We stayed at Coral Paradise next door and used the diving facilities at Captain Don’s for a week. Captain Don’s motto is “total diving freedom”. They are set up really well for shore diving or boat diving. I give them a four-star, because they are not really set up for inexperienced divers, which was my family at the time. They didn’t have the staff to provide an extra dive instructor, but they did work things out for us, and we had a great time diving with them. The dive instructors were very helpful and friendly.

Just returned from a 10 day holiday at Captain Don's and can't praise them enough. Staff were all really helpful and the dive staff went above and beyond to help us out. The tank system was brilliant just pick up and go. The house reef was excellent and I'd reccomend the night diving there too! Not too far from town either - will be looking to go back there in the future

Awesome, freedom diving. Truly grab and go system they have, no need to sign or anything. Food is pretty good, and it's close to many other places so one has variation. Bonaire diving is all pretty shallow, but still a lot to see because the whole island and it's waters are protected.

So far, I stayed at the hotel twice. Since I was on the island for business both times, in can't rate the divinig facilities. The suites are excellent. For just a few dollars more you get a microwave, nice spacy room and a beautiful ocean view. The regular rooms are not as good as one might expect. A little shabby, no facilities and a pool view.

Diving freedom is truly embraced at Captain Don's Habitat. The diving is wonderful, the dive masters are awesome and the accommodations are pleasant. Over the years, the Habitat has undergone many changes for the better and the staff remain as friendly as always. The accommodations range from a 'typical hotel room' surrounding the pool and sand volleyball court (have never seen anyone play), to individual cabins surrounding a pool (the Oasis), and the original 2 bedroom cottages. The cottages have been redone over the years and provide plenty of room to layout your camera gear. They also offer a wide porch to drip dry your bathing suits and wet gear. Rum Runners, the restaurant at the Habitat, provides a filling breakfast, good menu for lunch/dinner and the best margarita pizza! However, we usually skip BBQ night.
We keep coming back year after year, and lately twice a year, for the easy diving, the fast boats, the friendly front desk staff, the condition of the equipment and the care the dive masters take to make sure our trip is enjoyable.

Room Tip: The villas are nice if you have a large group as there are separate locked room yet plenty of space in the main living quarters. They also have a large outdoor area and being off to the side, are quiet in the evening. For a smaller room, try the cottages as they provide more area to spread out while the ocean suites, although very new, have much less space.
