We spent our wedding night at The Sandpiper five years ago and it was BEYOND AWESOME! So for our 5th Anniversary, we did our long overdue honeymoon in the same tree top suite. It was like going home. From the moment you arrive the personal attention and attention to detail is amazing. The suite is fantastic, so beautiful and well laid out. They even had novels in our room for reading. They thought of everything. Room service amazing and prompt and no extra charge for room service. We had breakfast brought to us each morning and set up on the table on the patio, the perfect way to start your day. The staff are wonderful and so very professional. The hotel is so well designed that even through there were several guests inhouse, you never felt crowded. The way it is laid out allows privacy that is amazing. We had dinner both at Coral Reef Club (sister property) and The Sandpiper. Both outstanding experiences. Again the service was stellar, the menu extensive. I can't say enough about The Sandpiper. Words do not do it justice. You have to actually experience it for yourself. We have stayed at many, many hotels around the world, and by far, The Sandpiper is our favourite. We did not want to leave. We feel so very comfortable and at home there. THANK YOU SANDPIPER for making our 5th Anniversary so very memorable. GO TO THE SANDPIPER. We will definitely stay there again and again and again.........

We recently came back from our trip to Barbados and we loved every minute of it. A lot of that had to do with the resort we stayed at, The Sandpiper. When we started planning our trip we had no clue about the island and in fact pretty much picked Barbados due to availability of the flights when we wanted to go. After booking the flights we started looking at hotels and at first it wasn't very promising. We have a 15 month old son so wanted to pick a place that was quite, welcomed kids but wasn't overrun with children. We looked at many different hotels and actually read a lot of reviews on TripAdvisor before finally deciding on The Sandpiper. And what a pick it was!

The Staff: The Staff of the Sandpiper was the best part about the hotel. They are prompt, courteous, fun-loving and overall awesome. Except for 1 or 2 matter of fact bartenders everyone on the resort from the breakfast servers to gardners were amazing. We were greeted by the manager Russell when we arrived and that set the tone. When we had booked we didn't know the resort policy of booking a suite for a family with child so only booked a room. No problem. We got upgraded at no additional charge to the suite (more about the suite later). At next day breakfast we met Alviena and she was an absolute joy. She welcomed us as if she would welcome family into her home. She helped us with dining suggestions, what to do and generally cheered us up whenever we saw her. All of the staff were very gracious and loving towards our son which was a huge factor. He loved everyone, was being carried around by the watersport staff, made a mess with no complaints from anyone and generally had a blast. That was a major relief for us as we were worried that we might get treated differently for having a toddler in tow. Sean and crew at the watersports were a lot of fun as well.

The Resort facilities/Rooms: the resort it self is wonderful. It is small, quaint and feels secluded yet walking distance to tons of restaurants, shopping etc. As I mentioned before we were upgraded to a suite and it was awesome. We had our own living room, kitchen, a large outside patio with loungers and a small dining table. The room had clean, new looking furnitures and the bathroom was spacious with his and her sinks. The hotel even put in a crib and a high chair for our son. They thought of everything even without us having to ask. They had a turndown service everynight and leave these delicous coconut cookies by the bedside. The beach was very close to our room and we spent every day at the beach. Since the resort is on the gold coast the water was gentle, ideal for little kids. The resort provides beach chairs and towels so you don't have worry about anything. They even have a watersports desk that will loan you catamarans, canoes, snorkels and all kinds of watersport equipment free of charge. The resort even has a speedboat that can take you water skiing, snorkeling or just for a ride. We had no idea before we got there so it was all a pleasant surprise. There was very little need to go anywhere else. They have a pool as well which we went to couple of times but with an awesome beach right there, it is used very little. The grounds are well mainained, beautiful and even have tennis courts.

Food/Restaurants/Surrounding area: The Sandpiper is walking distance to some really nice shops in an open air mall called the Lime Grove which is brand new and has some really nice, trendy restaurants. We went there couple of times for dinner. Food we found to be amazingly delicious everywhere we went. There is also a grocery store nearby which was very convenient if you have small kids and need milk, snacks etc. Great restaurants in Holetown (the nearest town). So the location of the resort is a huge plus. The food on the resort was great as well. We had breakfast there everyday and it was very, very good.

All in all we loved the place. It was our first time at The Sandpiper and definitely won't be our last. I think we will try to visit the resort at least every other year.

Room Tip: Go during off season which seems to be early July. Ask for a room in the new wing if you can as we stayed there.

On our second visit to The Sandpiper we found it to be every bit as good as we remembered. The gardens and grounds, pool and beach area were immaculate, the rooms clean and tastefully furnished and the staff never failed to make our day special. Although we were not on a meal plan we ate in the restaurant 6 nights out of 14. High praise indeed when Holetown has many good restaurants. The proximity to Holetown makes The Sandpiper ideally situated. A big thank you to all the staff who made our stay so special, from the ladies at reception to the guys in the bar, restaurant, and water sports, you all played your part. I can’t sign off without a special thank you to the bundle of energy that is Alviena. Looking forward to returning one day.

I am staying with my daughter on a 'bonus' holiday as she just finished her 'A' levels and I unusually had some free time... the rest of the family stayed in the UK due to school etc.

We booked the Sandpiper mainly because I am such a great fan of the sister hotel 'Coral Reef' but Coral Reef was closed for some refurbishment. Well we certainly lucked out as this is a great hotel run by a team of wonderful staff. We love the beach, the watersports facilities and of course the fab restaurant. Our room is very nice and we want for nothing more!

Great hotel. Great Staff. So very pleased we made this choice.
