“Really Colonial Atmosphere”
Reviewed 21 December 2013

When you come to Cuba for a top luxery stay in Havana, I guess you should look for hotels like Parque Central. But when you are willing to accept a little less modernity and look for a true Colonial atmosphere the Sevilla is a fantastic choice. I loved the ground floor breakfast hall, where you can hear the school children of the nearby music school singing during your breakfast when they start their day. The reception hall and cafe have a true Andalucian look and feel. Staff is helpfull and speaks good English. Location is perfect and I hired my rental car here too (via Havana Car, that has an office in the hotel). On my last night in Cuba I upgraded to a superior room on the seventh floor. What a view! And a very luxery breakfast on the top floor, with a great view again ( but I missed the children singing.....). So highly recommended for midrange and four star travellers. Although I pernonally recommend all five star travellers to book this hotel too.....

We just had a weekend in Havana and wanted mostly to relax. Hotel Sevilla has a perfect location and a nice pool area where we could chill out after a day of sightseeing. The room was spacious and had a nice view to the city

stayed 2 different hotels while in Havana. This was the better choice. I would return and recommend it to others. Pool is great and staff was also. Only problem was no hot water until it was time to leave. Location is also great.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a balcany overlooking the street

The hotel is a beautiful old historic structure that is centrally located. Because it is allegedly undergoing renovations of some sort (all we could see was polishing of the terrazo floors) don't expect modern accommodations but it is comfortable. The staff is wonderful and helpful. We were greeted with pinacoladas when we checked in. The rooms are clean but dated, the bathrooms need upgrading but towels were so dingy and stained it was questionable whether or not they had been laundered. Breakfast was acceptable and the addition of music (in our case classical winds) was really nice. They could have wonderful lounge on the 9th floor but the bar has been relegated to a room the size of a walk in closet - no atmosphere - if only they'd leveraged the beautiful terraced dining room space which was grossly underutilized.

Room Tip: There is no view except from the 9th floor where there is a bar and a huge dining room.

The hotel was very nice with good service Some problems with the internet connection, but this is Cuba. My wife and I had a spacious room on the 7th floor with a great view. Breakfast on the 9th floor is recommended.

We stayed there five nights and were very pleased for the hotel. It's located near many sights fex. Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, Museo de la Revolución, Capitol Building and many others. You can easily exit to pedestrian zone Prado or the Malecón street that goes beside the coast line. Also the old city, Habana Vieja is within walking distance. Our room was spacious and it had a hint of luxury in it with dark wooden furniture and bed was also comfortable. Only thing that was bothering us was the strange noise that apparently came from employees elevator. The hotel lobby is magnificent and there was always live music. Sure, the drinks were as expensive as in any hotel at this level and the food was basic, but nevertheless our stay there was satisfying. We didn't test the nice looking swimming pool, because it rained almost every day. The staff was also nice and helpful.
Breakfast was versatile and there were also quartet playing classical music most of the time. Although there were lack of cups glasses and cutlery, this seems to be common problem everywhere in Cuba. I would go there again.

Stay for two nights as part of tour, Gloomy interior. Rooms small and in need of a refurbishment. breakfast was OK. Drinks were double the prices of local tourist resaurants, food was similarly expensive and quality so-so. Good location
