We were driven through the gardens by our taxi driver on our way to somewhere else.
I would call this a public park more than a botanical gardens, It is well maintained but did not have labeling to plants as I would expect it to have.
It is a pleasant place to visit but you couldn't spend all day there unless you had a bunch of children with you that just wanted to go picnicking and running around.

I went to Dominica for my vacation at the same time as The World Creole Music Festival. I had the opportunity to visit several location, one was the Botanical Garden. The garden is lovely. Clean, great to walk through, have a picnic, or just relax.

It is rich in history, some awesome tress, flowers, plants. Evidence of hurricane David is still visible, which bring the history alive. Although vehicle traffic is allowed through the gardens, it is still a relaxing walk, very safe.

Very nice, loved it.

The Botanic Gardens are within walking distance from Roseau. However, they seemed to be included in most of the bus tours for other attractions. Considering the overall size, there was not much to see. There are no formal plantings or identification signs or any type of organization that you expect to find in a botanical garden. We recognized several nice tropical trees but most of the area seemed to be lawn. There are two aviaries and I hoped to see the two rare species of parrots. But, one aviary was empty and looked like it needed repairs, and the other had a closed sign due to the nesting season. The wooded area at the back of the gardens is suppose to be habitat for the Dominica Mountain Chicken Frog and I thought they might have some sort of exhibit on that. There was a small pool with interpretative signs between some buildings but no frogs and no inside displays. There seemed to be a lot of activity and planting in a fenced area but we found out that was for citrus research and not open either. The easiest thing to see and the most interesting was the baobab tree and crushed yellow school bus memorial to Hurricane David.

the garden is interesting enough to go to the first time. some interesting trees but really not too much. i didn't get out and walk around as my sister isn't very mobile. this is reflected in my low score maybe if i had walked around i might be scoring it higher ?

There were days when I needed inspiration to write and walking thru the gardens give you those ideas. just sitting and breathing the clean air and admiring the greenery makes you think of how lucky one is to be alive.
