We were very pleased with the resort. We swapped our timeshare out and stayed in a one bedroom. The room was updated and clean. The resort had a lot of activities going on all the time and a large fun pool with a large bar at it and several happy hours with two for one drinks. Live music started every afternoon at 4:00 and they were great! The beach was beautiful and we never got to the pool or beach real early and still got good seats. The lobby was really nice with a lot of helpful people and you could rent a car there. There are a few shops and small restaurants on the resort. We ate at the fancier outside restaurant that overlooked the ocean and it had great food and a beautiful view. We have swapped our timeshare out at many places and felt like this was one of the best. We will defiantly go back. The only draw back that I should warn you about is the bedroom is right when you walk into the unit so it is close to the outside hallway and since the pool bar is open late people come by very loud until all hours of the night. This happened every night we were there sometimes until 3:00am. It probably didn't help that we were right near the elevators. The pull out couch in our living area was much quieter place to sleep but the bed springs squeaked every time you rolled over. It was better suited for the children. This is the only reason why I wouldn't give it a five star rating. It would help if the management could maybe put some security in the hallways at night to make sure people were more quiet when arriving home.

Room Tip: You may want to get a studio rather then a one/two bedroom since the layout of the room has the bedr...

We stayed at this property after doing an exchange for our time share with Interval International, and we could not be more pleased. The Hotel is all time share units with studios, one, two or three bedrooms with full kitchens, a living room and balcony overlooking the Caribbean sea. The property faces highly rated Eagle Beach, which has numerous Palapas that you have access to, and we can attest to its well-deserved rating, with white sugar sand and azure waters,

There is also a large pool surrounded by restaurants and the bar, which is active all day long with various activities for guests, including Bingo and live music.

The grounds are immaculate and well-kept in keeping with the rest of the facility. There are various small shops on the grounds as well as a 7-Eleven style store, a Baskin-Robbins and a Cinnabon. The hotel across the street has a Dunkin-Donuts, if you need that fix.

There is also a smallish casino off the lobby and many larger ones in the many resort hotels a short walk or cab ride up the beach, across from a major enclosed mall with all the usual stores, plus some very high-end ones such as Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors,, Etc.

The staff here is wonderful, in keeping with the slogan "Aruba is one happy island" that pretty much personifies the residents of this lovely place-no surly people here. Everyone goes out of their way to be helpful, and they're always smiling.

BTW, did I mention that it's hot but not suffocating, and there's always a breeze to provide natural air conditioning, allowing outdoor dining, beaching and sunning?

In short, we loved it and will certainly return next year.

Room Tip: All the rooms face the beach, so every one is good.

Positives: fantastic access to the best beach on Aruba! Reviews of having to get up at 530am to get Cabana a stretch. My wife and I had no problem getting a Cabana every day. You may be in back or you may have to time it right, but never did we go down before 7am! Beach is post card picturesque and no rough waves. Pool area is very nice. Again, not a huge issue getting umbrella and no issue getting chairs. Casino on site is plus. Facility was in excellent shape, kept up nice, staff was great and we had no complaints on housekeeping (other then not replenishing my coffee!). Drawbacks - resturants on site OK, rooms are narrow and smaller but functional. If you are looking for variety in nightlife you will need to drive or taxi to the high rise areas.

Room Tip: To see Ocean - get on 4th floor. To have easy access to pool and ocean get on 1st floor.

This was our first trip to Aruba, and our 25th anniversary trip. Could not have pick a better spot.
La Cabana is located in the Low Rise resort district, meaning it is a little more quieter and not as much "Night Action" which was perfect for us. The High rise area is a quick bus trip up the road, with buses running every 10 minutes and costing 2.30, with the bus stop right on the corner.
The Lobby is breathtaking and he staff is top notch! Angela was extremely helpful in getting us the bookings for the off road adventure that we wanted to do, and each day she would ask us how we were doing, really making us feel right at home. There's a Cinnabon right in the lobby, so you can grab a quick bite, and coffee (or Ice cream). Down the hall are gift shops and a wonderful little party store for grabbing those little things you might have forgotten. The Grocery store in right behind the resort and across the street, perfect so your are not without anything. The Wi-Fi is iffy depending on where you are in the resort, they do have computers set up on the second floor in the lobby for guest use. But seeing I was on vacation I was not to worried abut it. The pool was beautiful, and though I have seen other review stating you can not get a chair, we had no problems getting chairs or an umbrella, no matter what time we went down. Pool towel are provided, and you can switch them out for dry ones anytime. In the morning there was Aqua Aerobics and it drew quite a crowd, we did not participate, but the instructor was very energetic and upbeat all the time getting everyone involved, and stayed outside the pool so you could clearly see what she was doing. Bingo, Trivia games, Happy hour. You really do not have to leave the area. At night there were different bands playing, all very good! The Pata Pata Bar is right next to the pool, and have the most wonderful people working there, great work ethic and they never stopped moving, Jander was the Bartender that waited on us, This guy was truly wonderful not enough words to say how great this guy is! Make sure you see him, he will take care of you all the way! The Islander Grill, great food, for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and a Sabarro Pizza all right on sight. We never stepped foot in the Casino, but it look nice inside. If you have the time the Spa is a wonderful place for a great relaxing massage. I hear they are moving the location of it - closer to the beach - but the staff is very well trained and know exactly what they are doing. Our room was not ocean front, but we did have a partial ocean view, but truthfully we were not in the room much so it did not bother us at all. We had a one bedroom, which the room opened up to the bedroom (had an inside hall way) I was worried about the noise level, but only got woken up once by really loud people, who were just not being considerate of the reset of the guest. Overall La Cabana is a wonderful resort and I can not wait to go back there!

This was our first stay at La Cabana in Aruba. I would highly recommend with two exceptions....the beds and pillows are horrible (we barely slept all week) and you are forced to walk around with a wristband for the entire duration of the trip (seems petty but you will end up with a very weird tan line) !! The resort is very well maintained and has just about anything you could possibly need. The view from our room was spectacular. The room overlooked the pool and the ocean. We never had a problem with noise. The pool area is wonderful and we never had a problem getting a table with an umbrella the entire stay. The pool bar is well stocked and there always seemed to be a "Happy Hour" of some sort going on as well as various activities throughout the day. The beach is gorgeous and is within a few steps of the pool area. We hooked up with a fantastic conciser, Mac, on day two. (I highly recommend using him!!!) He turned us on to the public transportation system and did a great job of providing dining choices that were simply amazing. Don't waste money on a cab or renting a car. The bus will take you almost everywhere you need to go for a fraction of the cost. There is a very large grocery store in walking distance of the resort as well as a very well stocked "convenience" store at the resort. I loved the location of the resort. It is tucked away from the touristy areas of the island but close enough to get to quickly. In addition, all tour operators will pick you up at the door of the hotel. Most of all, I fell in love with the iguana and dove that are permanent guests of the resort. It is nice to know that the locals care about the native inhabitants of the island!

Room Tip: We had a room that overlooked the pool. Never had an issue with noise.

I went there for a wedding on the beach by The Ambassador, next door to La Cabana. Absolutely beautiful. La Cabana was very comfortable. We had a two bedroom which consisted of a one bedroom with a studio lockout. This may sound sill, but the only think that could have made it better was a non-stick frying pan! The WiFi would drop out during the day, but otherwise reliable and fast enough. The entire staff was very nice, friendly and accommodating. They had a casino off the lobby which we tried once, lost our 20 bucks, and didn't stay any longer than we had to because of the smoke, common in all casinos I have been in. Not a minus, it just met my expectation! There is a grocery store close by and we could get everything we needed. The prices were a bit higher than we were used to, but, hey, it was a vacation! The television pulled in mostly New York City channels, which was fine. Overall the place was very good, and I have no problem going back!

Room Tip: Ask for a room close to the elevators. Our overlooked a parking lot and an inner courtyard. We could...

We enjoyed our stay at La Cabana. We stayed here several years ago and the resort has gone through major renovation since then. We used the onsite Avis rental. It was very convenient. We took the public bus to Pure Ocean one night for supper and also either took a cab or the public bus to the high rise district. We ate at Passions on the Beach as well as Carambola which were both within walking distance of the resort. It's about a 30 minute walk down the beach to Matthews. We had lunch and breakfast at Matthews and both were good. We would definitely stay at LaCabana again for its close proximity to the beach, good accommodations as well as easy access to public transportation.
