“Beautiful place, some unfriendly people.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2014 via mobile

Came with a group as part of a diving tour. The resort is more of a beach resort with a dive resort on the side. Wannadive was GREAT, wish the resort was as friendly as Wannadive. The resort didn't provide us with wash clothes. The first day we had to ask for them. The second day, we asked for them and they told us they didn't have any. They were also a little stingy with the towels. We had three people in the room and some days we only got 2 towels. The internet service was really good, there were times in the evening when service picked up that it got slow. The beach area was really nice with nice cabanas. The breakfast was really good. They were doing some renovations on the resort, but it wasn't bothersome. When they get through with the renovations, it will be beautiful.

Overall, a good place to stay, but there could be some improvements.

The resort itself is very unappealing when you first drive up to it. To the immediate glance it seemed run down. If you stay on the 3rd level and facing wanna dive, you will get a view of construction material in a holding area, but looked like a dump. However driving further into the resort there seemed to be better appealing views. Newly renovations are visible. The pool area, beach and bar area, the Spice restaurant, the dive shop, and the actual view of the water was nice. The actual room we stayed in was a standard that was newly renovated. There was an issue, since through orbitz we had a king size bed, but actuality it was 2 twins they gave us. They worked with us to get the standard room with a king. There isn't a safe in the room or a double bolt lock for extra security at night when sleeping. In fact one of the rooms adjacent to us was able to be unlocked with the same key.....so that was a little uneasy for us. Once getting past that issue, the room overall was nice, the bed was comfortable for our taste, the construction or workmanship to the renovation we found some flaws, such as a loose faucet. However, all in all the resort staff catered to our requests. From the accommodations aspect we settled in and felt comfortable, room was clean, and we felt satisfied overall. I would lean towards a 3 star, but the location made up for it. The beach area and service from the bar staff was excellent. The beautiful umbrellas and beach chairs were great to hang out. The fact that you can just snorkel or dive a few yards from your room is a highlight. We did rent a pick up truck rental to explore other shore dive spots and a trip to Sorobon was nice, and Lac Bay...our favorite near by breakfast and lunch place is between 2 buns....it is a short walk from Eden. I should add that the pick up truck was arranged for us and it was dropped off at the resort.

We enjoyed our trip and I would recommend the resort even though it seemed like there were a lot of flaws. I think what they lack in room renovations it was made up with the location and nice service.

Room Tip: Rooms nearest the bar will have more noise due to the music.

Very disapointing when you arrive and see the entrance, but you are nearly living on the beach, so that makes up for it, we had a seavieuw room with a kitchnet and terrace, nice decoration lovely kingsize bed and plenty of wardrobe space tiled floors and large bathroom.
Walk out off the terrace door and you are on the beach, beach resturant very good and quite cheap to eat and drink, main resturant very good though quite pricy.
Staff very friendly and helpfull, but they need to take a good look at the cleaning crew, bin hadn't been emptied on the day we arrived, but was soon sorted, and the room wasn't cleaned propely the four days that we stayed for though we did have clean towels everyday. They supplied us with beach towels everyday.
Take a trip to small Bonaire with the boat that leaves from the beach wonderfull snorkeling.
We didn't hire a car took a taxi to Kralendijk and walked back along the beach about 20 minutes.
Took an excursion around the island so we saw most things. What a lovely peacefull beautiful island this is.

Room Tip: Book a seaview room, lower flloor with terace

This hotel it at a good location. It is one of the few hotels with an actual sand beach. You can dive and snorkel just of the beach. The Spice Beach Club is just next to the hotel with a great bar and restaurant. With Bonaire being a divers paradise, that's what I received. It was clean and the room was adequate. I was there by myself and would suggest a larger room with a fridge and stove...possibly a microwave if you're more than one person. I had a standard room. I would also suggest renting a car/truck depending on your dive equipment. You can do many dives from shore and all you need to do is to rent the tank if you have your own equipment. You can also venture around and eat outside of Eden. The food at the hotel is good but you might want to go where the locals go. If you consume alcohol, keep a bottle in your room. Your bar tab might get out of control. It was nice having the dive shack and air station right on premises (Wanna Dive). It was very professional. Caroline was a great G.M. and Mireya was a great F.O. Agent. Did I mention the diving was pristine and the coral reefs were untouched?

Room Tip: Higher rooms have a nicer view but a 3 story climb. Get one of the newly renovated ones. Also, get...

We got this room through a package orbitz deal and while it wasn't the cheapest, it was well enough located provided you had a vehicle. We had a standard room and wanted to upgrade but that would have cost an extra $109 per nite to have a refrigerator and stove-no microwaves. We figured it would be cheaper to eat out. The room was adequate. The bathroom door was a bi-fold louver that never closed all the way. They needed places to hang up wet items. When the cruise ships come in, you'll want to leave for the day. There is NO fitness room. Spice Club is packed Friday nites-loud music-lots of vehicles-loud people. The usual party atmosphere. Staff is friendly and accomodating. Pool use and beach chairs are rented out daily to anyone who wants them. Bar is nice. Food is OK. Water is fantastic. Water taxis and snorkeling right off the dock.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the ocean.

This hotel it at a good location. It is one of the few hotels with an actual sand beach. You can dive and snorkel just of the beach. The Spice Beach Club is just next to the hotel with a great bar and restaurant. The room was average, but with at big balcony with a beautiful ocean view.

While we were at Bonaire, there were 4 cruise ships on one day visits. The hotel rents out the sun beds on the beach and by the pool to the guests from these ships. After we experienced the invasion from when the first cruise ship came in, we found something else to do far away on the island on the next three days because it was hell! The cruise guests were loud, rude, and there was so many of them that there was no room for the regular guests.

The house cleaning was not what we expected. They only changed our sheets one time in 14 days, and we never knew when they came. It could be everything from 9 in the morning till 5 in the afternoon. The AC was so loud that we sometimes had to turn it off because it woke us up at night.

But even with these downsides we still believe it's a good value for money, and we had a nice stay.

We just arrived home from Bonaire two days ago and I wanted to review Eden Beach while it was still fresh.

I was very unsure of what we find when we arrived since we have never been to Bonaire. What we did find truly exceeded my expectations. I do not have a lot of money and since my parents were tagging along we split the cost of a two bedroom apartment. The rooms were recently renovated and just opposite the pool and near the bar. The crew of Wanadive on site was very accommodating as were the entire hotel staff. I think my mother would be upset if I didn't mention that Melissa who worked the bar area was excellent even though she had only been working at Eden Beach for a week. This is not to take away from any of the other staff members its just that their names slip my mind at this time.

On Friday our last night the resort hosted a live band and bbq. I could see how some people would find the band who played till around 11PM too loud to sleep, but I very much enjoyed there local sound. It seems as though Eden Beach is also very in touch with the local community and to me that is an excellent attribute.

I would definitely return to Eden Beach and highly recommend it to anyone travelling to Bonaire!
