We had dinner there last night and were very please with everything. The chef was creative but didn't go too far. The ingredients were fresh, flavorful and perfectly prepared. Service was excellent!

We spent our anniversary here and it was wonderful! Very busy place and we didn't have a reservation but got a table. Food was excellent and service was great as well! I had fish and my husband had filet and both were very nicely prepared. They also provide mini tastes prior to dinner so an appetizer wasn't needed! Best meal on Bonaire so far!

Ok they may try and over-reach themselves with the complex flavours but this was top class food with impeccable service and a very nice setting.

The menu is small but everything we ate was cooked to perfection.

My husband and I stopped soon after At Sea restaurant opened and looked only as far as the appetizer menu, deciding it was too expensive for us. This past January however, hearing that At Sea had ben voted the best eatery in the Caribbean, we opted to "splurge". The reality is that it turned out to be well within our budget. The food is amazing!!! One of the entrée specialties is a featured fresh fish or protein with side dishes of three unique preparations of the same vegetable. It's amazing the different tastes that result from differing preparations and sauces. The sauces: any 5 star French restaurant would be honored to serve these unique creations. The appetizers are more costly than we usually spend, but the food is so creative (that word again!) and yummy! The wait staff is joined by the owner, and all participate in food preparation as well as serving and bussing tables. The portions are more reasonable than predictably served at American eateries; but with the calorie intake is comparable. Just outstanding food right by the sea.

A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I decided to go back to this restaurant. I must say that we were very disappointed. Although the service was almost perfect and our server was very professional, the food was the big low! We both found that almost whatever you order has a complex flavor of various overwhelming spices that really makes the dish truly bizarre. My main course is a good example, a coq au vin that was chicken granted, but the sauce and the side vegetables (cauliflower!) had nothing to do in this old venerable french classic. The overall impression was of a sort of sweet and spicy sauce, a little bit like a satay but with probably a lot of cinnamon and clove!
I guess, objectively, one does not go to "At sea" a seafood restaurant to order coq au vin! but still, if it's on the menu, the chef must assume his responsibility and prepare it better or do not call it coq au vin! We did not have a reservation and most restaurants in Kralendijk turned us away! strangely enough despite its formidable reputation, it had a few empty tables! is it a sign.....? Climbing to the top is long and difficult, once there it takes no time to fall off!
