The Divi Flamingo is a wonderful place to stay. It is close to town and restruants. The dive operations is tops. Serge and Alvine and all the dive masters are very knowledgeable. The dive masters can find all sorts of critters for you underwater. The boat diving is very east for older people.
The grounds are beautiful and it is located right on the water.
The food is very good at the divi Flamingo too!

Room Tip: The ocean front rooms are right on the water and they are great

For starters, this is a very nice (not luxurious by any means) resort. We heard the food wasn't great so we never ate there, but you're less than 5 minute walk to some great restaurants and downtown shopping. Staff is amazingly nice - one morning we were sitting on the screened in patio (they have regular hotel style rooms and then suites with kitchens and patios) and they had some guys doing yard work. They waited until we left to start up the equipment. Housekeeping was fast and great. House reef was excellent diving - we probably did 5-6 dives just off the pier. It's a pretty big resort so if you go with a group, be prepared to do some walking between rooms if you don't all get the same type of room - our friends' suite was 1/10th of a mile from our room, but we didn't mind the extra exercise. And the beds were the BEST hotel beds I've ever slept in. So comfortable I'm thinking of calling to find out what they are so we can buy one. Great AC too - kept the rooms nice and cool and dry (which you need if you have a ton of scuba gear to dry quickly). Two nice pools.

Room Tip: definitely get an ocean view - worth the extra price.

Unless you're renting a condo - Divi is the PERFECT place to stay in Bonaire!
First, the location great. Just a 5 minute walk to town or 10 minute ride to dozens of dive sites. We rented a car and hardly used it except to do some shore diving.
Our rooms were clean and recently renovated. My daughter stayed in #201. It had a queen bed, refrigerator, valted ceiling and a balcony right over the water. My unit, studio #716, was located on the first floor adjacent to the pool and dive shop. The quick walk out was extremely convenient when carrying camera housings and dive equipment. The unit was fully equipped with a kitchen, sitting area, and a screened in porch. Wifi is available in the lobby area and some of the rooms situated close by.
The service was also very good. When we ran short of towels or the A.C. acted up housekeeping was right on it! The grounds crew was constantly looking after the upkeep of the property.
Naturally, the reason we came was to dive. The dive operation run by Serge is top rate.
The great thing is...If you need help - They are there. If you are fine - They leave you alone! Great critter hunters. Alvene, Nolly, Mollin, Rutt, Susan, Orlando - Many Thanks!
The food was all good and properly prepared. Very good breakfast and lunch buffet.
Restaurant Chibi-Chibi overlooking the water was fine and covered most of the basics. Got to hit the "Beach Bar" for music and the 2 for one Happy Hour. Also for dinner, there are a lot of fine restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the property.
Finally, I have to thank GM Sarah Matera for her help and direction.

I chose to stay and dive here because of a Livingsocial deal I bought, but I doubt that I would pay full price to stay here. For a 4 star price you get about 2.5 stars in quality. The rooms were never really clean and so e parts of the room were not cleaned prior to our arrival - such as the top of the refrigerator. They had an awful and dusty plastic plant in the corner of the room that took up valuable space. The maids did a terrible job of cleaning the rooms. Having said that, this resort's saving grace was it's dive operation. The sign up system to go on boats was easy to follow. The people in the dive shop were helpful and friendly. And the dive guides were good for the most part. This is not an operation where they hold your hands through your dives. They gave you the use of a locker during your dive, had an organized system of desalination tubs (one for cameras only, another for regulators, and a third for wetsuits and other gear).

And the restaurant food was pretty horrific and this is coming from me who lived on school cafeteria food for several years while in grad school and didn't complain. Having said that, one does not come to Bonaire for a culinary experience. If you stay here, it is worth venturing out to the town (which is a 5 minute walk) to get better food. There is a great restaurant called "Bamboo" just a block from the resort towards town that has 3, 4, or 5 course surprise meal that I found to be exceptionally delightful. In fact I am still enjoying that experience. But beware, it's not cheap ($40-55). Well worth it though for what you get.

This was my first trip to Bonaire and I will definitely go back. I migh even dive with Divi. But then again, with the shore dives being so easy, I might just rent a truck and some tanks and go with a buddy. I most likely will not return to stay here. Cleanliness is a big thing for me and I feel like this place lacked that.

First time in Bonaire, used a Living Social deal, so a good bargain! It is an older resort
but well- kept. Our room was nicely decorated with the MOST comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Bath, again, not the most modern but clean. "Sunning pier" functions as a beach (there are none in Bonaire). Food good in the informal restaurant, price average.
Some interesting restaurants in town, a short walk away. Hertz office on-site was a plus for us. We'd snorkeled but not dived before; after two lessons we want to become certified! *Diving is the reason to come to Bonaire* There is essentially nothing else to do on dry land, so think twice about bringing children unless they like to snorkel all day.
Dive programs on-site are excellent and varied. Minor minuses: employee in activities office was clueless. Casino resembled a converted garage (we don't gamble anyway).

Good place to stay on a lovely dutch island.
Bonaire is a nice place for enjoying nature and this hotel fits perfectly in this environement. We are no divers and the hotel was full of ( American ) divers when we were there, but we had a perfect quiet stay.
Tip : rent a bicycle and enjoy the island gently.
BONAIRE, WELKOM BIJ NEDERLAND !!!!!

Room Tip: Book for a kitchen included, you can cook for yourself and buy dutch food around the corner.

This place is terrific, especially if you are a diver. There is an amazing reef right off the dock and the staff is excellent at helping you on their boats or with your own independent shore diving.
Sara Matera, the general manager, was exceptionally helpful to my husband and I when we found ourselves in a predicament. In general this is a classy hotel dive resort that we will continue to return to for years.
