The cottage I stayed in was lovely, and the location is perfect, for a quiet and historically enriching vacation. The shuttle service also takes you down to Achilles Bay, which is a perfect little beach, with a Fantastic Restaurant right there! Tobacco Beach was Magnificent also... and just a short hike over the hill. This Resort is Very Well Run, and I Will Be Back!!
Beautiful Happy and Kind People Everywhere!... and Piero.... Thank You For Wonderful Restaurant Experiences at The Griffin & at the Beach Restaurant as well.
Superbo!!

Ms. Dee Dee, Maleeka, Amy, and Bruno and Chef Piero from the Restaurants make us feel so welcome upon our return. We were here with our son for a week on his 1st Birthday in October, and booked 2 weeks in April as soon as we got home. Yes, the couches could be updated, and the faucets could be changed (I've read the negatives), but this IS Island life - and it is a great and beautiful place. The PEOPLE are wonderful and helpful as can be (even Amy ;-)), and having the Club right above the Town makes running all around necessary and fun. Bakey downt he street, bus stops everywhere, shopping (and haggling) everywhere. Sheesh, it was GREAT to actually be able to walk through the Mall at the Dockyard without being bumped into by the Cruise Ship Idiots. We had Unit 19, overlooking the Main Lap Pool, with a back view of the Center Loop Pool and Town. Spectacular views and we couldn't have been happier. Put the baby in the stroller and shoot to the Crystal Caves, Aquarium, Yahoo's Restaurant in Town, Swizzle Inn, Frog & Onion, and on and on. You go through U.S. Customs on the Bermuda side of your return trip, so when you land at JFK, you just get your bags and shoot to your car. JUST THE BEST TIME - 1 1/2 hours to paradise. St. George's can't be beat !!

Room Tip: Ask for a Harbor View 1st week and Club House view of other Harbor on week 2.

I've stayed here before. This time was the worst. It started the first morning we woke up. We had no water when we flushed the toilets. We contacted the front desk and were told they were aware of a problem. That was the beginning of a week without flushing water (a few times no tap water either). Every time we asked about an update on the water situation we were told something different. The ENTIRE week we had no flushing water, how crazy is that? How can this be a 5 star establishment and it not have toilet water for a week? I'm sure had we contacted the health department they would have shut down the resort until the water problem was fixed. Something we should have done. They did offer a complimentary dinner for "our difficult conditions". Dinner? Really? For a weeks stay not being able to use our own bathrooms comfortably the whole time? The units are worn and in desperate need of some work. We had stained walls, floors, couches, cabinets. The blinds were missing many strips and the screens needed repair. The place is falling apart.

We apologise for the issue you had with flushing water that week. We did have a major problem locating a burst pipe on the property. We did try to keep everyone updated via Front Desk but clearly did not do the best job for you. Our system runs on brackish water and that can be switched to fresh water if necessary. The leak was so large it exhausted our fresh water supply overnight. The good news is that we did find it later on in the week and repaired it quickly. We are sorry you did not experience us at our best and welcome you to contact us to see how we can entice you back.

It seems some of the units are updated, some are not. We were in 30A and it was NOT. Dirty, stained, old and uncomfortable furniture. Orange water out of the facet one day, deemed showers impossible. The resort is a $50 taxi ride to Hamilton, the island center. Not alot to do in St George's, however amazingly lovely. Front desk staff nice and friendly, as was the single breakfast waitress (who desperately needs a new uniform)!

Room Tip: Demand a room that has been updated, or don't stay there. RCI members beware -

We traveled with friends and stayed at the St. George's Club 3/1 - 3/8. Check in was quick and efficient and the front desk staff was very friendly. We stayed in a two bedroom, two bath unit with amazing views over the water. Yes, the units are older and slowly being upgraded but we found ours to be clean and comfortable and the perfect base camp for exploring the island. The units aren't "fancy" but have everything you need to enjoy your time there.

Because it was raining when we arrived we went on site to Griffin's and enjoyed some complementary champagne and good conversation at the bar and got the fishing report. We made a reservation for dinner there also and enjoyed an excellent meal. The chef was very accommodating as my wife is gluten & dairy free because of allergies, and he made her an outstanding meal. Griffin's is a little pricey but the quality of the meals was excellent and you will never feel rushed by the staff. Relax, eat and savor the moments.

Sunday we attended church at St. Peter's and explored down town St. George. We met and talked with many of the local folks and shop keepers. We were interested in fishing on this trip and chatted with a local, "Big Red" on the "Don't Ask" which was docked adjacent to Visitor Center. "Big Red" was going fishing on Monday and offered to take us along. On Monday, good to his word we set out about 9AM and caught fish on hand lines until we returned to the dock around 2:45PM. "Big Red" filleted the catch which were cooked up back at our cottage. The cottage had all of the amenities that we need to make complete meals, which we did most nights. So if you want to learn to fish like a local, stop by and say hi to "Big Red".

We also rented motorbikes for Tuesday-Thursday to explore the island. It was convenient to have an Oleander's rental facility right at the St. George's Club. We were a little concerned about a three day rental because the weather forecast was not very good for the week, but in the end we had sunshine everyday, running into only one short rain shower while we were out. Most evenings the rains came late at night and did not affect our time there. The bikes gave us the freedom to explore areas that we have been to before and to seek out new ones. Overall we had a great time hiking, exploring the blue holes and caves, snorkeling (yes, the water was very easy for us to adjust too) and we even found a "message in a bottle" on Church Bay from August 2013.

As I said, the accommodations aren't fancy but there is everything you need to make a good meal, relax with friends and get a good nights sleep before setting out on the next days adventure. I would agree that some more attention to upgrading is necessary and like anything else in life it's dependent on the funds to do it. Slow and steady, but I think the St. George's Club will get it done. If you want my biggest complaint about the facility, it was the noise from the chiller fan motor at Griffin's which made it a little hard to listen to the night sounds and the frogs. Other than that, from the accommodating staff to the heated pool we were all very happy with our vacation at the St. George's Club and would love to go back again.

We needed a place to rest up that was near the airport, which was reasonable in price and this unit met those criteria perfectly. Clean room, could not have been further from reception if we tried, perhaps it was because we got a special booking.com price. Decor dated and tired so only a worry if you are here for a long stay. Sunrise spectacular, easy walk into the town and pretty location.

I can't say enough about this Club. The staff were very friendly, the food excellent, the pools and grounds clean and our one bedroom unit was perfect with an outstanding view overlooking the old town. I read one of the negative reviews and prepared myself to be disappointed; but that must have been a 'one-off'. Staff seem very attentive eg. one day we noted that the water was off and after phoning maintenance, the fellow was there in under 5 minutes to correct the problem. I want to especially shout-out to Bruno the waiter in the restaurant; on one occasion friends living in Bermuda visited us for dinner and one of them had a request for something not on the menu and in fact, made quite a funny scene about it - Bruno produced it and was very professional in the way he handled it - which helped make this one of the best vacations in memory! Would highly recommend St.George's.
