We met David on the beach. He was fishing. He was born is Cuba and lived in Ontario for 10 years. So he speaks great English and Spanish. My boyfriend and I visted his house for lunch. The food he made for us was the best i had every eaten in Cuba. We had fresh lobster, served cold and hot, salad, fresh squeezed mango juice start from the tree in the yard

He gave us a tour of his house. His family has part of the house and the rest is rented out. It was very clean. A full kitchen with fridge and stove. Three bedrooms, each with air conditioning units, locks on the doors and 2 full washrooms with showers. There is a common living, dining and kitchen area for the guest. Tv is included and parking available if needed.

The approx. price per couple is $40 per day and $15 extra per day for breakfast and dinner. You can rent one room or all of them. He will rent only one room and not the others but it might cost a bit more.

David does not have email or the internet so he can not respond to you on line. You need to call him. (53)(45)611541. His address is 208- 58th street, between 2nd & 3rd Avenue.

You can call and book inadvance to ensure availibility.

His house is just off the main street in Varadero. So you can walk to the beach, stores, bars, etc.

He takes pride in his house and it shows! The pictures from other reviewers are alot older. The house is very fresh and clean.

Room Tip: Two rooms share one washroom and one room has an ensuite. You decide.

Very comfortable three bedroom house with two baths. Owners David and Deimy were friendly and respectful of our privacy. David speaks excellent english and is very willing to answer questions, source supplies, make travel arrangements, and generally help out. The meals prepared for us at the casa were delicious and fairly priced. Would recommend this property to families and others.

Stayed here five nights in December - 12.
The casa is situated almost in the middle of the very long Varadero beach, about 3 mins walk from the beach. It's nearest neighbour is a very nice park with some halfdecent restaurants (half decent is VERY GOOD in Cuba).
The casa consist of three rooms for rent. Two are attached with shared bathroom. We rented the third with private bathroom. I thought that 35 CUC was a bit steep, but I guess the prices is a bit higher in Varadero than the rest of the country.
Very good waterpreassure in the shower, and the a/c worked fine. You have accsess to a fully stocked kitchen if you fancy a bit of selfcatering. Standard cuban comida is served for breakfast, and the dinner in the casa was OK. I reccomend the bbq fish.
David has been working several years in Canada, so english is spoken in this casa.
All in all we found this to be a nice place to stay, but I have to admit that Varadero was a bit dissapointing when I compare it to the other places we stayed in Cuba. Nice beach, but little else to show.

We really enjoyed our stay here. They cooked great breakfasts and and a few delicious seafood suppers for us (there were other supper options too). Just make sure to make arrangements for this the day before, so they can obtain the ingredients. It is very close to the lovely Josone park, a money changer, a short walk to the main road and not very far to the beautiful beach. They have 2 rooms with a double and single bed (ideal for families with 3 kids) and a double room as well. There is a nice place to sit outside, and you have use of a kitchen and living room. They were great to our kids and David speaks very good English.

Room Tip: The double and one triple are beside each other and the bathroom. The second triple is further away.
