“Perfect gem of a hotel on the most fabulous of beaches”

It's been a few years since I went myself but my parents continue to frequent this gorgeous boutique hotel and it cannot be recommended enough. Barbados truly is beautiful and this is the perfect place to enjoy it. The food is delicious, the staff really helpful and friendly. Enjoy!

Room Tip: the rooms at the front of the hotel are the best right on the beach but they cost more. they have t...

We were recommended to this hotel by a friend who was convinced it was a better bet than Sandy Lane having stayed at both. Upon arrival, we were a little shocked as the entrance is definitely not that impressive but once inside it quickly became clear that the warmth of the welcome made up for any doubts we might have had.

We were greeted by the hotel’s excellent General Manager Jason who warmly welcomed us and explained how it was the hotel’s mission to ensure we had a memorable stay. We were given a welcoming drink and taken to our rooms with the absolute minimum of fuss. The setting of the hotel is stunning and just cannot be appreciated from the front. There are two wings to the hotel each 3 stories high and the pool is in the middle no more than 30 feet from the beach.

Each room is in effect a small suite with a lounge, bedroom and bathroom. The bathrooms are newly refurbished and are excellent with 2 sinks, a bath and a separate shower. The bedroom is spacious, beautifully clean and equipped with a really comfy bed. You wouldn’t describe the rooms as extravagantly luxurious more comfortable but everything is in tip top condition and everything is beautiful and clean. One point to note is that the air-conditioning is only in the bedroom so if you are intending to use the sofa bed in the lounge there is only a fan in the roof.

With one minor exception the staff are simply superb – nothing seems to be too much trouble and they always seem to answer “yes” to any particular request. They organise taxis for you, recommend good restaurants s and generally come across as extremely helpful and friendly. The one minor exception was the beach attendant who did seem to be a little over zealous at wanting to collect in the sun beds at the end of the day which did make you feel a bit guilty if you wanted to stay and see the sometimes beautiful sunsets. However, this was a very minor negative.

The hotel always feels very welcoming and always safe. The beach it stands on is understandably rated as one of the best on the Island and frankly was just glorious. In the hotel guide it makes it clear that there is no need to reserve a sun bed as there is always one available – and they were. It also says that “tips are neither expected or required” which always makes you feel more relaxed about requesting for help. We have always found that it is the best cruise lines that have the confidence to say similar things.

Dinner at the hotel was excellent although given the rather small number of guests ( the hotel was about to close for its 6 weeks maintenance session) it did occasionally lack atmosphere although the quality of the food more than made up for this. The weekly cocktail party was a great opportunity to meet your fellow guests.

Our room was quite literally 20 steps away from the beach which made it all the more special.

The big question always must be “would we go again?” – at the very moment we first arrived and saw the front we did think “Oh no what have we come to” although within minutes of setting foot inside the hotel we realised that we had unearthed a real diamond – a little like discovering a fine country house hotel in the middle of England. There is no doubt we will revisit and, having also viewed a number of the bigger competitor hotels we were absolutely convinced that Treasure Beach was the best hotel.

Room Tip: We were in rooms 201 and 202 - probably the very closest to the sea - as little as 20 steps!!

We stayed here for 14 nights in early June, this was our first visit to Treasure Beach but our 13th to Barbados! Loved everything about TB but particularly how peaceful it was which made it so easy to relax and no early morning rush to get a sun bed! Our room was well furnished and comfortable although the shower cubicle was tired and could do with a retile, however the actual shower worked superbly. The rooms have a separate sitting area and a sink, kettle, toaster and under counter fridge with an icebox which we found extremely useful ( can't be doing with stocked minibars!). The room was cleaned to a good standard daily and turn down service was available if required. The beach was beautiful and you could walk in both directions for a good walk, especially when the tide is out as you can walk round to Sandy Lane and beyond. Afternoon was available daily and freest fruit kebabs served mid morning, all these little touches make our holiday complete. Jason, the Manager is around most days and always ready to chat and listen to your comments. We had one small issue with our room during our stay and it was rectified immediately, not something that would happen so quickly in a bigger hotel! The breakfasts were good with variety and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Ate in the hotel one evening and the food was excellent however we choose to go out and about to try different restaurants and meet up with friends of an evening. All in all cannot fault TB, yes there are a few areas that could do with updating but this is the Caribbean and things take time to happen! TB represents value for money on the West Coast and is in an excellent location, we will be back Jason!

We returned to Barbados for the second time in 13 months and having been so pleased with Treasure Beach last May, determined to stay there again this June.
The new manager last year, Jason Patterson, had clearly removed a few rough edges over the interveening 13 months. Service was tighter, place had been spruced up particularly the garden which was under control and picturesque, food good and similar warm welcome, this time almost as old freinds returning.
It is just a peaceful haven, no brats, away from the noise and bussle of the gap etc, but close to restaurants and good shopping, and with easy access to all parts of the island if you hire a car which we did this time.
Ate in very happily on 2 nights; all food just as good as last year.
We were very happy and will return to both the island and T Beach hotel.

Room Tip: just ask, they are very accomodating

We stayed at Treasure Beach for our Honeymoon and returned for our 10th and now 20th anniversaries. We'd go back more if we could or can, too. It's not just for couples as there were people there by themselves from various countries and a few families. The Hotel is small, but very well designed with an open air lobby that helps get a breeze gently flowing through the open air restaurant and out to the sea. The Hotel has a horse-shoe shaped foot print that opens to one of the best beaches in the world, highlighted with a shady Mahogany tree at the edge of the beach, which provides shade to read and cool off. The design of the hotel is unique in that all or most rooms have some view of the Caribbean and open onto a beautiful courtyard with well kept lush plants and flowers. The Hotel is small and quiet, so it's a perfect place to get away and unwind, have a 5-Star quiet dinner overlooking the sea, and get a great night's rest and lay on the beach. The Spa was added in the last year and Carolyn does a wonderful job there -- I recommend the Swedish 1-hour massage, but I bet that all of the Spa's services are great. Treasure Beach has a great restaurant called Kathy's, where Kirk who is Barbadian and studied all over the world is the head chef, and nice bar and you can take your meals and/or drinks by the pool or on the beach.

Treasure Beach is extremely well staffed with talented and knowledgeable people, many of whom have been there many many years and treat each guest with great attention. They learn what you like and have it there for you. Jason Patterson, the hotel's manager, couldn't be nicer or more attentive. Coming from the U.S., afternoon Tea, was fun, as a beach break and a good English tradition. If you want excitement such as Jet-Ski's and Sailing, it's just to the left and right on the beach or the staff can call for anything you want to do. You can ask the staff at the beach for a snorkel, mask, and fins and swim out and pet the sea turtles, when the tours come in and feed them. It's just off-shore from the hotel and not to far a swim if you're okay in the water. If not, there are a half dozen glass bottom boats on the beach that will take you for a reasonable fee and you can snorkel off of those. Treasure Beach is a perfect place to get away, but it's not Atlantis in the Bahamas, and that's actually a good thing, unless one needs a lot of bling and blinky lights all day. Relax, enjoy and return.

Room Tip: The hotel is small, so there really isn't a bad room. For a little more, you can be really clos...

Stayed here for a week in June. Alovely small hotel right on the beach. We were in room 2o which was great but if we were to go back we would ask for a ground floor room as you can then sit outside on sun loungers right by your sitting room. We ate a few times here and the meals were fabulous, as good as any we had elsewhere. The staff are all 'of a certain age' and have been at the hotel a long time so know when to chat and when to leave you alone. Personally i think the hotel could benefit from a couple of younger staff just to shake it up occasionally!
We did an island tour which was very good and also a deep sea fishing trip which i would recommend.
If we were to go back to Barbados we would stay at Treasure Beach.

Room Tip: Choose a ground floor room.

Treasure Beach is one the smaller hotels and all the better for it. It was first opened in 1977 so it's been there a while now. You get the feeling you've stepped back in time to the way Barbados used to be before all the tall buildings were built.

It's on the southern end of Paynes Bay so very handy for a quick drive to Holetown. We enjoyed most of the dishes served in the hotel, but if you don't want to eat there every night you can walk to a couple of restaurants nearby.

The staff were friendly and efficient. They leave you alone to enjoy your stay but are there whenever you need something. We'd definitely go back to Treasure Beach.

Room Tip: As always, ground floor rooms provide better access for the pool, garden, etc but upper floor rooms...
