Fort Hamilton is right near downtown. You are elevated above the city so you will get some great views and a wonderful breeze to relax in. On a very hot day, take the long stairway deep under the fort and explore the tunnels. It is so cool down there you would think they are air conditioned! There are even ladders so you can pose by some of the cannons that surround the fort at the top.

“Grab a Scooter and Go!”

Everything on Bermuda is old and this old fort is worth a visit. We went by Scooter and stopped to crawl all over the fort, meanwhile taking in breathtaking ocean views.

“Must visit site in Bermuda”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

It is more like a botanical garden set into a fort. It is a short walk from town and a must see while in Hamilton. It is such a peaceful place, even with the canons all around.

“Worth a visit - excellent views”
Reviewed 14 May 2014

If you can find your way out of Hamilton to the East , above the fire station, Fort Hamiton offers exceptional views over the city of Hamilton. There are some canons and well maintained gardens. The moat around the fort, and the gun powder storage areas are also fun to explore. It is always quite peaceful and quiet.
