“Wonderful place and well located”
Reviewed 21 July 2014 via mobile

We were you girl friends staying there in July. When we arrived to the street we first felt scared about the location, but after a couple of days in Habana we realised the location of the house was perfect. So close to Paseo del Prado and the Malecom. Rosita, the host, has been so kind to us and always pleased to give us a hand, so the rest of the family. The food was very nice too. The only thing I missed, to make it perfect, was a terrace. But, anyway, I would strongly recommend it.

Thanks for the suggestion of the terrace; in fact we have almost finished remodeling the second floor of the house that will add 3 more bedrooms plus a two-bedroom apartment, and the terrace is our next goal to give our customers a pleasant area to relax with a view of the rooftops of the popular Centro Habana.
Thank you!

We arrived without booking hoping for another casa particular altogether. The hosts of that casa warmly recommended another near by - Casa Consulado 106, due to the fact that their own was full. And we are really thankful for their recommendation!!! After calling the host of Consulado 106 we were picked up by one of the owners who took us to the casa. This casa feels in every way like family home and we ourselves felt like relatives visiting family. Comfortable and clean rooms, amazing and huge breakfast and friendly hosts made our stay in lovely Havana even better. Thank you Rosita and Madrigal for lovely stay.

On the night before the New Year Eve, we approached the door of a homestay on Malecon which we booked in advance. Ironically we were informed that our booking was cancelled and literally were thrown on the street tired and disappointed. We knocked on the door of the first Casa we bumped in while wondering around the city and lucky us there was a room available. The welcome and care taken around us was very warm and just what was needed. Francesco (the owner) speaks great English and is knowledgeable in any sort of question a tourist can be interested in, e.g. places to visit and how to get there, practical issues about Havana city, curiosities about Cuban culture and history. The rooms are kept very clean and styled with care and balance, there was always cold and hot water in the tap, air conditioning, which actually worked, and reasonably comfortable beds. Francesco and his wife Barbara will always prepare for you delicious breakfast no matter when you wake up. The location may seem to be far off the major sights of the Old Havana , but it was actually just perfect - easy to find, calm during the nights, close to the Malecon promenade and only 5-7 min from the most important attractions (Havana Vieja is not too big). We strongly recommend this place whenever you are staying in Havana. In fact, we returned to this Casa one more time at the end of our Cuban adventure and it felt like at home.

I had originally planned at staying at another casa particular, but instead was directed by the first owner to this one. I found the family very hospitable and friendly. They have a wealth of information on Cuba and their experiences as citizens. In particular, Rosita has had broad experience as a teacher of reading and special education, which is my speciality, as well. The cooking was excellent, and the room up to all expectations. Speaking Spanish to Habaneros is a challenge, but I was up for it, and what one learned was worthy of the effort. The location is excellent for touring Havana Vieja, and the area from the Castillo to the Capitolio. I would recommend this casa particular wholeheartedly.

Me and my misses spend the last days of Cuba in casa consulado. What a great ending of traveling Cuba. The owners make sure you feel home. Good food, clean rooms, warm atmosphere, safety and a great location (Revolution museum, Bella Artes and the coastline = malecon really nearby) make it a good pick!
Enjoy your time...

I just spent about two weeks in this lovely casa particular right in the heart of Havana. I would describe myself as a Cuba veteran, having slept (literally) in dozens of casas particulares all over the island, but never was I so positively impressed. Rosita and Madrigal, the couple in charge of the daily routine, are the kindest people on earth. Francesco, the Italian owner, a most nice person. Rosita is also a great cook. The rooms are big and clean. Hot water, anytime. Great air conditioning system. Silence, security and privacy. Excellent location, fair prices.

I shall not be looking further, as I've found the ultimate casa particular in Havana. Gracias Rosita & Madrigal, I'll see you again soon. Mucha suerte y mucha salud from you friend Giorgio.
