There are so many tours to see the turtles but I chose the speedboat option rather than spend a day on a catamaran - how glad I did.

This tour is run by Stephen (Steven) and daughter Kim and what a great team they are. Steve picked us from our hotel and the first impression you get is a guy who is friendly and loves his job / passion and like all Bajan's his island. We drove to Bridgetown and "checked in" and then climbed aboard his speedboat. After safety instructions we were off and Kim immediately looked after us offering drinks to all. I think we had 11 people on the boat which is a nice size group for this type of tour.

Our first stop was the sea turtles as there weren't too many boats in the area. Kim gave us strict instructions of the protocols of what we had to do when in the water so as not to scare off the turtles - pity some other groups didn't give such expert advice !!
Once in the water it wasn't long before the turtles appeared and I mean close encounter, close enough to touch. Add this to the fish already around it was exhilarating

Next point of interest was snorkeling over to wrecks with their fish colonies. Once back on board more drinks were offered before we set off for the reef - in Steve's boat it is great as the three engines rip into the water and you zip across the sea. At the reef we all followed Kim's lead and saw some lovely fish and more turtles.

Our final stop was at Sandy Lane Beach - pristine sand and time for a bit of relaxation! Chips and salsa dip were served along with the best rum punch on the island. It was then back to the harbour at full speed (or very fast anyway) great way to end the tour.

This tour is a must for any visitor to Barbados whether you are there for a fortnight or even a day tripper from the numerous cruise ships (we had a family on board from a ship).
You don't have the full lunch meal with gallons of drink, what you have is a sensible light snack and drinks ranging from soda / water to beer and once all the serious stuff is out the way the rum punch is provided. All snorkels / vests / masks and fins are high quality.

We loved this tour so much we tried to to do it again before we left but weren't able to .......but there is always next time :o)

We booked this excursion after another operator's boat was out of the water the week we were in Barbados.

This is not the same group that does the cruise ship excursion. This tour will take you to 3 different sites, where the cruise ship one is only 1-2.

This operator uses an Open decked Scarab and has smaller groups of less than 15 or so.

Stephen, the owner picked us up just outside the security gate to the cruise ship port and drove us into town where his boat is docked in the harbor. There we met his daughter Kim, and eventually some other people joined us.

Kim handles all of the guests' needs, while her dad Stephen pilots the boat and explains what all we were going to do. The boat is very fast, having (3) 250 hp engines and gets you to sites quickly and is a lot of fun if you enjoy riding in a speed boat on the open water. Stephen keeps it entertaining by making some turns close to shore so you can see some of the houses and resorts up close along the way.

Our first stop that day was the coral reef. All your gear is provided, which also included an inflatable snorkeling vest. I had never used one before, but tried it and it made floating a lot easier and took a lot of the work out of it. I would highly recommend using it to make the day not so tiring.

The next stop after was past the cruise ship port, and we were able to swim with some sea turtles. After which we went to the ship wreck area, where there were two different ships that had sunk in the harbor area. One was deliberately sunk in the late 20th century. This was my favorite part, as the fish in the area were amazing. Using the inflatable vest I was able to stay still and just float with the currents over the wrecks below.

Soft drinks were always available, and Kim served some rum punch and snacks in the afternoon when we were done and relaxing on the beach.

Overall a great excursion with a great pair of operators!

Beware of the local panhandlers when you get done with the cruise. They are very pushy, and will get into your personal space to put bracelets on you and then demand exhorbinant amounts of money for them.

As an excursion from our Cruise ship, we were very pleased. The guides were outstanding! They took great care in explaining everything we needed to do to keep safe & have fun. But not too boring for those of us who have done snorkeling. The ship wreck was an awesome collage of colors covered in coral & schools of fish. Then swimming with turtles was breathtaking! Seeing these animals up close and touching them is amazing. The guides stress the respect we should have in entering their habitat. A must do in Barbados!!

This week we arrived via our cruise ship to Barbados. We had scheduled a trip aboard the Thriller after reviewing it on Trip Advisor. We were so happy that we were able to have this experience and we were not disappointed. Steven was great. He took us to 3 stops as promised and he made sure that there wasn't anybody else around while we were snorkeling. We got to pet the turtles and snorkely above the ship wrecks. I personally was afraid of the name because I'm not really one for thrills but I was completely comfortable in his boat. Also, the drinks were plentiful and our follow shipmates were great as well. We also had a wonderful beach stop at the end that was especially relaxing. This was a great excursion and I highly recommend it to everyone.

We were recommend this trip by the operator we originally wanted and can see why.
Steven (dad) and Kim (daughter) looked after my family very well and were great hosts.
I have now swum with the turtles at least 10 times so I am probably getting a little blasé but I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and the company.
Do yourself a favour and avoid the large trips and take a small craft to see the turtles, you'll have a much better time.
