I am not normally interested in birds but this is a must do. You travel out to the nesting trees on boats - there is no land, you have to complete the tour in small boats. Our tour guide was excellent and shared a lot of interesting information. You come within inches of the birds. It is really magnificent to see them up close, with wing spans of over 6ft it's definitely not one to miss!

This is amazing, these birds only land to nest and on this tour you get within feet of them.

We took a catamaran over to the island of Barbuda, it can get a bit choppy in the middle so sickness pills may be advisory.

We went to the bird sanctuary and visited a few beaches, including the 17 mile long beach which is the longest in the Caribbean. The bird sanctuary was by far the highlight of the trip though!

Defiantly one to do!

I have never seen so many birds in one place in my life. The guides that take you to the sanctuary are very knowledgeable and friendly; I was afraid that our daughter (14 y.o.) would be bored, but she really liked this side trip, too.

We were here during mating season. Goldilocks (everyone knows him, just ask a local) took us out to see the birds, then lobster hunting, then to 17 mile beach via the lagoon. The birds are fantastic. We also saw (safe to touch) jellyfish in the lagoon. Amazing experience!!!

One of our stops on our epic sail from Antigua to Tortolla was beautiful Barbuda. We took a trip to the Sanctuary and George was our guide. He is a lovely, lovely gentle man and took us round the sanctuary telling us all we needed and wanted to know. The tour is great but he was most certainly the icing on the cake for us. Go gorgeous George!
