Owner description: Come join us for an award winning, relaxed fun day of sailing a 43 foot catamaran boat that cruises along the coast of Barbados! We sail with limited numbers to ensure a more personal and intimate experience. Our 5 hour tour includes pick up from your hotel/resort/ship, snorkeling with the turtles, ship wreck or reef and a leisurely lunch stop. We provide snorkeling gear, hors d' houerves while we sail, a full 'Bajan buffet lunch [this includes local fish, baked chicken, macaroni pie, pasta salad, potato salad, tossed salad and dinner rolls/garlic bread & delicious deserts] and an open bar to keep you hydrated and relaxed. We serve wine, rum punch, coffee, tea, juices and soft drinks throughout the day! We have cruises during the day and evening cruises. Warning: don't save this for your last day, you will want to do it again during your stay in Barbados! You can also book a private cruise! Our boat is available for private charter for those of you that want the boat for a birthday party, wedding party, or just an intimate getaway. For this we charge by the hour, with a minimum of 3 hour or for as long as you would like the experience to last. We usually take a maximum of 14 guests but we allow up to 20 people for these cruises. Calypso Girl is a 2003 43ft fontaine pajot sailing catamaran that is very comfortable and stable, perfect for just about every one. She has a custom ladder making it easy to get in and out of the water. A huge head (bath room) , indoor and out door seating so you can get just the right amount of sun, and a big front net for you to relax on.

Sorry this review is a little late....we visited August 2013.
Nick was prompt with all his emails and answering my questions. The fee was comparable to other charters but I felt like we got a lot with the Calypso. Hotel transfers also included and prompt. There is also a bathroom on board.
There was 10 of us (5 adults and 5 kids, ages 4-9) and we got the boat to ourselves. It takes 14, but we were lucky no one else booked that day. It had enough seating for us to sit all together at the back in mostly shade or on the front on the netting (no shade). Limitless supply of drinks and plenty of lunch. Cookies (kids were happy!) and coffee when we boarded. Some appetizers before lunch as well.
Staff was Day and Nick, and a woman, sorry forgot her name. Nick did most of the sailing and went into the water with us as well. Nick and Day have boogie boards and all the non swimmers (most of the kids) and a couple of adults held on to these as they pulled us around to snorkel. My daughter who has snorkeled twice before didn't use to like it, but she LOVED Day! He pulled her and her friend around for what seemed like hours! And they had such a great time seeing the fish at all the shipwrecks and lots of turtles too. He was so comforting and started slowly so she wouldn't be scared. He even talked her into feeding the fish which was the highlight of the trip for her. Even the 2 adults that are not comfortable in the water had a fun time snorkeling! Nick and Day gave as much help in the water as needed.
I found that the staff was what made the trip! We got to see so many fish, were informative guides, and they answered any questions we had about Barbados.
The weather was not cooperative when we were swimming with the turtles, but we were all wet anyway, so some rain didn't bother us. Some chose to stay on the boat.
They also stopped as close as they could to an beach to have lunch on board and then we could easily swim a few feet and then walk to shore. Which was great for the kids and non swimmers.
I contacted and researched a few catamaran companies listed on Trip Advisor, and they all seem similar, but Nick gave me the best feeling and I'm so happy we decided to go with them. You can't go wrong with them!!! They'll work with you and your needs and you'll have the experience of a lifetime!
