“The place to be on Bonaire.”
Reviewed 2 February 2014 via mobile

When you are looking for a relaxed, uncomplicated place to stay book the Dive Hut at Bonaire. Very hospital, everything is possible when you ask. Great entertainment during the BBQ, Thai, Jamacain evening and other special organized evenings. It is runned by Irene and Roland, very friendly, sweet people. And don't forget the marvelous breakfast. I can keep going with all the positivity, but keep in mind it is the most central place for the city center and the beach. My stay was great, don't wait too long, it is always quickly 'sold out'. Enjoy this best hidden secret of Bonaire.

We went in Bonaire last December for scuba diving holidays. We chose the Dive Hut based on the positive reviews and we weren't disappointed at all. The location is nice (dive club and city center are within walking distance), the appartment was big enough with 2 rooms, kitchen, terrasse and a big living room. The people working there is really nice and they adopted the caribbean way of life: smiling and friendly!

The BBQ night and the Jamaican food night (the only 2 we tested) need to be mentionned: good atmosphere, very good food (quality AND quantity), juste for 15 US$!

I strongly recommend anyone going to Bonaire to stay at the dive hut since I have nothing bad to mention! The owner even organized us a last minute dive with an external dive master.

I stay 12 days and was demanded full payment on the first day saying Bonaire everything else does so and also in the Netherlands. I've never been in the Netherlands, but the hotels I've stayed in 17 other countries this is not done, unless it is just one day.
The hotel has a good cost-benefit, good price and location. Who pays for cheap may not require cleaning every day, they do it once a week, but has air conditioning and room space is enough for a shelter in paradise.

Yes, Dive Hut is great for divers. Then again, if you're not diving, I'm really not sure why you're visiting Bonaire.

My wife and I had a great week in Bonaire and at the Dive Hut. No need to repeat in detail but the staff (and locals) were great. Don't expect service of a $200/night place, but this place works great for a diving vacation in Bonaire.

Points to note
- They can organize a rental truck for diving.
- Rooms have fridges and plenty of space (and solid air conditioners)
- Not sure why you'd need to stay at a dive resort since you can reach all the dive sites on your own and wouldn't have time during the day to use a beach or pool.
- Locked storage room and dunk tank are very convenient for your gear.
- Breakfast is every morning but they only serve dinner a couple of nights (bar open every night)
- The "Wannadive" location there is a tank drop off in the locked storage room. Unfortunately many of the days, there were not enough full tanks for us to pick up for the day. Maybe we just woke up later than other divers there, but based on the number of empty tanks stacked up, I doubt that. Perhaps a side effect of being off season. The Eden Beach pickup is just a 2 min drive away and at least you don't need to make an extra stop to drop off empties at the end of a long day. All in all, no big deal.

To Do:
BRING
- Your own soap for the shower
- extra TP in case you run low (I hear it can be a delay to get some)
- bug spray (for the bar & dinners outside at night)

We are absolutely coming back to Bonaire to dive again and we'll be staying at the Dive Hut.

I spent a week in august and I appreciated a lot the place. The staff is really kind and helpful, the rooms are nice (of course no super comfort, but ok), the location is also good, 10 minutes walk to the main boulevard.
They are linked to the diving Wannadive, you can buy at the reception at a good price a voucher for unlimited air and you have access to a room just in front of the hotel where you can take the tanks that you need (air or nitrox).
So, I recommend the Dive Hut to all the divers that are looking for an accomodation at a good price and with lovely staff.
