We stayed 1 night as part of a Havana tour and were really impressed with the hotel. Our spotlessly clean room was on the 7th floor with a wonderful view and a huge bed and we had bathrobes as well as plenty of clean towels.
We did not eat in the hotel that night but did sit out on the veranda with a delicious cocktail listening to great live music. Breakfast the next morning was great with plenty of choice and great coffee.
All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful and there were no communication difficulties.
The Nacional is a beautiful hotel which offers you a glimpse of how life was in Havana prior to 1959 and I wish we had been able to have stayed a second night to really explore it completely . Even if you don't stay there, you must pay it a visit.
Tip - We used the money exchange in the hotel and received the most favourable of the 2 weeks we were in Cuba.More
