in love with a visiting Aruban Parakeet (Prikichi) called James who joined her in the cage, assisted by Nakarid who opened the gate. Love is in the air! Bird Romance at B&T.
Thank you from all of us - we hope to serve you again soon...

The staff was way to friendly, it felt uncomfortable, to artificial. The beach was like any other beach on the island. The room we were in was average but also strange, the was both a dehumidefier and air purify unit in each room. The food at the breakfast buffet was average. There a group of guest at the hotel when we were their there was group of guest who if you visited the pool before 3pm we're drinking beer. when I inquired about to the staff they stated that the guests had been spoken to before about their behavior which appears not to have worked since they continued to do so.

Room Tip: Every I cannot offer any advice on room selection.

Greetings, Lisa M from NY,

We are terribly sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay with us because of our (overly)friendly staff. We will talk to our staff about this and make sure they are a bit more aware of guests who seek more privacy, but assure you that their friendliness is genuine.

For the sake of other readers in this forum I must qualify your comment about our beach: Our hotel’s beach has appeared in a number of publications and has been named a "dream beach of the world", Top Ten best beaches in the Caribbean, and in Top 3 in the world on TripAdvisor. Eagle Beach is world famous and specifically here at our property you find the widest, most pristine section. Guests who enjoy our beach area prefer the quieter atmosphere compared to other beach areas on the island. 2558 reviews here on TripAdvisor give our location / beach the highest possible rating.

We offer a Dehumidifier in every room to avoid high humidity and possibly mold or mildew and that traditional Caribbean musty odor so prevalent in most beach resorts . We are surrounded by an ocean and a very high ambient humidity.

The Air-cleaner is designed to help people with allergies and avoids dust , VOC’s and allergens . Both units are part of our Eco-Rooms certification and both can be switched off any time a guest wishes.

We pride ourselves for our ambiance of peace and tranquility and do not allow children on premises (as we are an adults only resort). We limit entertainment to happy hours and in general offer no activities. Occasionally we happen to have a few rooms /couples that become friends and perhaps gather around the pool or the beach or the bar and have a glass of wine or a beer together, as part of their enjoyment. In your particular case some met and gathered around the pool in the early afternoon and had a few beers. No incidents, no issues and frankly we would not want to stop our guests from socializing and meeting each other - as a matter of fact we feature our own sailing trip were we encourage our guests to meet. Many have made friends for life here at our resort and periodically visit.

Our complimentary breakfast buffets, both in the Tara Lounge and at the Elements Restaurant receive excellent remarks, but like so many things in life, it is a matter of taste and we are truly sorry you feel it was of average quality or content . Maybe you could be more specific, so we can use the feedback for improvement? We will certainly take another look at the buffet and address anything that may need remedy.

We hope that your less then pleasant experience at our resort does not detract you from visiting our Island in the future as I am sure there are a few resorts that will cater to your preferences.

Respectfully yours,

Ewald Biemans
