“Bat cave ... No batman”
Reviewed 1 March 2014

Great caves lots of friendly bats, the guide was really knowledgable and enthusiastic about the 5 species of bats and cave drawings. We walked to the caves from our hotel (blau varadero) it took about 15mins. The entrance fee was 5 cuc per adult, kids are free. Authentic caves, beware of the roaches... We were not told of them and we had a mild phobia but all in all a great experience. Takes about 15 to 20 mins to explore the whole cave (depending on how fast you go thru it).

“Neat caves on the Varadero Peninsula”
Reviewed 26 February 2014

I mistakingly reviewed Saturno caves but meant Ambrosia Caves. Not far out of town heading towards the 5 stars, you will see the entrance on the side of the road. Not big caves, very minimal walking but it has ancient drawings and alot of tiny bats. $5 CUC to ride the bus to get there and 5 CUC to tour the cave. They provide you with a headlamp as well.

“It's a cave”
Reviewed 20 February 2014

It was interesting to see and take pictures of and the Bat's were cool. The guide was knowledgable and very friendly.
Worth taking a bus to go see or a cab or a scooter.

“Close bath encounter”
Reviewed 19 February 2014

Very accessible from the hotel strip with the bus station it's right there. Fee it,s 5 CUC and you got a light and a short presentation , the guide it's going to walk you to the middle of the first room after your alone or with other tourists. Lots of bats hanging upside down (not sure if they like our flashlights, probably not) and flying around your heads.
It's not for everybody although it's nothing dangerous. Don't take baby strollers it's hard to negotiate the uneven terrain in the dark, and somebody end up waiting outside.

“Pretty cool, but wont take up too much of your day.”
Reviewed 10 February 2014

It was a fairly short walk through the cave since we were unwilling to go in too far and get lost.... It was very neat though, and soooo many bats!
Very interesting - worth a stop if you're going to be in the area!
I think it cost about $5 each to go in, and they provided you with a small LED flashlight. The woman at the front was able to answer our 'bat' questions afterwards also. :)
