“a special bridge”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 October 2013

Queen Emma's bridge is 1 of only 2 bridges like it. The other is in the Netherlands. It is a moveable bridge which is opened about 20 minutes every hour for large Cruise Ships, Oil Tankers and large tugs or anything that's needs fixed or docked in 1 of the largest Dry Dock areas in the World ! There is an oil refinery there too. It used to be a bumpy walk across years ago but it has been up dated with new pontoons spread out more and it is a smooth walk across. If you hear the horn move quickly or you will be stuck on either side for 20 minutes or even on the bridge as it swings open for Ships.

“Memorable Openings”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 October 2013

Best to see at night, the bridge that is powered and floats open to let ships in and out of port is very cool. NOTE: The blue flag means the opening is going to be a long one (think 30 min.) the Orange flag means its a quicky.

“Interesting”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013

The bridge floats and moves aside to allow boats to pass. You can stand on the brodge while it moves. When the bridge is moved for boat passage there are small ferries to convey people to the other side of the inlet.

“a Curacao gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2013

we really enjoyed the floating bridge; it has history to it and you can take great pictures to both sides while on it. Watch out for the buzzing sound, it basically means that in a matter of 2-3 minutes the bridge will start floating so pace up your speed to reach the other side.
