La Bodeguita is definitely a top spot to visit in Havana due to its famous Mojito. What surprised me the most is that us Europeans have a totally wrong concept of a real mojito. A real Cuban Mojito is made with ice cubes instead of crushed ice and they add Herba Buena instead of Mint. Even though this is probably the most expensive mojito in town with a special tourist price, nevertheless, it is the one not to be missed while strolling through the Old Havana streets. Tip: do order with 7 year old rum.

Just ask for a place in the upper terrace and taste the Mojito......
Fantastic place, superb decortion with all hand written walls, perfect live music.
Don't drink anything else, just go for a Mojito.
Considering the stairs to the terrace, don't drink too much, you may have a problem leaving....!!

I could go every day there.

We went here because it was said to be a must see in old Havana. The food was alright, not very big dishes, but it was very expensive to be Havana with prices from 10-15 CUC/USD for a main course. Not great compared to US or Canada... The Mojitos were just alright, and more expensive than other places.

The La Bodeguita del Medio is by far one of the most well known, historic and important locations in Havana.

It is rumored to be the birthplace of the Mojto, and a regular hangout of Ernest Hemingway.

I've been there a dozen times now, usually it's VERY busy, but it's one of those things that you just need to expeirnce.

Try to get a seat at the bar, watch the skilled bartenders making hundreds of mojitos in front of you, listen to the band, enjoy a cigar.

This is what Cuba is all about.

Much of Havana is designed to get the tourism dollar and this place was no exception. EVERY square inch is crammed with a chair, a table or a bench. We went at lunch with a reservation and we were squeezed into a back room. There was still room for the servers to bring plates of hot and delicious food, ladies and come in selling souvenirs and a three or four piece band to come in and entertain us! Of course it's a tourist trap but you don't want to miss it.
