Owner description: The Curacao Maritime Museum takes its visitors on a discovery tour of more then 500 years maritime history of Curacao. The story-line is illustrated through a permanent exhibition consisting of displays with authentic nautical charts, ship models and navigation equipment combined with audiovisual techniques...an attraction not to be missed. As well as the exhibition, the museum also offers a number of interesting tours. Besides a tour of the museum, a demonstration of the mini refinery, which is set up in a separate exhibition hall of the museum, can also be attended. In addition, a tour through the harbour can be made.

Beef Guy loved it, had to read every plaque. I'm kinda lukewarm on boat stuff. But the maps were cool. Worth an hour visit.

We visited the Maritime Museum as part of exploring Punda. The museum is not just maritime but the history of the island from when it was first discovered by European explorers. All three floors were worth visiting and the displays are informative and in English and Dutch. There is one room in the corner filled with books and photo albums of the ships that have visited the port. While we only spent about an hour, we could have been there much longer. The only drawback is that there is no seating other than for a short film.

This is a wonderful small museum with lots of history, pictures, maps and artifacts in it. We were pretty thorough and it took us about 90 minutes to walk through. There is also a restaurant on site, although we didn't eat in it.

This museum shows the history of the island through its maritime past. It is not just for history or maritime buffs. It can be a treat for all.

My husband and I visited while on honeymoon. It was our only museum stop for the trip, and I enjoyed it. Lots of interesting ship models and the video was interesting as well.
