“The history & adventures of Bermuda”

After many years of planning to go to BUEI and never quite making it, today the pleasant walk along Front Street & into Crow Lane was well worth it. It's very quiet this time of year so it was wonderful to go around all the exhibits without being rushed or having screaming kids disturb the experience. It has now filled in many gaps in my knowledge of the island & more. Well worth a trip.

“Educational and Fun Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

This was a nice way to spend several hours in Hamilton, Bermuda. We went in mid-October and were the only guests in the museum. The invasive species exhibit was excellent. We also enjoyed the "submersible" trip bottom of the sea - fun!

Bus stops are nearby if you are using public transportation.

“A great way to spend a morning”

We visited the Institute on a recommendation from Heidi Cowan. It is well designed and very informative. The displays are interactive and very easy to use.

“Very interesting”

Lovely shell collection, fun time in the shark cage (kids would love it), fun in the simulated bathyscape. I wished my grandkids were there with us.

“Lovely attraction (with air conditioning)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 September 2013

I visited this attraction while in Bermuda on a cruise ship. Exhibits were great. I really liked the explanations on the tiger fish. I did not know it was in invasive specie. The shell collection was beautiful and the experience in the shark cage neat.

The 2 staff members I dealt with were really nice and polite (the front desk lady who sells the tickets and the other lady who asked me to fill out a short survey). The only thing that might need an adjustment is the hands-on exhibit near the entrance which did not seem to be working. I mentioned it to the front desk lady who tried it herself with no results. I am sure it has been resolved by now.

And by the way Bermuda was brutally hot when I was there and the Institute was air conditioned aaaaaahhhh. But this is not the main reason why I visited it...
