The Hotel is very nice and modern. Love the Starbucks café. My only problem was that the wi-fi was not included in the room costs and the service cut out intermittently. The food is good but I thought the breakfast buffet was a bit overpriced. Location is nice as it is right beside some nice shopping areas and restaurants and a short walk from Punda/Otrabanda. The pool/beach area was a bit disappointing.

As we have already been several times to this excellent hotel, we tried this time the Friday-evening-Barbecue-Buffet alone.
this incredible buffet offers you everything your mouth, stomach and head wishes. The service of the local people is hearty and you feel very comfortable the whole evening. Separate to the barbecue-, salad-, dessert- and maindish-buffet you must experience the pasta-buffet. The cook prepares everything fresh in front of you and according to your wishes. Join the restaurant around 19.30h and with a hungry and empty stomach ! When you stay in Willemstad, the Restaurant Renaissance with its Friday-Evening-Buffet you must enjoy. For a good price you will get even better food, etc.
The Mariott Hotel/Casinoi itself I reviewed some years ago already.

Room Tip: Read my separate review of this Hotel/Restaurant/Casino, written some years ago.

This is quite a busy large hotel with casino and infinity salt water pool (about 75 meters wide) with a “real” sandy beach. There is also a small fresh water pool. The location is great, close to the centre of Willemstad, but there’s nothing special about this place worth mentioning.

Dera Fedor:

Thank you for your feedback and appreciating our hotel! I feel sorry you did not connect to the many discoveries. As a Renaissance, we have developed a very complete program called Navigator which has all discoveries and hidden gems in Curacao, and belive me there plenty of them.

Thank you again for your feedback!

Best regards,

This resort should be so proud of their staff. They treated us like family. Hats off and bouqets go out to Deserinze for keeping our room spotless everyday. To Alexis and staff in front lobby who always gave us the warmest greeting everytime we came and went. To Indira, Ruth and staff on day shift and Piat and team on night shift at The Nautilus restaurant, just superb service and food every single time. To Bianca, Ruella and team at the pool side Infinity restaurant, never have we had such excellent pool side service and excellent food. To all the staff at the Cru restaurant for their great service and food. We stayed all inclusive at this fine resort for two wonderful weeks. What a clean, well kept and operated resort. We would surely stay there again. The staff was the most friendliest ever. The location is ideal because it is right in the downtown but you would never say that you were in the city. Always something to do or see in the area. Shopping is good. Nobody ever hassled us to buy anything. I don't think they want to barter which was good because we don't like it either. All in all it was a wonderful vacation.

Room Tip: Fourth floor oceanview was excellent. Very busy cruise ship port as well as a busy shipping lane. Al...

Best vacation ever the hotel staff simply amazing from the doorman Marvin to the front desk agents Kevin and Suleyma who is very caring and knowledgeable about the area and places to visit. One of her best recommendations was the Adventure City my kids was super excited. Thanks to the staff for making this vacation the most memorable one.

This was our first trip to Curacao and couldn't have picked a more central location to spend some relaxing days on the island. A taxi from the airport is about $30 USD.

The doormen and lobby staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, even bringing us a cold beverage whilst checking in. The lobby is busy and bustling - mostly with guests finding space on the sofas to browse the free wifi. In room wifi is around $20. Lobby was a little smokey, but really not that bad compared to other hotel lobbies in Asia or Europe where smoking is still very popular.

Room was quiet, comfortable and well maintained. Except for a shirt found in the closet from a previous guest, everything else was pretty much spot on for a relaxing stay. On the odd occasion if an amenity was missed, a quick peek out into the hallway usually flagged down a housekeeper and replenished right away.

One minor pet peeve was that despite the DND hanging on the door, we were disturbed by the housekeeping staff. Once via phone call and the other time they knocked on the door, one hour before check out to ask if we were checking out that day. Again, we were not sleeping but if the sign is on one would expect not be disturbed?

The adjacent casino is a great way to spend some time in the air con to cool down after a nice day out wandering the city. There is a Starbucks on the second floor above the lobby and also one across the street should you need a caffeine fix. Just remember that you are on an island! Some days they were out of cups, one day the toaster was broken, but it's all in turn.

We ate at Nautilus one night also at Infinity Beach Bar. Both good - friendly service and a little on the pricey side but for the choice we preferred the beach. Nice ambiance, and the view was amazing. There is also a more casual menu for lighter fare.

Overall a great stay. One last thing for the resort, and also for many places in Curacao, is that they include a 15% service charge in your bills. Which for most of the time is very much deserved and earned.

Room Tip: Oceanview if you have a choice!

The service at this hotel is beyond exceptional. We were greeted with smiles and friendly banter upon arrival. All the hotel staff we met remembered us and greeted us every single time we saw them. They also remembered questions we had about restaurants and what to do and see in the area, and never forgot to get back to us with an answer, even if it was the next day. The door men were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Before our arrival, I requested a small birthday surprise be set up in the room for my boyfriend. I was in contact with a Navigator (guest services) before our trip via phone and email and she was EXTREMELY helpful and went out of her way to make my request happen.
The rooms are clean, new and very comfortable. The breakfast spread is great with a lot of options and yummy food. The casino is vibrant and busy...a fun alternative to going out on the town. And THE POOL....oh the pool. It's an amazing man-made "beach" on the 2nd floor, with sand and salt water included. The best part for me was that the pool was heated...I hate having to ease into the usual cold water of a pool, but this was the perfect temperature- not too warm but not cold. The view of the sea from the pool is spectacular.
The location of the hotel can't be beat...steps away from Rif Fort, restaurants, shopping and the Queen Emma Bridge. Across the bridge are lots of little cafes which are great especially at night with their live music and view of the harbour and passing ships. Overall this was a perfect and memorable experience. Definitely a must-stay!
