As with all the other Royal resort propeties, the villas a very large and roomy. with 2 adults, 1 teen and an 8 yr old, we had more room than you could ever use.

Top floor is very private with great views. These villas are not cheap but have full kitchens so you can stock up and really save by staying in. The onsite restaurant ,"Agustos" is excellant.

Nice new facility with an old caribean feel.
Access to the Curacao sea aquarium and the House reef is awesome as well as included in the cost of the villa.
Take the shuttle to down town for $2 or the free shuttle to the grocery store...can not go wrong.

The staff will do anything they can to make your stay perfect!

Room Tip: There is not a bad room view on the property.

Stayed here for a week last week (April) in one of the small rooms, A302B, third floor, facing south to ocean. Two double beds. Kitchenette is tiny – tiny fridge, tiny coffee maker, microwave, no sink (must use sink in bathroom). Hotel is very quiet. Pool and jacuzzi area wonderful – quiet, lots of shade available, way comfortable lounge chairs. Made reservation on Expedia - $160/nite for the smaller room, would have been $210 for the larger. We couldn’t make the AC not freezing, even on low, ended up with it off during the days and with the arcadia door open a foot at night. Excellent location – boardwalk with Hemingways, another couple of restaurants, etc. Parking lot has 24 hour guards. Everyone smokes on the island, so best to just get used to it. The small rooms have a patio about an eighth the side of the larger rooms, the patio is so small as to be pretty silly (see the room layouts on hotel website) – definitely worth getting the large rooms for the larger patio and kitchen. Building E is the best at the resort - especially the one right on the ocean. Awesome to have aquarium, with dolphins and sea lions, RIGHT next door. No bugs anywhere on the island. Internet access was great.
This hotel would be very hard to find without GPS, you have to go past a bunch of “no entry” signs to get to the parking area, so follow signs for Sea Aquarium and Lions and ignore the “don’t go there” signs. Just after you pass front of Lions, you have to talk to guard in the guardshack on left just before the parking area, also on left. They appear to be building a new white guardshack with two big traffic-blocking arms – you walk round those arms to get to the resort.
Snorkeling is great (go from resort beach under bridge past shark enclosure at aquarium, excellent reef site and can swim next to dolphin enclosure). Snorkeling on Little Knip was best we found elsewhere (NO amenities, and beach is kinda nasty). Ocean Encounters dive shop was great.
WARNING ABOUT THE AIRPORT and AMERICAN AIRLINES – American Airlines does not have a full time presence at the airport, and they CLOSE THEIR COUNTER AND GO AWAY an hour before the flight. They changed our flight to be a half hour earlier without telling us, and we were told incorrectly on the island that arriving an hour ahead of time was fine, so we got there just over a half hour before flight, to find no AA to give us boarding passes. We could have made the flight easily (it was the 7:45am to Miami, rescheduled to 7:15am), as there is no one else in the airport that time of day, but could not get passes to get through security. Airport info desk was useless. My iPhone wouldn’t dial 800 numbers internationally in Curacao at all, the Curacao AA office or other AA Caribbean offices don’t open until 9am (no idea where they are), and so had the darndest time even getting AA on the phone. Eventually called UK office, to be routed to Dallas AA regular 800 number. They rescheduled us to the next day to try again. Extra day in Curacao, but would have preferred to have American make an effort to get us on our plane. Classic third world airport crap – surprising, as nothing else about Curacao is third world, and really surprising about American Airlines. Alas.

Room Tip: Go for the bigger rooms - the smaller ones have tiny kitchens and patios. Building E is the best.

We had one of the studio units facing the Sea Aquarium. It was wonderful to have the sun rise every morning and watch the dolphins jumping in the basin. two double beds, although there were only two of us, two couples would be comfortable in the unit. There is a dressing area with a walk in closet outside the bathroom. We had a small frig, tiny coffee maker and a microwave. If you intend to cook, you should take the one bedroom units. The patio was minute and barely sat two persons.

The resort is on a man made island across from the Lion's Dive Resort. You walk across the causeway to get to parking. Note, you are allowed to drive across with luggage or parcels but must return your car to a monitored parking lot.If you don't have a car there is a shuttle to the grocery store and down town.

It is much quieter than Mambo Beach area at night and certainly very secure.

One of the best things was Ocen Encounters on the property. A small two person submarine that takes you out and down the reef area. It was fun to watch people who returned with a great big smile on their faces. You also get unlimited admission to the Sea Aquarium.

AC worked well and it wasn't noisy in our unit.. Only drawback was no screen on the small patio so you couldn't leave your door open at night and listen to the surf and feel the breeze.

Spent a week at the Sea Aquarium resort in Feb. Great location for visiting the island and a 5 minute walk to the larger beaches off the "island". While there are only a couple of restaurants in walking distance, it is an easy drive to a number of great places to eat. The 1 bedroom units are much larger and comfortable then the studio units, we stayed in both. The A/C was loud in both the units we stayed in, which caused me to turn it off most nights so I could sleep. Didn't bother my wife, so it's subjective. It was really fun and unusual to be able to watch and the dolphins and sea lions just across the water in the aquarium. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful especially with making dining recommendation and reservation.

My wife and I took another couple with us for a week at the Royal Sea Aquarium Resort Feb. 18-25. This resort is fabulous!! It is small (30 units) and is situated on it's own man-made island connected by a small bridge to the shore. It has an OK restaurant(Angelo's), 2 small pools, and a small beach of it's own. While you could just stay there the whole week, we found it very convenient to base here and explore other beaches and restaurants every day. The large Mambo beach is just across the walking bridge as is Hemingway's restaurant and Ocean Encounters dive shop. We had a rental car from Prins (more there later) but we took advantage of the evening shuttles from 3 nearby eateries. The Wine Cellar and the Argentinian Steakhouse were both pricey but tremendous quality.
Our first night was spent in Williamsted because we flew in so late. We were met at the airport by a young man from Prins rental car. He was holding a sign with our name on it and walked us to our car and loaded our bags for us. He then drove us 10 minutes to his office to do the required paperwork. After the paperwork (very quick) he told us how to get to our Hotel for the night. In the middle of the explaination he realizied that, even with our Garmon, we could not get there because it was carnival and numerous streets were blocked off for parades. He quickly volunteered to have us follow him even though it was 20 minutes through heavy traffic, and the opposite direction from his own home. He literally went way out of his way to help us. Prins Rent-a-car is everything good I had read about on line and more. You should definitely rent from them.
The first night we stayed downtown at the San Marco casino and hotel. Very basic with no frills. An inexpensive bed and shower place. We found out the next morning that it has an excellent location right by restaurants, shopping, and all of the sights of downtown.
After a morning of sightseeing and shopping we went to thbe Royal Sea Aquarium around noon. We were ecstatic to be able to check-in early. The room and resort were beautiful and very well maintained. Our room 302-A was on the top floor facing the ocean. Sitting on our balconey you felt like you were suspended over the water. Beautiful sunsets where we actually saw the green flash 4 of the first 5 nights. Quiet, beautiful, serene. The staff is very friendly and responsive to any request. Cleaning staff did a great job and the towels and linens were top quality.
Snorkling around the resort is some of the best on the island. The dive center at Ocean Encounters is also top quality in equipment and staff.
When my friend and I were not diving, the 4 of us drove to different beaches every day. Little Knip is georgous but no amenities while neighboring Big Knip is beautiful and also has chairs, some food, and restrooms. Casa Abao was packed because of carnival but had chairs and a bar/snack bar. Jan Thiel has a small beach but super restuarants. It is good for all day with a lunch and a dinner thrown in. Our favorite was Porto Marie because of the great snorkling plus chairs and a nice restaurant.
We found the island easy to get around (after carnival was over) with a GPS unit. If you love beaches that are great for diving and snorkling, Curacao has what you want. The Royal Sea Aquarium is comfortable and the best location possible!

Arrive 2/25/12 for a wonderful week a a time share trade. Had a direct flight out of Newark that was reasonably pleasent. Car rental thru Hertz that was not the type desired but atleast a car. Off to the resort and got lost but finally made it.
Upon arrival all was efficiently ready and the third floor 2 bedrandbath room unit was beautiful with a great view of the pools and Carribean. The unit was excellently maintained as was the entire complex. There were NO issues for us or our accompaning friends.
The first night dinner at Agusto's was delightful except for a cigar somker downwind---so we moved. After a restful and comfortable night the next day we met Solimare for a tour of her homeland. What a great addition---she can be reached at either goutvisje@hotmail.com or Treasureislandtours@hotmail.com. Contacted her thru the first e-mail from other trip advisor recommendations and can only highly recommend and concur with other reviews that she gave us a great tour of her island home.
The next meal was at Hemmingway's that Sun night Buffet and it was ok and a good value for the price.
Monday was a relaxing day at the pool followed by a wonderful dinner at the Wine Cellar. Their service of pickup and return to the resort was perfect. Had we known of this perhaps a car rental might not have been necessary. The restaurant meal, service, wine list, bar and taxie service was excellent.
The next day was shopping downtown inspite fo the fact that there wer 3 ships in port. Took a cab from the resort($16 US) to downtown and then got a 9 person bus(25 guilder) back to the resort after a great day of shopping and fun. That night went to dinner at L'aLade with taxi service provide by the resturant and it was appreciated as never would have found the establishment on our own. The dinner was great and enjoyable as a Brazilean steak house.
The next 2 days were relaxing by the pool while having another wonderful dinner at the Wine Cellar. Their resturant and service was excellenant. Also visited the Tony Roma establishment as we love their ribs and they are not near home. The final night was at Agusto's because it was at the resort and convenient and good

We are owners of Royal Resorts properties in Cancun and Playa del Carmen and rented this timeshare through Royal Resorts. The rooms are modeled and furnished like The Royal Sands in Cancun. There are only 30 villas with 2 swimming pools (with some cabanas with padded chairs), a small beach facing a logoon, and next to the Aquarium, that has dolphins, sea lions, sea turtles, flamingos, rays, and caribbean fish of all kinds; admission is free when you stay here. There is a very good on-site Italian restaurant, Augusto's. There is a free shuttle into Wilemstad and to the grocery store. Resort activities are limited, but appropriate. There is a large dive shop and dive boats across the lagoon.
The resort is very quiet and most owners know each other.
There is daily towel and garbage service and only twice weekly cleaning.
All villa locations are good.
