“Truly Amazing Dining Experience”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

We love this place!

I booked a table three weeks before coming to Barbados as a special surprise birthday meal for my husband (family meal : husband, myself and our 9yo son).

The cliff was recommended to me by a close friend.

Booking was simple - I phoned from the UK, explained it was a birthday surprise, and they emailed me confirmation within 5 minutes of the call.

The Cliff was a truly amazing dining experience - the ambience was very stylish and the atmosphere very relaxed. Leather settees and comfy chairs with dimmed lighting and blazing torches added to the ambience. We did have rain but this didn't detract from our outdoor waterside fine dining experience as at the touch of a button we were under a canvas canopy (this particularly thrilled our son).

I would add here that there is a strict dress code - "elegantly casual" - dress shorts and shirts fine for the gentlemen, so don't worry too much ... Just steer clear of beachwear and flip flops and you will be fine.

The cuisine didn't let us down and was by far the best food we have had in a long time. The cliff even adapted the menu to our sons more simple tastes by, at his request, omitting spicy sauces and just keeping the food simple.

Service was very attentive, discrete proactive and unobtrusive.

At the end of our meal my husband was even serenaded Bajan style with tunes of happy birthday together with a miniature cake and candle - nice touch.

Thankyou, The Cliff, for an outstanding meal and fine dining experience - you exceeded our expectations by far.

“Excellent 7-course Taster menu”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

We had the excellent 7-course Taster menu and it was delicious! Highly recommend it. The setting is beautiful and wonderful to see the stingrays and tapin fish. A very special place.

“Fantastic experience”
Reviewed 17 July 2014 via mobile

The Cliff had been recommended to us and we booked before we came to Barbados so we could guarantee a waterside table. We arrived early and had cocktails in the bar overlooking the bay where we saw the stingrays swimming in the lights. Lovely start to the evening. We were then shown to our table overlooking the Sea. The service and food was first class and we couldn't fault it. We really appreciated the way they adapted the menu to cater for our 9 year old. Ok it is expensive but I think the experience warranted it.

“Its worth it”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

So what are you saving your money for? You are in Barbados.. you paid for your air fare, room etc. You have to go to the best restaurant on the island. Dinner anywhere else (nice restaurant ie. Champers) is going to cost you 70% of what you pay here. The bar and lounge upstairs are great , I would go an hour before my reservation time and enjoy a nice glass of wine while taking in the view. The wait staff were great and Peter Harris came by to welcome us personally. I had the barracuda and loved it.
bartenders showed me some special rum recipes. Go around 7 and watch the chef feed the sting rays and terrapin.
A very special night for us

“A great location but no way with the food !!!”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

The location is really unique !! You eat surrounded by fire lights and right on the beach .....service is well trained but If you ask for a sword fish rare has to be rare.....and the rice is too cooked no way.....expecially If you pay 360us dollars for two persons !!! The plates are in the average not for a place and a price like that !!
Will not go again !!!!
