We stayed here for three nights in Aug 2014 before moving onto Valadero, the staff in the hotel were helpful and charming. the rooms were large and bright. The food was OK.
Several Bands & Singers were playing really good classical Music in most Bars, Restaurants every day in the Hotel
The location was good for most of the site seeing was in the same area.
This Hotel had its hey days in the early 1900's and does still reflect the style from that era with the Decor & Old Pictures.
Only down side was the Level of the Cleaning, dirty mirrors & floors in the Room. Reception area furniture was always dusty and lacked any Polish. We also had no hot water for the 4 days we were there. It is being processed they said every day.

Room Tip: Go for a room on a higher level as it is quieter, ask to see room first as our bathroom had a cracke...

Dear customer:
We are working hard to keep the hotel clean although is a challenge because it is an open concept hotel, located on the old part of the city, not like newer hotels that are enclosed and air-conditioned. We appreciate your comments and we promise we will work harder to meet our customer’s expectations.
Once again, thank you very much for your comments; they help us to keep working towards a better customer satisfaction.

Although I didn't stay at the hotel, I was there several times this past week checking email and going online in their lobby area wifi.

It is SURPRISINGLY fast considering it's Cuba. Easy log on / off.

Buy a "Nauta" card here or anywhere and connect to the internet to your content while sipping on a mojito.

Stayed here for two nights at the start of a tour around Cuba and again for our last night, both times staying in rooms on the 6th floor with views across the city.

The hotel has a wonderful moorish facade and lobby interior. It's history as a landmark hotel in Havana is portrayed in a large number of framed black and white photographs around the lobby and elevators depicting previous guests including Graham Greene and Al Capone and Josephine Baker.

The rooms we had were large and spacious with dark wood old stylish furniture. Rooms and bathroom were clean and we had no problem with the electrics for charging cameras etc. Nothing in the rooms we stayed in was broken or didn't work.

Breakfast was in the large dining room on the ground floor, sometimes accompanied by musicians. Choice was somewhat limited and not as good as we had at other hotels in Cuba.

Staff were friendly but those on reception did not speak English well enough for us to leave a message for our tour guide on the first night and we speak no Spanish!

The pool is large and is a great bonus of the hotel especially after a day of exploring in the heat. The hotel is very well located, just across from the Museum of the Revolution, one block from the newly opened Sloppy Joe's Bar, and a short distance from Obispo - the main pedestrian street into Havana Vieja.

We didn't eat at the hotel, other than breakfast, choosing to go for dinner at a couple of terrific paladars in the old town.

You can change money - cash - at the front desk or, alternatively, there is an ATM cash machine one/two blocks away (turn left out of the main entrance and left again).

Would definitely stay at the Hotel Sevilla again.

Room Tip: request a room on a higher floor with a view.

This is the hotel I arrived at in Havana and we stayed here for two nights.

The room was large, clean and had good air conditioning.

The upstairs bar did great cocktails and had an impressive view over the bay. Very romantic and enough to get us excited on our first night in Havana.

The building itself is fantastic from the front and the lobby is amazing with true colonial style luxury. The lobby also has its own bar which serves decent drinks and food with regular bands and salsa dancers to entertain into the night.

the pool is fantastic and, I believe on of only a couple of pools in the centre/old Havana.

Definitely worth it. It may not be as opulent as the Parque Central but it is much cheaper. I would make this my hotel of choice when visiting Havana.

Room Tip: Higher up should give you great views.

The history of the Mercure Sevilla Havana is one of its main selling points, and should not be underestimated. Notable historic figures Graham Greene and Al Capone have both stayed in this hotel (and I understand that staying in their rooms does not cost more than a normal room). The facility in itself is old, and provokes a greater appreciation of the architectural style and social climate (via the art) of the early 20th century, when the hotel was built. However, one of the weaknesses arises as a result of this strength. Although the rooms are the same in style to the rest of the hotel, its charm quickly dissipates into disappointment when it becomes clear that the rooms are lagging behind basic modern standard - my room only had one working electricity socket out of a meagre six. I believe the rooms could be improved with newer furniture, as well as having the occasional check-up on appliances, and still maintain its charming aura. The location of the hotel is great as the (local) Fine Arts Museum and the Revolution Museum are within a 2-minute walk, and El Capitolio and various walking streets are not too far either. I'd recommend eating out at the various bars and restaurants, because the hotel's breakfast is poor, and its patio bar offers decent food, which can be found better and cheaper around the city. All in all, I still enjoyed my stay, in no small part due to the friendly staff and the great view of Havana on the top floor. [3/5 - July 2014]

What a gem of a hotel. The staff were exceptional. It would be remiss of me not to mention Rene the barman in the 9th floor bar. What a great guy. The bar is not well advertised in the hotel and what a shame as it's just incredible. BEST Mojitos and Pina Coladas in Havana. Alejandro and Alejandro were very friendly and welcoming and Hector, the trainee, was a sweetie. The view over the forts is just beautiful.
Manuel, the dancer, in the courtyard bar is a great guy and very entertaining.
Breakfast was an experience every morning with beautiful music and helpful staff. What a way to start the day.
The music in the courtyard every day was exceptional and such a great range.
The pool was lovely and the staff there equally friendly and helpful.
Great job Hotel Sevilla. We will definitely recommend you.
