This review has to be taken in context. I'm a big traveller and usually arrange all of my own travel but this time used Cheap Caribbean. The hotel is pretty, modern, is on the water and plenty of amenities are available. For us, it was too big, too standard and I wish I had booked something with a little more charm, maybe not so big. Room service is wonderful and surprisingly, less expensive than dining at the restaurants. The Casino was entertaining, but not so much my thing. Service is very slow for food and drinks if you order drinks at the beach, etc. an automatic 15% is on top of every bill, supposed to go to the wait staff, but they don't see it that way. Apparently these monies are widely distributed to employees of the hotel and individual servers don't seem to see this as a tip and they are looking for more. The infinity pool is nice, as was the smaller fresh water pool. My son had fun swimming here and the weather was perfect but we wouldn't go back.

Room Tip: We upgraded to an ocean view room for an additional $50 per night.

Couples considering a Curacao trip should definitely consider this hotel. Compared to other hotels of a similar class (e.g. Hilton Curacao or the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort) it is much newer and its location is far superior, unless you like being remote and isolated.

The hotel is located in a new complex, nicely integrated in an old fort originally constructed to protect the island's harbor. Right next to the hotel are a (small) shopping mall, and several restaurants, bars (coffee lovers will adore both the Starbucks and the Douwe Egberts place), and a cinema complex. Willemstad is less than a 10 minutes walk away, and features many more restaurants and shops. So there is always something to do without the need to take a car or taxi: watch cruise ships arrive and depart from your ocean view room or from the poolside while sipping a cocktail (try my favorite: Blue Island Ice Tea); eat steak, local food, or Asian while watching boots in the harbor; go for an morning stroll to the floating market with Venezuelan merchants; go shopping for clothing, jewelry, souvenirs; go see a movie; sightseeing in Willemstad; ...

The breakfast buffet is fantastic: you can go for a true European style continental breakfast, or a full American breakfast prepared to your liking.

The hotel does not have a natural beach, but features a nice large artificial one with 2 "endless" pools. So you still get a real beach "feeling". Umbrella's and palm trees provide plenty of shade, and the pool bar has nice lunch, cocktail and dinner menus. Some of the lounge chairs are sagging somewhat and therefore uncomfortable, but the place was never too crowded, so we could always find others that didn't have this problem.

This is a perfect couples hotel. I would not recommend this hotel for families with small children. There is no kiddy pool, no pool guard, no activities for kids.

Lastly, hotel staff overall is very friendly - to Curacao standards (in our experience Curacao is less customer focused than sister island Aruba).

This was our second stay here (first time in 2011) and the quality has been consistent. Enjoy your stay!

Room Tip: Palm trees obscure (partially) the view in some ocean view rooms. Be sure to ask for a room with an...

Stayed here for a short getaway and loved the resort. We upgraded at check in to a resort view from interior view which only cost $20. The room was nice nothing 5 star but very good. The casino area was nice didn't seem very busy never a full blackjack table. The pool area is amazing and the sand is great. Absolutely loved the pool area. The hotel location in rift fort is great for easy drinks, food and shopping and only a short walk across the swinging lady bridge to town. Was very good stay and we will be back

The staff were more than helpful, close to the water, great Ocean front room, Top floor is best view. Close to the attractions and shopping, one of my Favorite places, will go back to Curacao. We ate at the poolside bar Restaurant and the food was great. They make great drinks, not watered down like some resorts I have been to in the Caribbean.

Room Tip: The Ocean front views are best, some rooms face inward, and have no view.

I stayed at this hotel in late November with a couple of friends. The hotel had a decent location near shopping and restaurants. The cruise ships actually dock near the hotel so a lot of stores that cater to tourists.

The hotel is on the ocean, but isn't on a beach that you can go swimming in. They have a man made beach. Interesting concept, but if you like the waves this won't cut it. I already knew this before booking this hotel so it wasn't a big deal. Great views while hanging in the pool!

The rooms were comfortable and clean, no big complaints unless you get a room that doesn't have any natural sunlight. My friends unfortunately got stuck with one of those rooms. So note to self! Make sure your room doesn't face inside the banquet hall. Again, since reading these posts I knew that I had to make sure I specifically asked for a room with natural light.

The service at the hotel was on "island time". I'm used to having to wait awhile to get drinks at the bar or a meal in the restaurant. Unfortunately my friends and I felt like they forgot about us one morning at breakfast. We made the mistake of not getting the breakfast buffet and instead ordered from the menu. Our server brought us coffee, took our order, and 45 minutes later after asking for a manager they still hadn't brought our food so we left.

Overall, an average experience on a beautiful island. The hotel has good amenities including the bars, casino, and large man made beach. The gym is pretty good too. If you can snag a deal on Priceline.com it makes this hotel a great value!

Room Tip: Make sure you don't get a room that faces inside the banquet area. Your windows DO NOT face the...

This is a great place in Curacao. You find everything you want without having to even take a cab. Beautiful view, great beach, cool mall (with great shops like Tiffany's, Guess, BCBG/Max Mara, Diesel among others!), amazing food and Riffort Village within walking distance. Riffort Village has great souvenir shops, delicious food and if you continue walking in less than 2 minutes, you will find yourself overlooking the Saint anna bay of Willemstad! Picture Perfect! So if you ever feel lazy , and you don't feel like going out, you can just go downstairs and walk around, and you'll have fun!

Room Tip: All rooms have great views!

My wife and I have stayed many places in curaçao and this is by far the best. I will admit it does not have an immediate beach. But with that said the rest of the hotel is fabu!!! It has an amazing Buffett and the best casino on the island and is central for all of the different shopping on the island within walking distance.
