Our family of divers stayed in the two-bedroom guest house adjacent to the resort over spring break. This was our 6th visit to Bonaire and our first stay with CPR -- we weren't disappointed! After having stayed at various places around the island - from B&B to condo to luxury resort - we chose CPR based on its proximity to Buddy Dive and the northern dive sites, easy access to a beach, and creature comforts (e.g., full sized kitchen, A/C in all rooms, pool, place to rinse and store gear securely). I should note that we're low-key travelers who prefer doing things ourselves.

We arrived early and on a day that Louise, who was very helpful in arranging our booking, was away. Kenny, one of the owners, spoke to the cleaners who were prepping the guest house and arranged for our luggage to be stored while we completed paperwork for our dive package, truck, etc. He gave us helpful tips for grocery options and restaurant recommendations. Margaret, his wife, then gave us a tour of the house and property, providing tips on the nearby spa and seaside bar/restaurant. The owners were both so warm and welcoming.

The house was spotless, roomy and included comfy seating as well as a good selection of cookware, dishes, etc. Though we're not big TV watchers there were TVs in both bedrooms and the LR. A/C and ceiling fans were located in both bedrooms and LR also - very helpful for controlling temps. Wifi worked great. We had trouble with the larger of the bedroom safes but Kenny came over and fixed it -- literally getting on his hands and knees to do so.

Housekeeping came twice during the week, which wasn't a big deal for us. The crew was thorough, professional and left us with plenty of clean bath and beach towels. Since they usually came in the early afternoon when we were having lunch/taking a break we'd have to do a bit of moving around so that we wouldn't be in the way but with two different outdoor seating areas it wasn't a problem. We used the outside shower to rinse our dive gear and hung it to dry on our patio furniture; at night we'd take the expensive stuff indoors. We liked having our gear handy for that occasional night snorkel on the beach (a two-minute walk away). Oh - and the window/patio door screens were in great condition -- a must given the mosquitoes on the island.

And it was great to have our truck waiting for us when we got to CPR. Dropping it off en route to the airport for our flight back was a breeze -- the truck rental company drove us and our luggage to the airport.

We're already looking forward to our return; in the meantime, we're reminded of our wonderful visit whenever we see the cheerful angelfish mobile (compliments of CPR) hanging in our daughter's room. Thanks for a terrific vacation Kenny, Margaret & Louise - we'll see you next spring!

Tips:
Our family's favorite eateries: Mona Lisa & Wil's (dinner); Between Two Buns (lunch/takeaway); Gio's (dessert/coffee)
Groceries: Van Den Tweel (modern supermarket by airport)
Remember to bring your own aspirin, cold medicine, drug store supplies -- otherwise, you'll have to go the main drugstore in town where you won't be able to buy cough medicine without a prescription

This was a great place to stay when visiting Bonaire. It is perfectly located close to down town, gas stations, grocery stores, and of course, all the dive sights. It is also basically next door to both Buddy Dive and Captain Don's if you need tanks and other dive related gear.

If you want you can dive right from the resort. There is a three minute walk to a public access to the beach with an easy and awesome shore dive which can take you either left or right from the beach. This was nice for night dives as all we had to do was walk home and then go to bed.

The room was clean and had everything that you would need for your stay. The location is super quiet and the resort had everything you need to have a great time. The pool was a good size, fresh water and always clean. There were wash tanks with access to a hose and fresh water for any gear to be rinsed. There was also fresh water that you could bring with you for your shore dives. Although we did not use it there is a barbeque and outside kitchen available for guests as well. All rooms look out to the pool and to the palm trees around it which was nice. Even though the resort is not on the water we did not feel like we were missing the ocean at all since it was so close and the property was so well taken care of.

We were so well taken care of at Coral Paradise that we would go back in a heartbeat. They arranged everything for us so all we had to do was show up. They had our truck there ready, dive package paid for and ready to go, and they even picked up groceries for us as we arrived late on Good Friday and we wanted to have supper and breakfast available. They were always available is we needed them and were helpful and friendly at all times. It was a pleasure to meet them and stay at the resort,

Room Tip: Make sure you let them know if you cannot do stairs as they have bottom floor level suites available.

We just completed our fourth trip to Bonaire and our third stay at Paradise. Post Bonaire Depression is setting in and the only known cure is a return to Paradise! The last three trips we have stayed at Coral Paradise and these folks just keep getting better. They're so helpful with everything concerning the trip. From the moment that you arrive you are treated like family with any assistance needed. It begins with the booking and continues with your arrival at the airport with the taxi to the resort. When you get to Paradise it only improves. Anything that you need to know or any assistance needed all you have to do is ask, they are there to help. They are great with recommendations and reservations for meals, giving assistance for communicating back to the states, arranging some Wild Side diving, Margaret willingly shared some of her Special mosquito bite treatment for my wife ( the mosquito's really like her). When we left Paradise at 4:45 AM on Saturday morning for 7:30 flight back, I thought about putting Kenny to THE TEST. My dive bag wheels don't roll very good on the gravel in the parking lot. When I mentioned this to my wife, she told me to put on my Big Boy Pants and load the bag! She is Kenny's friend! There are fancier resorts and there are less expensive resorts on the island, but Coral Paradise is just right for what we look for in a dive resort.

Room Tip: All the rooms are laid out the same. The upper balconies have more privacy and the lower rooms have easier pool access and no stairs. We prefer the lower rooms.

Wife and I just got home from 1 week there. It is a small resort, but with the best staff on the island...Louise met us right off and handled everything for us. She handled anything we needed. Kenny and Margaret are just awesome people. Being from the south as we are, it is no wonder why they are so down to earth being from New Orleans.. Right off we hit it good with them. They provided my wife with free snorkeling gear and showed us around. They both were very helpful for our needs. Being a small resort, they spend time with you. You are not a number to them like other places. We stayed in room 8 which was I believe their old home before they built an amazing home right on the premises. Every day they were there talking to their customers.
So the bad things... Bruised knees... Watch out for those beds!! the mattress hides the knee killer!! we learned real quick to move the covers to reveal the frames lol...
The patio glass doors... I guess being an American I expect to go in and out of a sliding glass door the same way, but for some reason, there is only a handle on the inside.... coming back in, make sure your hands are dry or you may get frustrated trying to open it :) Just maybe the dutch like to go out 1 door and in another door? :) We opted to do the breakfast buffet they partner with called Rum Runners... Wont ever do that again. The buffet was small, the same every day, and poor quality. Eggs were powdered, waffles for letgomyego frozen junk, and just not well handled.. So save your money, don't do that. I chose to use Buddy Dive for the free Nitrox. Worked well for a few days until Buddy Dive started lying to us and not taking us on dives we paid for... So use someone else... Beware of the home owner just outside the gate to head down to water, he is a total jerk... Kenny and I got into a heated battle with him (which Kenny handled well and polite). If I was there without Kenny, I am sure to have tossed his butt in the ocean and not let him up for air! He will not let you even stand there, so walk by his house, jump right in, don't stand around... In the USA, he wouldn't act like that to people because we handle things differently here... I think the worst part, and its an island thing, was the state bird called the Mosquito.... I have been in rain forests and never been tore up so bad.. even with bug spray on, they still nailed me. So, don't leave your doors open for more than it takes you to get in and out.. You fall asleep, they don't... They eat you all night long!

The Good: Well, everything else really.... They had our truck there waiting for us, rooms were kept up nicely, and they helped us in anything we needed. They got to know US.... The rooms had 2 DBL Beds.. I wish there was an option for a king or queen for a couple but I know most of time there its about numbers. This resort by far is the best of the best. We didn't care what it cost because the reviews were so good about this place. The management is what separates this place from the rest. Yes you can go cheaper.. Yes you can go bigger.... But you will be just a number to everyone else.... We dove so many places while there and the couple that I remember most, were outside that resort. Dive there and swim north, it gets good. Snorkeling was also really good there. Thanks again to all 3 of you.. Hope to see you again soon!

The island of Bonaire is very special; excellent diving/snorkeling, only one casino, breathe taking national parks, a fun donkey reserve run by a charity to rescue feral donkeys, great weather, clean town, friendly people and the island generates a feeling of safety. The local restaurants serve everything from simple to gourmet foods; Sonia's that is nearby was my favorite. English, Dutch, and Spanish seem to be widely spoken. The Coral Paradise contains eight spacious units equipped with kitchen appliances/tools. It is kept clean and maintained. The owners (Margaret and Kenny) are very personable, helpful, and engaging while ensuring your needs are met. They patiently answer questions and seem to genuinely care about you enjoying your stay. They also help with renting a high clearance truck, arrange airport transportation and in general, help make the trip to Bonaire an easy and happy one. The pool is a perfect temperature and kept very clean. While sitting on the patio I often enjoyed seeing the area's wild parrots and other birds, a purple tailed lizzard, and iguanna on the property. Wash basins, a hose and racks to hang wet items are on the patio for the convenience of the guests. The ocean with its healthy reefs are teaming with colorful fish. My sister, while snorkeling off a beach near Coral Paradise, saw an octopus that changed colors when a larger fish poked it! Captain Dan's restaurant, a block away, offers convenient buffet breakfasts and a nice pier. My husband and I plan on returning to Bonaire. I'd recommend Coral Paradise to any one who prefers to have some space and time away from crowds.

Room Tip: The first floor rooms open out into the pool area. This arrangement seemed to make the already spacious rooms even larger!
