This place is out of this world. Dined here twice with my family. The owner and staff are great and the food was always fresh. They do an amazing signature iced mojito. Also the lobster in red sauce is amazing too and worth a try. 3 course meal with drinks cost us around £10 per person and we were totally stuffed. Always book in advance as this place is small and popular and rarely has space for walk-ins.

Delicious... You need to arange a reservation one day before or at least go in The Morning to get at table at evening. The food is The best in Old Havana. Service is great. Is a MUST in your tríp to Cuba

The restaurant is very near the cathedral, tucked away at the end of a side street. I was excited to check this place out given its rating on TA and its mention in Lonely Planet.

However both my friend and I found this to be a bland offering. I chose the chicken breast which was cooked with onions and served with fried banana chips (really similar to crisp)-although perfectly edible, the chicken wasn't well seasoned or especially tasty. My friend chose fish in a tomato sauce which again was passable. The (free) sides of black beans and rice (a traditional food in Cuba) and a lovely salad were a nice touch.

The service was fantastic, the restaurant nicely decorated and the price was very reasonable (I think it was 18CUC for the two mains and two soft drinks)

With No doubt the best paladar in Old Havana...fair price and everything with good home made taste.
Don't forget to try their frozen mojitos. Make reservation before you get there they are usually full. Forget about over seas reservations via internet, as soon as you get to Havana give them a call and arrange everything.

Another spot on Daily Telegraph and TA recommendation. Would give 4 and a half.
Food in Cuba we found to be mediocre - for various reasons. Dona Eutimia broke the mould. Located in a corner in a street off the Plaza de la Catedral - a Paladar with tables inside, outside and on roof terrace. Went twice whilst in Havana - definitely need to book - saw several disappointed diners being turned away. Good menu choices - with tasty starters, great specials - including garlic lobster and good regulars - ropa vieja particulary good. Of course everything comes with rice and black beans! Service very good and prices very reasonable.
Before or after visit the warehouse alongside which houses a range of artists and their works
