What a magical night we had. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. The staff was charming and the chef was so friendly. He came a spoke with us and had the nicest smile, you could tell he was happy doing what he does. On our last night there we danced and took photos with the whole staff. The restaurant was decorated beautifully, as if it was stuck in time. The tiles on the walls was absolutely beautiful. Would highly recommend although it has been a few years since I have been there.

Tucked away on a narrow street in seemingly dicey surroundings, this gem offers some of the finest dining in Havana or, for that matter, anywhere else. The private restaurants (paladares) recently allowed by the government are hospitality spaces within the owner's residence. The 100-year-old mansion hosting the restaurant is spacious and imposing, but nonetheless inviting. The walls are crowded with pre-Castro tourist posters, vintage newspaper and magazine clippings, period photos, and a collection of antique clocks. Chef/owner Carlos Cristobal created an interesting and delightful multi-course dinner for our party of 16 seated in the main dining area. Smaller groups occupied cozier adjacent rooms, curtained off for privacy. The top-notch cuisine and service ended on a satisfying and mellow note -- cigars and rum.

My favourite place out of all places we had visited in Havana. Literally had the most amazing evening in probably the quirkiest, most interesting restaurant I have ever been in. From the second you walk in, you realise you're in for something different. The owner has a "slight" obsession with clocks and there are lots of them everywhere. The decor is so quirky and "out there", you can't help but like it. We were served by Mario who was absolutely fantastic, a lovely genuine guy who went out of his way to make sure we had a great evening. He took great pride in showing us photos of when Beyonce and Jay-Z visited the restaurant last year ! I had the cheese board for starters and angel fish for my main and it was lovely. I have never had angel fish before and was really pleased I did. The bf had the lobster which he said was nice , the only criticism being that it was fairly salty . Overall the food was great, the service was fantastic, and the restaurant itself was fab. Make sure you ask for the mini tour round the place as well!

Lovely private "Paladar" restaurant. Good food, beautiful setting, well rehearsed staff. Decent wine selection, especially the Spanish ones. Recommended.
