The food and service we received was good, not exceptional.

Watching the stingrays from your table and the desserts are the only two things about this restaurant that really make it stand out from the crowd.

At a fraction of the cost, nearby restaurant Tides has excellent food and service with a brilliant sea view. Comparing the two makes The Cliff disappointing when considering its high recommendations.

That being said, I would go again.

We had a great evening, staff were lovely, food was fantastic as were the cocktails and the wine. I am surprised at some of the negative comments on here, we had such a good evening, even got signed copies of The Cliff cookbook to try some of the wonderful recipes at home. Would definitely recommend a visit here, it may not be the cheapest in town but not to be missed.

When compared to the other fabulous restaurants near by The Cliff is completely overpriced. It pains me to say it as without doubt the food was exquisite amd the views were amazing however we also ate at Tides and Cin Cin and the cost of both of these meals combined was the same as the cost of The Cliff and it certainly didn't have the edge to justify the price tag!!

Totally agree with Vilamen review. Great welcome by extremely friendly gentlemen In the car park. we ordered drinks in the bar and the barman was as miserable as sin. Went down to our table and the staff were sullen so much so I wonder why they seemed totally demotivated! We tried to be pleasant and crack a few jokes but they didn't even acknowledge our comments. Food was ok but certainly not worth the money. Setting lovely but would never return.

It was my birthday as it was two other people's too that evening. They got a happy birthday serenade and I got a plate chucked down in front of me with not even a happy birthday! When I joked 'nobody sang happy birthday to me' again no acknowledgement from the miserable waiter.

Shocking. Get a grip the Cliff. You are not that great and certainly not worth £400 for 3 for a mediocre meal and staff that lack interpersonal skills - you spoiled my special birthday! You don't deserve your over inflated rating on tripadvisor.

First class formal dining fare by the water on the western coast of Barbados. The setting is very well done, the dining is on two levels overlooking cerulean blue waters, with the lower level about 3-4m up from sea level - a very picturesque westward-looking view.

The quality of service is first rate. Everyone has been well trained to be pleasant and attentive, and super-efficient.

if you make a reservation, consider making it for around 7:00 pm, so that you may see the feeding of the stingrays, as mentioned elsewhere. Otherwise, sunset is usually a little earlier here if you want to catch that.

We initially had a poor table, asked for a better one upon being seated, and had one within about 10 minutes. This wouldn't always be possible obviously, but they were very gracious - better still, if you want a great seaside table then be sure to specify it when you make your reservation. They will ask for your credit card information when you're doing this - and there may be a fee if you don't show up.

The food was excellent - it's clear that they go the extra mile to use only the very best raw materials and ingredients, whether it is seafood or red meat. The meals are set up as a 2 course meal at a fixed price, (same for all) with a very nice selection of first and second courses from the Standard and Special menus.. The flavors are all very nicely blended and subtle.

Truly a fine dining experience......but..... for 4 of us the bill was $650 US, with one cocktail each and only a single glass of wine (one person). Is it worth the money? Very special occasions only, for most people I would say.
