“Decent food; inconsistent service”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

We first ate at this small kebab shop on our first night in Barbados - it was later and we didn't feel like a full meal. We ordered a beef kebab wrap and a falafel wrap. The beef wrap was great, seasoned as if they were using lamb, which would be more traditional. The falafel wrap was good - not great. But the overall experience made us want to return, and so we went one day, arriving just before they opened at noon. We were the only ones there and even though they didn't open for 10 more minutes, they took our order for another beef kebab wrap, a chicken kebab wrap, and a side plate of hummus. This was at 10 minutes to 12. At 12:20 we were still waiting. By 12:30 we were still waiting, and at least 2 people had come and been served before our food was ready. Finally around 12:40 our food was brought out. The beef kebab was good as before. The chicken kebab wrap was not my favorite, it just did not have an authentic Middle Eastern flavor to it. And the hummus plate was very small, and there were no pitas. After our first visit I would have given this perhaps 5 stars. But the ridiculous wait for our food on the second visit, when we were the first ones to arrive, was unforgivable. If there had been a crowd with others in front of us, it would have been understandable, but not when we were the first to arrive. And I just didn't really like the chicken kebab wrap that much.

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback.

I am sorry you did not get to experience the service that we pride ourselves on.

While we generally open at 12PM, we take orders in person or via the telephone from 11:30AM. We start firing orders at 12PM. Most of our customers call ahead to place their orders because they understand that it can take at minimum, 10 minutes, for their order to be ready and they appreciate that all of our orders are freshly prepared and fired. Depending on how busy it is, an order can take up to 20-25 minutes. Nothing is ever pre-cooked. It is worth noting that orders placed in the evening as prepared faster than in the afternoon because it is less busy

While you may have placed your order before 12PM, there were other orders that would have been placed before yours and we would fire them in the order they were received. You were notified of the above and you were given an estimated time frame. When we realised we would be serving your order a few minutes later than the estimated time, we approached you and told you this. You told us it was no problem, and we proceeded with completing your order.

As for the beef wrap, it would have been lamb that you received and we explain to our customers whether it is lamb or beef that is being served. I am sorry you didn't enjoy the chicken kebab and I wish you had brought it to our attention so that we can fairly compensate you for it, we want our customers to be happy and feel comfortable with us regardless of anything. Also, we do not serve pita bread, but we do offer Arabic flat bread which is an add-on option for the hummus and you did not request it.

Again, I would like to thank you for taking the time out to write this review!

“excellent meal”
Reviewed 25 June 2014

What a lovely meal we had on our visit, the food was fresh and cooked very well, We enjoyed sitting outside in the sunshine on the couple of tables and chairs. The chicken and salads that we had were very good value and excellent quality. I would recommend the place to anyone in the area wanting lunch thats just a little different to the usual rotis or stews....the staff were so helpfull in selecting the different foods , , there was a constant stream of customers who were also enjoying the foods on offer.

I have to say I popped in for just a quick snack and ended up having a lot more than expected. The kebabs were so good I ordered a second. Absolutely delicious, extremely good value and delightful people.

Spice is life! We are advocates for food with a little kick...but don't worry, we can make our kebabs "kick-free." Thank you so much for the review!

Thanks for taking the time out to review us, we love getting feedback! The lamb kebab is one of our newer additions and it's been quite a hit! I'm happy that you enjoyed it. It typically takes about 12 minutes for a freshly prepared wrap, however, when it is busy it can take up to 20 minutes and we do apologise for keeping you from another wrap!
