“Interesting building but not astonishing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2014

Of course, no one can deny the value of this old building but there's little to see inside. The most interesting feature are some walls made of coral stones.

“Grand, but rushed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 April 2014

Impressive and seemingly well preserved on the inside. The pre-recorded audioguide will bombard you with factual information on who each of the 12 chapels was built for (a clergyman, a saint) and at what year. Beautiful, but I wished the information had been more interesting and relatable.

“Beautiful historical sight”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2014 via mobile

Beautiful historical sight in Santo Domingo - - must see. You can walk through the cathedral on your own listening to a recorded tour. Note to ladies - if you are wearing shorts, they will provide you with a wrap to use as a skirt and cover your legs.

“Eye Opening”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 March 2014

For anyone interested in world history, Dominican history, art and architecture. Amazing to realize it was finished in 1540! The audio tour is comprehensive- almost to a fault. A must-see.
