I wish we'd gotten there early in the morning and done the hikes. I feel like that would have been more interesting than driving around. In the heat of the day, there isn't much to see, however, we did see the local Caracara birds and one deer.
To me the north shore drive was more interesting, even though the mountain is in the other drive.
FYI... the don't let anyone in the park after 3pm
We did drive a few yards north and also did the north shore tour to see the pistols which I liked a lot.

A beautiful, unique adventure in Curacao. Don't underestimate the time it will take to drive to the park & then the time of the hike! The park closes mid day and they do not allow you to start climbing if you are going to be in past that time. (Good thing since it gets hot!) Bring water! And wear a hat & sunscreen. Most of the hike is very doable for most people, but the top portion is a bit harder. I was nervous at parts and we were uncertain of exactly where the path was, but we made it to the top and were so glad we did it. Beautiful view!

US $12 per person is a ridiculous price for what is a 60 minute slow drive with a few stops but overpricing is standard for Curacao. However, still worth visiting while on the island if you have a car and happen to be on the north end.

You drive a loop on a paved narrow one-lane one-way road with a lot of steep hills (our Kia Picanto automatic with 85 hp did just fine) through some scenic landscapes. There are only a few designated places where you can pull off to view the scenery. The ruined plantation house is worth a stop -- walk past the unappealing roadside ruins to see the slave house and a slave post as well as some beautiful landscapes. The copper mine is the least interesting because you walk down a short path to see come copper ore rocks and a fenced-in hole in the ground.

Be careful when parking as the entrance fee obviously does not go towards maintaining the grounds and the unpaved parking lots can have very deep ruts.

We saw a warawara up close which was pretty cool and a few iguanas.

My husband and I are average, fit people and could do this hike. Definitely agree with doing as early as possible--hit it as soon as it opens. Hike near the top turns into a bit of rock (smaller logs/trees) climbing, but VERY WORTH it. Don't quit. The last bit is very short and the view will not disappoint. We parked at the base parking lot--be sure to give the iguanas a bit of water in the water bowl there.

We also packed a picnic lunch that we enjoyed at the base picnic bench before heading to Boka Pistol - a must not miss! Then we hit the cool water and beaches at Playa Khalki if I remember correctly. Very nice and refreshing.

Hiking Mount Christoffel was truly the highlight of our trip.
