this little restaurant with the option of eating in an air conditioned room or on the balcony overlooking Mercaderes street or in their main dining room is a must visit. Its not in the guide books - but its owned and run by a local family and the food and ambience is fantastic.
Friendly staff who were brilliant at translating the typical Havana food into English, made the difference.
The owner came out to chat to us over dessert and described how he and his family used to live in what is now the restaurant and how they have renovated the building and built the business over the years. Thoroughly recommend a visit. We had a fantastic lunch sitting in the window balcony whilst in the other window a young girl and guy were playing traditional music and singing - can't think of anything better!
