“Nice rowboat trip up the river”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

I enjoyed the trip. We all got in row boats and a guide, James Bond, rowed us up the river pointing out wildlife. We went to a little shack/garden area and the guides made origami out of palm fronds. On the ay back we viewed a prop for the movie Pirates of the Caribbean. The score is because I like a little more excitement than this trip offered. I think it would great for most people.

“A bit disappointing”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

A guide will row you down the Indian River and point out interesting plants & animals. Too much time is spent at the little bush bar. Some people enjoy seeing sites where "Pirates of the Caribbean, Part 2" was filmed - but I would probably not do this again because it takes too much time. Would rather have spent the day doing another dive.

“Relaxing and Fun”
Reviewed 24 June 2014

Our guide grew up on the river and was able to tell us all about the flora and fauna. He paid great attention to our questions and even let us get out to see the shack from Pirates of the Caribbean. We're definitely glad we took the tour!

“An easy sight seeing tour”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

This is one of the few attraction in Dominica that don't require any physical effort. It's basically a slow row through a mangrove-lined river to a tourist-trap bar, and back. The trees are really cool, and there are tons of massive land crabs of all different colors to see, some fish, birds, and a shack built for and featured in some Pirates of the Caribbean films. It was really pretty and serene. Our guide was Fire, and I would not recommend him, seeing other people's glowing reviews of other guides. He wasn't particularly interesting or descriptive, he mostly wanted to talk about how he gets paid and how he competes with the other guides for clients. I couldn't possibly care less. I kept asking what kind of birds live here, are there snakes, do people catch and eat the crabs, etc. - things about the river, the land, the actual place we are in, and he would rattle off the species of whatever, and then go back to talking about how the hotels pay him, and so on. He wasn't joking or keeping us engaged, and we sort of had to pull info out of him. You can just look at the trees and crabs on your own though, so it is still a nice tour.

“Don't miss this quick trip!”
Reviewed 11 May 2014

We had such a nice time on our Indian River Tour first thing in the morning. Jean, aka Super Spesh, was a phenomenal guide and highly recommended! He knew tons about the local flora and fauna and really did not skip a beat telling us every detail of our scenery, while rowing us in his boat. Such a great attraction that it literally off the side of the road. You will enjoy this!
