From the airport to the hotel, local guide was asking in 20CUC always a taxi, but it was 40CUC I asked the taxi to the airport to the hotel reception this time.
WHY?

Inexperienced taxi driver can not go up to the hotel entrance. Suitcase is damaged because it is cobbled. Probability of inexperienced taxi driver's 50 percent.

Room Tip: Shower was cold water three times.

Perfect location for exploring the old town with friendly staff, this is a unique hotel with oodles of character. Don't be put off by the thought of traditional windowless rooms around the courtyard and the fact that the lift that doesn't work, it' s all part of staying in the old town.
The cuisine is fairly basic but perfectly adequate and the bar opens out onto the street next to the cathedral which adds to the atmosphere. I would certainly stay here again.

We are skeptic at first about the location of this hotel and how it look likes. However we are stunned when we actually see the hotel. We are greeted by warm Cuban hospitality by their staff, especially the front desk officer named Ofelia (if I'm not mistaken). Who are very accommodating in spite of some issue with our accommodation which I think it my fault. Having said that, she initiated to contact our agent Cuba Travel Network to settle the issue. So everything went alright without any hassle and she even assure there's nothing to worry about.
The lobby is decorated by antiquity of Cuba with its bronze sculptures and oil paintings. The hotel is very clean with amiable sense of old good times. Although the elevator is not working, we don't mind as we are expecting it in Cuba.
We booked for a junior suite and 1 single bed, and as expected both rooms are impressively large enough to house 3 adult and one baby. The junior suite was remarkable, with tasteful design of period pieces of furniture from ceramic chandelier to wooden rocking chair. The room is nicely facing the adorable roof top of old Havana houses Overall the room are pleasant and beautiful even though the AC is noisy, this is not a big thing, after all the weather there is bit cooler and somewhat fresh.
The hotel is located in the very heart of Old Havana. Just a few steps to the famous Havana Cathedral ,tourist places like plaza de armas and to most enchanting area in Old Havana

This excellent, romantic location is just what the doctor ordered for the clandestine getaway. Centrally located in Habana Vieja, the accomodations and service are beyond 5-star. An excellent choice for educators, musicians, or others on a humanitarian adventure.

Room Tip: Don't be afraid to go all the way with first class accommodations. The more rooms to the suite t...

Great location to walk to the tourist sights of historic Havana. Our room was large with a good bed and bathroom. It is an old building so some understanding of the old furniture and fittings is needed. The central courtyard amplifies the sound from downstairs but this is common for such buildings and should not put anyone off. The breakfast is poor and some of the staff here are not at all interested. The bar at night is very good with cheap drinks compared to all the other places we visited and the staff here are efficient and pleasant. The treat is the local band who have been together for 14 years and are great fun, and I'm not keen on "Cuban type" music. We spoke with two of the band members and it was memorable. Go there at least to have a drink and listen to the music. Their mohitos were far better than the touristy bars.

For our first 2 night in havana a travelagent had made a reservation for us at the Tejadillo Hotel. The agent had told us that this hotel was quite good and offered good value.
On our 25 day trip arround the country, Cuba confronted us with only 1 disappointment and that was the Hotel Tejadillo.
This hotel offers 32 rooms from which only 8 have a window with acces to daylight. So even asking for a room with a view, as some other tripadvisors suggest, is on many occasion not an option. Simply because only 1 in 4 rooms have a window. And guess which ones are full first.
Possible also because of the lack of windows and therefore good airing possibilities our room smelled like an old loft filled with furniture and bedding from before the revolution. And this is exactly also how it looked. So in looks it had character but, please could it have been without the bad damp smell?
The good location in the centre of Havana Vieja does not compensate for the poorly ventilated and smelly room.
Is this the worst place we ever spent the night? Offcourse not, we are used to spending our nights in all types of accomodation. From boutique hotel to Jungle cabin. The quality is always measured by the difference between expection and actual experience. At a price of 90 euro’s a night for the Tejadillo there is a big gap between the expectation and the experience.

Room Tip: If hotel staf cannot offer you a room with a window, don't check in and look for one of the many...

Hotel Tejadillo is a well located, standard, Colonial style hotel, the like of which there are many across Cuba. As previous reviews have said, there is a lot of work going on around the hotel and the streets were pretty much all dug up, we also arrived during a torrential storm and some of the ground floor rooms were flooded. Best hot water and water pressure of the trip, pleasant central square and a lively bar, but they need to improve their staff dramatically. The Concierge, who spent half the time literally asleep at his desk, tried to charge well over double the rate to book us a taxi, we told him where to go......and getting any of the mediocre breakfast was a continual war of attrition....I am sure there must be better options available although the location was perfect for the old town.
