This is an older resort, so not as fancy as some of the newer ones, but our room was clean and functional. The only complaint of the room, is that the bed was worn out, you could feel the springs through the mattress. We knew this from a previous trip, so we brought a foam mattress topper and put that and the bed spread under the bottom sheet.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The food while not as good as previous years was still good. Great breakfast omelets and lots of fish and pork at supper. ( I heard they are trying to get more fresh local produce).
The beach is amazing, we put out our beach towel every morning to reserve some shade and spent the day on the beach.

Room Tip: If you stay in the Junior suits, request a room away from the disco, it can be noisy.

This hotel is lovely. Travelled here for a weeks r and r after three nights in Havana. Great atmosphere. Rooms are really spacious, we had two rooms - almost a suite -a bedroom with two queen sized beds, tele and balcony and a lounge with fridge, coffee maker, ironing board/ iron, all you could want or need. Very clean. The gardens are large with beautiful flowering trees and shrubs. The beach is stunning - clean white sand with plenty of umbrellas/beds and the sea gorgeous. Resort is all inclusive and the food is good - im
a fairly strict vegetarian and fussy but had no complaints. Only problem
might have been in the Cuban a la carte restaurant where there was nothing for me on the menu but the chef was happy to knock something up. The
entertainment was excellent, dancers, singers even though it was quiet in the hotel as it was low season we felt nothing was spared. Excellent cocktails. Staff very helpful with directions/info. Had a great time there.

Room Tip: Think it would be difficult to find a 'bad room'. Other than the suites the other rooms are...

Where do we start! Four of us (from Toronto and England) went on a four day trip to this resort last week, we are aged from 19-22 and had the time of our lives! We were welcomed by a lovely receptionist who gave us a gorgeous room with a view of the main pool and the bar. First thing we did was visit the bar where we met the amazing bartender Omar (who is retiring at the end of this month) then we went the beach and spent our whole afternoon/evening there. The beach was amazing, clean, calm and everything amazing you would imagine. Definitely felt like we were in paradise. Probably the best beach we've been to. We walked along the beach through different resorts and Breezes Varadero was most definitely the best beach, great relaxing atmosphere and most importantly clean. Having no children at the resort was definitely more relaxing too. We had dinner that night, and as mentioned by many people; you don't go to Cuba for the food. Not to say it wasn't horrible, there was enough selection to fill your stomach. The kind chefs (specifically Senor Moya) and servers made up for the mediocre food selection. That night we went to Havana Club which was a 5 minute drive from our resort. Our taxi driver, Javier, was nothing short of amazing and he drove us to and from the clubs every night and was on time every day. Thursday night we visited International nightclub and Friday night was Havana Club again, we all had so much dancing all night long. This resort was definitely not a party resort but a great place to come and relax and then you could visit the many clubs at night to have some fun. There was a discotheque on the resort that also played great music and got some great salsa lessons from the very kind DJ. Thursday we also visited the city of Havana (about 2 hrs away) and were blown away by the beauty of Old Havana. We went with a tour guide by the name of Yosel who I can not thank enough for being so kind, great, informative, funny and made us all feel comfortable. He not only showed us the famous attractions, he also showed us a bit of the 'real Havana', something that we wouldn't have experienced on our owns or with any other tour group. We recommend everyone to tour Havana with Yosel and his affordable prices. He took us to a great authentic Cuban restaurant with live music and delicious food. Cuba is an amazing country with so many beautiful people. Don't be afraid to conversate with anyone because you will get nothing but kind responses. We can't wait to go back and we wouldn't hesitate coming back to Breezes Varadero. So much to say and I could go on forever. One of the workers in the shop on the resort by the name of Alejandro was so so so kind and we had a great time talking with him, he recommended a lot of places to go to and was so genuine and loved living in Cuba. We didn't have any issues with the A/C or showers. The only thing was that we never got any soap but as soon as we told reception it was provided to us right away. Come to Cuba with positive thoughts and make the best of every situation and you will have a fabulous time. The only regret we have was not learning Spanish before coming so that we could conversate with the very very kind locals. Don't forget to smile and say Hola to everyone! :)

Room Tip: ask for a room with beach view or pool view

My family and I visited this resort in late April. The grounds and beach were beautiful. Rooms tired and rundown. Had to change rooms 3 times to get AC that worked. We ended up settling and deciding some air was better than none.
On a positive note we had exceptional service from Alex. He went out of his way to help us and recommended an excellent place to eat off resort. By far best meal we had all week. Which gets me to the food. As others have said there is plenty. The problem is that it is the same all week. We lived off of bread and cheese. Lobster was inedible. I am from Atlantic Canada and can assure you it did not taste like our lobster. It is over cooked and over seasoned, stuffed with things that just take away from the dish. Food was a big miss

We went on jeep exclusion and loved it. Highlight of our trip Took day trip to Havana. This was good as well. Jeep excursion was a better fit for entire family. Teenagers did not enjoy Havana.

I would not return to this resort or Cuba Glad I went , people were amazing, however will choose another destination in future

Just got back on Saturday evening - spent the week of June 7-14 there. The food was very crappy BUT the overall resort was great. We met a fantastic group of people so we had alot of fun. The resort was populated by older people (30 - 60) but there was some younger ones - regardless, the older people we met had alot of spunk as well so we partied with a great group of all ages!! The beach was beautiful and the resort very clean. The drinks were plentiful. The staff were incredible - I have never been anywhere where the staff was so happy - smiling all the time and very quick to serve you (there was the odd grumpy one BUT very few and far in between). The AC tour rep was the best and nicest tour rep I have ever met. I believe Carlos was the name of the fellow who did the grilling at the beach - very very very nice man!! We dove with Barracuda and they were also AWESOME. Truely one of the best trips we have ever been on and the staff had alot to do with it (as well as being such a beautiful, unspoilt country)

My husband and I spent June 7-14, 2014 at the Breezes Varadero Hotel in Cuba. We loved it . Here only children 14 yrs and up can stay which is a nice change . the place was very clean , rooms always kept clean , and the food actually wasn't the bad for Cuba! On the Friday night there was grilled lobster (all you can eat ) and every other night there was fresh shrimp and fresh fish . the rest was your normal pasta , rice and assorted items.
We spent most of the day down on the beach where they have a little courtyard there with bar, snack bar small store and towel hut. There is a man who drives up and down the beach with pineapple and makes the best drinks with rum in it. You have to stop him and buy one ($5.00) the pineapple is the freshest I have ever tasted. We went into town at night for lobster dinner (you can tell I like lobster) I would recommend the Waco Club , the lobster there just melted in your mouth, along with a Canadian piece of filet (was very tender ) We also went to the Rancho right across from the Beatles Bar the lobster there was very chewing so I would not go there. The Beatles Bar has concerts every night starting at 10:00 pm all 60's, 70's and 80's music with live band. Over all this hotel was excellent, clean and staff very pleasant, I took down a bag of aspirin and batteries, and other items from the dollar store and they were very happy to receive these items almost as happy as getting money . At the airport I exchanged $150. cdn and got $130 back but it is better to go into town and find a bank the hotel also exchanges Canadian on $200.00 i only got $160.Cuban. We were very happy with this hotel and should you book it you will be pleasantly surprised by how nice it is. Enjoy !! We will return next June I'm sure .

Room Tip: All the room were close and good walking distance to everything. Very clean and big

All week we were greeted by Lazarita at Jimmy`s for breakfast and lunch... and by the way, Congrats to Humberto for his new position......food is improving (quality and variety) , Italian restaurant is still great and always happy to see my friend Vladimir at El Mojito......Had many good nights at the Disco.... great Bar service from Duniel.... Room was nice in main building (Nolitours Section) but water pressure was not at his best..... but then... does it really matter....... Another great week.....
