Perhaps the best authentic Dominican restaurant in the colonial district. Its on a small unassuming road, not far from the main center, but not a place you would necessarily walk by if not directed, which works in your favor. Its busy, but often has locals, and the 2nd floor is stunning, each room a different bright color, and lots of interesting art on the walls. The food in the colonial Zone ranges in quality but most are overpriced and mainly for tourists. This place has slightly better prices and food. Although Dominican food is often focused on meats, the best dish of the night was the country eggplant. Extremely smoky, and delicious, order this! The Stewed crab was good but, almost every bite had a few shells. The empanadas are made from cassava which is a nice change, but the crab version also had shells. Everyone else loved their food, the service is attentive, and its a real nice place in an area that is often overpriced, worth a visit.

We came here with a group of 14 while on a business trip. We sat in a private room upstairs. The decor was beautiful and the service was great.
We started with some yummy empanadas- fish, chicken, and conch. I had pescado al coco, which was very good, and tasted some of my friend's pescado al criollo, which was also good.
Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner there. It is fairly pricy, but the ambiance makes it worth it.

The hotel we stayed in recommended this place for dinner and it was excellent. The food and the service were outstanding. They cook just like" abuela" does.
