“Outstanding Service”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

As a family of 5 (3 adult children), we spent Memorial Day weekend at The Reefs. The service was outstanding, the Property very well-maintained. The staff at the hotel could not have done more to make this a very memorable vacation. We will certainly return and recommend this hotel with no hesitation!

We have stayed at the Reefs many times and always had the most exceptional experience. The staff are outstanding in their friendliness and the efficient way they all do their jobs. We have stayed in many rooms over the years and have always been happy with the appearance and cleanliness of the rooms. The pool area and beach area are the best. We love dining at the beach restaurant Coconuts and for a small extra fee you can dine on the beach, weather permitting. The main dining ( Ocean Echo) is also very pleasant with beautiful views of the ocean. The food is also very good. I highly recommend this hotel. But above all it is the staff that really makes a difference, and that the hotel has many repeat guests like ourselves

Room Tip: All rooms have an ocean view some limited but all have balconies. The pool rooms have all been ren...

This was our first trip to Bermuda so we did know exactly what to expect. The Reefs is a very nice resort hotel, typical of islands. It is situated on the cliffs overlooking the hotel's private beach which is great. The rooms are at different levels so if you have any issues walking make sure you are at the top of the hill, near the main building. We had a junior suite. Spectacular ocean and beach views and we were able to hear the surf all night. Room itself is nice but not great for a suite. Furniture was modern but the room was a little small. There was a step down that was a little dangerous. Very nice, and large, terrace. Bathroom was large with a large walk-in shower, but only one sink. Staff is extremely friendly. Walls between rooms are thin and we could hear conversations next door. One negative is that the front desk/concierges, although very pleasant, are not all that knowledgeable. One told us that a particular ferry runs on Saturdays when the ferry schedule clearly shows that it does not. Related to this is the house-keeping staff (or maybe this is also front desk) was a little weak. We had to ask three times to get extra hangars. And when we asked that they deliver ice so we could chill our champagne, the ice never arrived. Breakfast, which comes with most rooms, is a very nice buffet with omelets and waffles made to order. The two restaurants on premises are very good (not great) and the menus are somewhat limited if you are eating there every night. Location is good if you are staying on the Southern half of the island. It is a long taxi ride to the Northern part. All in all, very good and certainly to be considered as one of the top choices.

Room Tip: We had a junior suite (342) which had an okay sized room, a large bathroom, and a large terrace. Al...

The views from the Reefs are wonderful and the rooms are all close to the beach (no need for a shuttle like many other Bermuda hotels). The staff is nice and the food is good. The beach is very nice and pleasant. The fitness center isn't much to get excited about, but there is a cycle shop across the street where you can rent a bicycle and go for a ride around the island.

We stayed at the Reefs for 10 days and didn't want to leave. The propery is amazing and the rooms (we stayed in the Cliffside Rooms) had a great view. The only sound at night was the ocean. The food in the restaurants was also very good. Of special note was the staff. They were outstanding. They went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel special. I am now Facebook friends with one of the chefs and one of the waitresses. We can't wait to go back. Side note is that the bus to Hamilton or DockYards is right outside the property so you should buy a bus/ferry pass and save on cab fare.

Room Tip: I recommend the cliffside rooms as they have a great view and are very quiet.

The Reefs in Bermuda is amazing! From the rum swizzle punch upon arrival to the kind goodbyes from the Bellman, this is a place that makes you feel at home. It is quaint, charming and private. You don't feel overwhelmed with such a massive property that you can't get to the main part of the hotel without asking for a ride! The private beach and sand-side service means all you have to worry about is keeping on your sunscreen. Kayaks, snorkeling equipment and paddle-boards are all available at no additional cost. Coconuts offers dining beach side and you can even dine on the beach during the evening (if you request ahead of time). One thing to be aware of is that if you want to travel around the island, the distance to Hamilton or to the Dockyard (for example) is quite far and cab rides are costly.

The Reefs is really a special place. Perched on a cliff above the beautiful blue ocean with friendly and efficient staff, and a really nice beach. The Cliffside Rooms are not large, but a very nice, with a terrific view, lanai, two sink bathroom and walk-in shower. We liked our second floor unit toward the end of the cliff away from the main building. Ocean Echo breakfasts were excellent with an omelet maker and nice selection of fruit (the creamy bananas were terrific!) as well as smoked salmon, etc. Dinner at Ocean Echo was more informal than expected, with a solid, but routine menu. Nice shrimp tempura. Great view though. Nice bar, and really nice bartenders, like Mike. A couple of "event" themed nights with Calypso music one night, and a Mojito night on the terrace. Coconuts on the beach is an excellent place for lunch. A real on the ocean venue with good food. Loved the chicken wings, and their Bermuda chowder was one of the best we had. Excellent snorkeling among the rock outcrops. Very swimmable beach; crystal clear water. Good beach services. The one caveat to those who have some disability concerns is that there are no elevators between levels. The main building is at the top; there are some units close by that would be more amenable to those who cannot walk grades and steps. We loved the place, and will definitely return! Great place for a small board meeting.

Room Tip: see above tips on those who cannot handle grades and steps. Liked the rooms on the cliff away from...
