We were staying at Sugar Hill so this was a short walk through the gardens. No driving so no restrictions on the cocktails - which were delicious. Service was excellent and the food very tasty. lovely view over the infinity pool.

We were staying at Royal Westmoreland and passed the sign for this place daily which is located in the Sugar Hill development on the West Coast. Somehow the sign never invited us in but a tennis partner suggested the restaurant was great for Sunday lunch with great views of the West Coast. We couldn't make Sunday lunch but went for lunch on another day and we were not disappointed. We were reassured when we arrived to see the proprietor of one of the top 2 restaurants on the island having lunch at Sassafras! The position of the restaurant by the lovely pool with great views over the coast is idyllic and matched by the food and service. Well worth a trip.

We enjoyed our meals, and were fortunate to have chosen an evening with live music which always adds to the ambiance. The restaurant overlooks a beautiful pool which overlooks the whole coast. My husband's catch of the day was amazing, my red snapper was good, but not excellent. We were the first ones in the restaurant and yet it seemed our service was slow, and we had trouble getting the bill. Otherwise we were happy. It is inside a gated community, Sugar Hill. I think its quiet because few people try it as they think they won't be allowed into the complex. We had a wonderful evening, and would go again.

We had a great lunch here. Excellent food in a totally relaxing environment, where the views of the island's greenery inland made a change from the sands and seas of similar restaurants. A bit of a shame we couldn't continue our time here with a languid half hour in the pool which the restaurant overlooks; apparently that's for residents only. Nonetheless we will definitely come back for more.
