“Worth making an effort to find.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

I assume this is recently refurbished to look as it did 50 years ago. It is a great bar for drinks, the food wasn't very good and slow arriving but the coffee afterwards was the best we had in Havana and the bar was pleasantly busy when we were there. It is just a block behind the Iberostar Parque, certainly worth looking out for.

“Great bar perfectly restored”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

After being closed for many years this bar has re-opened in all it's authentic dark wood and brass 1940s glory, pristine and fully air-conditioned. It also serves as a extensive rum shop and a photo museum of the charcters who frequented it in it's glory days. The only crticism would be the total lack of music, something unusual for Cuba.

“not worth it”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014

I can't believe I went there twice (solely because of its location). The first time I had a mohito that I believed had no rum in it. It was overpriced and the bartender was much more interested in the World Cup than the customers. The second time I went there for a sandwich. The waiter was rather rude and did not want to be bothered with me. It was an okay sandwich but the waiter made it a bad experience and I will not go back a third time. It will survive based on its name and location but you would be much better off to walk a few blocks and find someplace else.

“Cool bar, great food, large screen TVs”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 June 2014

Just came back from Havana and was happy to discover this recently renovated bar next to the Parque Central hotel. They have great service and the food is really good. We had hamburgers with thin cut fries for lunch one day and chicken with grilled vegetables for dinner another. Both were delicious! We also spent several hours there watching the FIFA world cup games on their tvs. They have lots of old pictures of old celebrities from the 50s too. A nice place to recharge in Havana!

“Recently renovated and re-opened”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 June 2014

Very large bar area with a choice of seating styles - high stools, tables and chairs or stools at the bar. They offer interesting little tapas as well as full restaurant menu. It feels authentic though seems to lack a buzz as it's rarely full - or at least every time that I've been there. Drinks are well prepared with a very extensive menu of cocktails and international spirits and liquors. It is at the higher end of bar pricing perhaps because it's at the back of the Parque Central Hotel and close to the other tourist hotels on the park. There are plenty of more interesting bars with music close by but still worth a visit.
