“Best lobster ever”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

We rented a classic car in Havana and the driver took us to the restaurant. the service was amazing and the food was spectacular. we order 3 different types of lobter dishes my favourite was enchilada de langosta, it was done in a marinate tomato sauce delicious. my husband had a chicken dish and although it was simple it ws very flavorful. and one of our cousin order the fish with the garlic sauce, he found it too garlic for his tase but not the less very good. the bean soup was very good as well, we had ton of that

We would defiantly go back, the service and the food was very good. even the strange animals made the place perfect

on our way out a gentlemen gave us his car and a little souvenir with the restaurant logoon it.

Room Tip: I wish it could be with walking distance of the city center but maybe it is I just dont know the are...

We had our first lunch in Havana here - and it was wonderful. The service was polite friendly and efficient, and the food was excellent. (We had grilled lobster which came with rice, beans salad etc, combined with mojito and wine. The price was reasonable, the music excellent - I would definitely recommend this venue for lunch.

While working in Cuba I ate here many times and loved the food, service and total ambiance. I ate here not only at night but for lunch while shopping in Havana. I strongly recommended this restaurant to all my friends.

It sounds like most private tour guides take their customers to this lovely little spot for lunch and a good choice it is! A live Cuban band was playing while we dined and the roosters ran about freely. Ambience gets an A+. Food was excellent. Everyone at our table enjoyed the chicken and pineapple along with the standard accompaniments of rice and beans and fresh salad vegetables. Staff spoke perfect English.
My only concern is that if every tour guide uses this location, it will soon outgrow its intimate surroundings and it wouldn't be the same any other way!

This was our first meal in Havana. Service was friendly and attentive. The langoustina and marlin were fesh and delicious and we had our first taste of Cuban black beans with rice. Very simple put well presented and reasonably priced with a good selection of wines.
The taxi driver from our hotel, who claimed to be a retired bodyguard of Fidel Castro and drove an ancient Moskvitch, hovered discretely in the background whilst we dined!

We had dinner at this paladar in between a day of touring Havana and a visit to the Tropicana. I must say that, by Cuban food standards, this was spectacular. The setting was idyllic, in a well-shaded and treed garden with roosters wandering through the tables. The staff are warm and welcoming and had a good command of English (although we had a guide with us to translate, it wouldn't be necessary at this lovely place). I can't speak to their ability to converse in other languages as English was the only one we required in our group.

The food was outstanding, with a wide range of traditional Cuban offerings. Each of our group of four had something different from chicken, to shrimp to lobster. Servings were large and designed to satisfy after a long day of touring. And the cerveza was cold. The restaurant also served your choice of sparkling or still water (also very cold and thirst quenching).

Bathroom facilities were solid by North American standards and a joy after a day of crouching.

While the cost was extremely reasonable by North American standards, it was "tres cher" by Cuban standards. Dinner for four ran us 103 CUCs.

The location is a little out of the way, over on the fort side of the harbour. The name of the paladar, (El Canonazo, refers to the cannon which is shot off nightly at the fort nearby the restaurant). You would have to taxi from the downtown area. But it's worth it -- Highly recommended!

As part of a taxi tour of Havana, our guide took us to this restaurant for lunch. We had the beef, pork with pineapple and seafood and all the dishes were excellent. The restaurant is well shaded from the mid-day sun, and there are lots of trees about to keep things cool. And the service was excellent, although at this time of day there was only one other group.
